Description:

The smiles, the sunburn, the sounds, the sky and the clouds. The strangers, the friends, and the foreigners. The driving, the dancing, the laughing, and the falling over in the dark. The campsite envy, the forgetting of socks, the lack of ice and surplus of dirt. These are the things which...

Mad, when do tickets go on sale?

With Teebs and Prefuse73 on the same bill, does that mean we get a set from their new collab - Sons Of The Morning ?

Impressive first round acts.

Surprised no one mentioned Kollektiv Turmstrasse. They were awesome last time they were here, but unfortunately had a terrible sound system to deal with. Really looking forward to seeing them with some decent sound.

Plus Boris & Bodzin keeps us tech heads happy.

Great stuff guys

Not sure how realistic that is, but would be great if true. Not sure if half of that act would even want to play though

Strawberry Fields organisers - anyone from Prologue or anyone with even a hint of a similar sound would be great. For example -

I can guarantee you after last years Dozzy Debacle, there is no way it will be at Strawberry.

Nice to see Prefuse 73 on the bill. Hopefully the lineup fills up with some more forward thinking stuff, rather than the usual cycle of doof djs ie Neelix, Brejcha, Khainz etc.

First off, mad props once again to qoop and his investigative skills. I can neither confirm nor deny anything but thank you all for your enthusiam and feedback for the event details so far!

Happy to say this beautiful beast will be with us in 2012 and in every year after that. She is our special friend, and may even be getting a little facelift this time around....

The Dozzy thing still hurts me now but we will never stop pushing for that sound as its still one we believe in! And there are littlerally ooodles and schoodles of what you have deemed "forward thinking stuff". While its traditional doofs that introduced us all to a love of music deep in the wildlands of Australia, we've long since realised that just about everybody that attends has a much broader taste in music, as do we. And we'll continue to bring new sounds to the bush to reflect that! Hope they satisfy your cravings

I hope the lineup this year is just the usual doof dj's. I do not want to be seduced back to a festival that fucked up Donato Dozzy and many other great artists. It is unforgivable.

Yeah, set times would be great this time (who am I kidding I had an awesome time anyway!)

That said, very interested in Kollectiv Strasseberg (or however you spell it), and Neelix did smash it last year. Khainz also saved my Monday at RSF a few years ago.

Would definitely like to see some more on the banging psy tip.

AND I request this at every potential doof I go to but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring on an acid techno master at 2am Sunday!!! Any of them would do, just GIMME TEH ACID TECHNOES PLZ

Look, I still had a great time and witnessed some top sets last year (Minilogue/Son Kite, Fred P, Pantha Du Prince etc) but the fuck ups (Dozzy, Move D, Trus'me) certainly left a sour taste in my mouth and was a terrible way to end the festival. They got it pretty much right the year before that, with a killer lineup and pushed through against horrendous weather, so they deserve another chance imo.

So from a bit of digging I've found out who the big EDM act is that is playing, but not sure if I should let the cat out of the bag.....

Depends if you count the equipment fucking up for model 500 (the headline once more) and them consequently starting late and playing to basically 50
people as a 'slight' fuck up.

I would consider it slight, because they eventually got everything working and it was only about 6pm when they started. The fact that there was only 50 or so people was out of their control, people had started bailing well before then.

Can't believe Neelix is named again, third year in a row?? Same thing but different...

I still don't really understand how people are still complaining about the fuck ups from previous years. Yes I was annoyed when Dozzy was messed about because I fucking love Dozzy, but really, did it make much difference to my time there? No. The atmosphere was great, the festival was amazing. Considering it's run in the middle of nowhere with tickets sold at an exceptionally reasonable price, a few fuck ups are surely not only understandable but probably expected? As long as the crew is learning from past mistakes and providing some quality psychedelic at night I'm a happy man.

Oh. And Baby Burgers, were there Baby Burgers last year? I can't remember, but I want copious amounts of Baby Burgers

last year, there was a totally unexpected deluge of rainfall, that made access roads into the festival site, un-useable.
so, gravel was brought in and this meant that stage equipment were late being delivered and i think the gates were opened later than normal.

besides that, processing all of the ticket holders took a lot longer and this had caused people to already start the festival,
with an agitated vibe.

then, you had some rains, no adherence to set-times (not even set-times were announced nor who was playing was known), cut outs to sound and that added to everyone's frustrations and annoyances.

still, the festival has been consistently pulling some great artistes
diverse range of acts. nice stage set ups. cheap $100 tickets for last 2 years.

it's the first festival of summer, to kick things off heading into 2012-2013.

the festival just needs some good weather this year

build it and they will come....

You know what was a massive plus about last year? The introduction of that craft beer/cider bar and paying for it with the wristband that you could put money on. Was so fucking good getting fresh, cold quality beer a short walk from the stages (especially handy when your own supply of tinnies had run out).

The 'few fuck ups' you speak of were the main reason i went. Dozzy, Move D and Sven Weisemann ( actually they didn't fuck up Sven's set, he never even came). I thought it was going to be the first festival that actually played quality EDM music in the outdoors of Australia, but i was served up the typical dumb-dumb prog and psy. That is why i'm still complaining.
