New ASC album due in July.

http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=16472

He has released some great techno and dnb inspired tunage in the last year or so.

It will be interesting to hear where he is at.

Mike Dehenrt - Fachwerk 25 LP.

http://clone.nl/item23366.html

It sounds like a very complete album and showcases true versatility that Dehnert is not renowned for. It will be interesting to see whether the album is regarded for any more than the three or four traditional "Dehnert tracks" that are certainly present.

As a side note: I love what the man does with a 303. He ain't bad at producing flaming house riffs either.

Orphx has a new EP out on Sonic Groove:

Orphx – Hunger Knows No Law

http://www.discogs.com/Orphx-Hunger-.../master/427152

Orphx has previously releaseds EP on Sonic Groove that have been a little restrained (if you're familiar with some of the brutality they are capable of). Who knows, it may just be that they wanted to make techno eps as opposed to making "industrial / industrial techno" eps.

This is the most industrial of their efforts. Cut Through is an absolute skull caver.

I have to say that since being put on to them by Disco in 2009/2010 Orphx have quickly become one of my favourites. I'm not sure that there would be too much better than hearing them play live over a few hours in a warehouse.

I've only really just gotten around to listening to Fallen. There probably isn't enough fuss being made about it. Raw, jacking house music with a harder techy edge.

It is excellent.

Been listening a lot to these releases lately -

Extrawelt - In Aufruhr
Levon Vincent - Fabric 63
Orbital - Wonky
Petar Dundov - Ideas From The Pond
Shifted - Crossed Paths
Vince Watson - Every Soul Needs A Guide

The one that I continually finding myself going back to and enjoying the most, is the Vince Watson album. It is easily the best release of the year so far for me. So much depth and feeling to his music. I can listen to it from start to finish each time and not want to skip one track. If I was a DJ, I would love to play Love in F Minor (Album Mix) in a dark, dingy club gig, and play Every Soul Needs A Guide (Album Mix) at a sunny beach or boat party.

New mix from Vince -

Invite's Choice Podcast 053 - Vince Watson (08.05.2012)
http://soundcloud.com/invite-1/invit...ce-podcast-053
1. Hans Zimmer - Old Souls
2. Midland - Tape Burn
3. Claro Intelecto - Blind Side
4. Exos - With The (Andre Zacco Remix)
5. Pig & Dan - Pollerweisen
6. Butane - Little Helpers 2
7. Roland Klinkenberg - Sud De La France
8. Vince Watson - Love in F Minor (Album Mix)
9. Alveol - Alignment (Brendon Moeller Remix)
10. Christian Vance - Step 3000 (Kirk Degiorgio Remix)
11. Alexander Kowalski - Green Eyed
12. Till Kruger - 0001 (Vince Watson Remix)
13. Plankton - Edding (Mark Broom Remix)
14. Franciso Tristano - Auricle on Bio (Vince Watson Edit)

Quote:

I don't go to be in the VIP area.. I don't need big breaks, a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons.. I'm just going for the music.

The Infiniti Remixes Part 2 (featurnign remixes from Redshape and Function) are out. I have to say this is as excited as I have been about a remix package (two of my all time favourites remixing classic source material).

http://www.discogs.com/Infiniti-The-...elease/3573069

Here are the remixes:

B1. Infiniti - Flash Food (Function Remix)

B2. Infiniti - Skyway (Redshape Mix)

You can check out the originals at the Tresor Soundcloud page.

Gotta hand it to Shifted.

There are some very nice tracks on his EP.

I always think that the magic really occurs when amazing sound design meets the traditional techno structure (for example I've always been more interested in rhythmic ambient type tracks).

It is with this in mind that seeing Kangding Ray - Monad XI [Stroboscopic Artefacts] in the new releases on my My Discogs page that I had to come straight here to post about it (after listening to the samples).

http://www.discogs.com/Kangding-Ray-...elease/3718374

I have to say the samples have done nothing to lessen my expectations.

D'Marc Cantu has had a ridiculous 12 months.

First it was the amazing Set Free / Tonight EP on MOS which was followed up with the Fallen LP late last year.

His latest album A New World was released on Monday and it is another killer bit of work from the man. Whereas Fallen struck me as a house album with all sorts of dark and aggressive/moody,almost gothic, undertones (kind of like early Joey Beltram), A New World seem to focus more on warmer, melancholic melodies fitting with more of a techno vibe.

In terms of the new school of American house* producers Cantu has rocketed up into the stratosphere with the likes of Vincent, Fred P, KW and Tevo Howard as far as I'm concerned.

*to use the phrase "house" to cover anything from flaming disco to deep house through to banging acid and deep, dubby tunes that do their best to defy association with any one genre in the tradition of the major cities surrounding the great lakes.

Just listened to A New World... genius. Think I like it more than Fallen. It's much less intense, but still has these subtle dark undertones.

I did hear an SCB remix of something recently that was sick sick sick, but I don't think it was Function .. maybe a Scuba track, time to dig around.

Deepchord presents Echochord - Silent World Soundtrack for the Motion Picture

http://www.juno.co.uk/products/silen...ure/458794-01/

I reckon this is the most powerful statement made by "echospace" for quite some time. Their music is by definition raw but I've found their more recent releases to be a little too refined. This LP is is completely unhinged machine music, when listening you feel like your inside the machines used to make it.
