Wow - where the hell do we start...!? We really felt that we'd showcased some unbeatable gigs in the past but the A-level quality of this gig was far superior to any Lunar party so far! With a full venue just after midnight and intermittent big queues to gain entry right through to 5am, we were pushed and it felt awesome

The Proflie Music rooftop slammed full from 7pm right through to 3am with their vinyl only showcase of Soul, Funk & Disco Edits. Stevie G & team really complimenting the roof space perfectly with their offering with fantastic feedback throughout & Stevie with a beaming smile the whole night!

The Rework basement was rocking from the get go. Musically exceptional as ever with solid performances by TBIB, Pham, Bobby Clean, Birthday boy Miza, Damir & Retza through to 8am (we think??).

Welcoming Roland for his first Lunar performance - he is a genius and unique DJ. His selection, programming and mixing abilities are that of a highly regarded international. Radovich followed for an hour of a range worthy of 2hrs and then Walter Juan followed with a beautiful deep & techno set for a fantastic warm up for Sir Schumacher who delivered a mind-blowing 3hr set with serious classic techno perfectly carved to keep the floor rocking for a Dave Pham close right through to 7am!

Every part of the venue was humming with vibe and to stand back and see this unfold was a pretty special experience. Thank you to The Herald Sun, I Like The Noise It Makes, Everguide, InTheMix, Tigerstyle, Electric Ballroom & Thomas Schumacher & his new found perspective & very humorous use of the popular 4 lettered 'C' bomb

A MASSIVE thank you to all involved and especially the venue staff and management. Superbly organised and professional as always which really counts in delivering seamless gigs.

Last but certainly NOT LEAST - All the nutters in the crowd! We're not sure how some of you escaped your psychiatric wards but we are SO GLAD you did

Fckn Legends

Wow, what a night. Congrats to everyone involved as this night was just spectacular!

Schumacher is a dead set legend and he easily played my fave set of the year to date. More of him please! I heard maybe a quarter of Dave Pham's set who's track selection once again invoked the trainspotter in me. Thoroughly enjoyed Matt Radovich at the start of the night. He is easily one of the most exciting DJ's in Melbourne to listen too as you just don't know what's coming next.

Upstairs the Profile Music boys kept what can only be described as the perfect vibe with their disco flavored arsenal of classics. I wish I could get them to play in the background for me every time I went out for smoke. ;-)

The Rework guys once again steered the downstairs area in the right direction with their low slung tech house which sounded quite big at times in that small area (a good thing!). All in all the music was just perfect on ever floor and the variety over the whole of the night definitely made it heaps more fun to go exploring.

Just a quick congrats to the 161 sound crew: 161 must have one of the best sound systems in Melbourne. Immaculate sound! Hearing Schumacher (and all the other DJ's for that matter) on that pristine sounding system really enhanced the whole night. It's one of those systems where you can have a conversation at a decent level on the dance floor without having to revert to shouting in each other ears.

Fluidlife definitely going from strength to strength and the smiles all around the club can definitely contest to that! Definitely the best Fluidlife yet and, for me, tied first with the Guy J gig as the best gig of the year to date.

Please allow me to quote Thomas Schumacher (about 3 quarters through his set on Sat):

"This is the Melbourne vibe that I remember from back in the day; this is the best Melbourne gig I've played at in over 10 years."

It's hard to argue with him.

Ok I think I may have recovered from the weekend now. Wow what a night. It was great the way the rooms had pretty distinctive different styles. Enjoyed the funk/soul/disco on the roof by Warren and co, the deep tech house sounds by the rework guys and of course the techno in the main room.

Walked in and caught Walter's wicked warm up set. By that stage the dance floor was already quite full and there was a serious vibe. This vibe was maintained all throughout the night and what can I say about Schumacher. Freakin' amazing.

Best gigs of the year for me are now Derrick May, Guy J and Thomas Schumacher.

shame i wasnt there to get booted out of the female toilets. sounds like i missed a massive one indeed.
