Best DJ in the world, back again. We're lucky he loves this place.

FIngers crossed he smashed it out a bit more this time. By his own admision got lost in the moment last year and forgot to bring it home like he normally does. The turbo mixes on recent shows have been superb so here's hoping we get a good hour or more of psy this time.

Thats a bit ordinary for the people that are thinking about coming up from Interstate, having to just take your chances on the door on the night. I wonder why you can get tickets for the Melbourne event but not the Sydney event given they're both Future events?

Get there by 11-11:30 and you'll be fine. Given how cramped the Cave is you'll want to be in by then to secure a prime spot as it is.

JOHN 00 FLEMING (UK) @ Chinese Laundry - Sat Sept 1st

On Saturday 1st September Chinese Laundry welcomes back one of the most amazing Djs on the planet - John 00 Fleming

Following last years hugely successful Nine Lives tour, J00F will return this spring to bring is highly acclaimed ‘J00F Additions’ show to Australia.

Those of you who caught his show last year will already be looking for a ticket link!! The rest of you who missed it, just ask anyone how amazing J00F was - many claimed it was the event of the year! So get ready once again this September to experience one of the true masters of electronic music. Please note, door-sales only for this event, so get in early or get your name on the guestlist.

“A national treasure of trance music”
Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 (Essential mix)

“One of the Pioneers of the electronic dance music scene”
The daily Telegraph Newspaper

John 00 Fleming is an artist who has achieved international success in a career spanning over 20 years without dishonouring his musical essence or fans. With over 10 million album sales and 30 produced mix compilations, John’s a proven musical pioneer whose essence lies in what his fans call, ‘the J00F sound’. The J00F sound is as unpretentious as the artist, and is best described as deep and textured progressively edged trance, in an electronic dance music style that is an antithesis to what is normally produced within the genre.

J00f specifically asks for no lighting , lasers or over the top production

He wants intimate , dark rooms where the music does all the talking

Saw him for 5hrs in the UK last weekend. Fucking brilliant. One of the best times I've ever seen him (which is getting to be a few now.

A very unique set with plenty of twists and the best reading of a dancefloor I've ever seen. The first 90mins was more deep prog and techno approaching tribal than 'traditional' trance but it was the best of that sound I've ever seen and laid a perfect platform.
Anyone playing a set that long is 'allowed' to lose people occasionally but he did so only once that I noticed, and learned from it so quickly that he was back on track inside half an hour and kept them all night despite dropping the odd dark/twisted psy track that the mainstream trance crowd didn't take to. Kept it quite melodic and trancey due to this then but still managed to nail it. I asked him for something a bit more pumping and twisted in Sydney

Partial tracklist (mostly stolen from J00F forum. I'm missing soooooo many from the beginning) for anyone who wants a sneak preview
Spoiler:
John 00 Fleming – The Astrophysical Nebula
Relaunch – From Dark to Light
Faithless - Music Matters (Mark Knight remix)
The Digital Blonde – Rainsong
Lyctum - ID (Euphoria?)
Neelix – Expect What
Meller - Robot Monsters (Neelix remix)
The Chemical Brothers – Star Guitar
Age of Love – Age of Love (Manuel De La Mare remix)
Airwave – Coka’s Song
Sub6 – Down & Out
Ovnimoon – Love is the Key
John 00 Fleming – The 10th Life (Artefact303 remix)
Chakra – Opacity (Audio Junkies remix)
Carlos Orff – O’Fortuna (Wizzy Noise remix)
Push – The Legacy
Jose Amnesia – The Eternal
Cosmithex – The Pressure
Deep Cry – Crossing Over (Basil O’Glue remix)
Airwave – Atlas Winds
ID (Timewave? Fu(king brilliant)
KAN – Atmosfear
Loco & Jam –Estadio
Sub6 – Freefaller
Micky Noise – Balkanizator
Wizzy Noise – Eye’s Wide Open
Logic Bomb – Bitter Hitter
Burn in Noise – Vuuv Festival Celebration
PT – Astrix – Coolio (Infected Mushroom remix)

Hey guys from past experiences how quickly does it get packed? I'm on the guest list but I can't make it till a bit later due to other obligations, what time would j00f be started roughly?

J00F will play 12-4. Apparently people were still getting in just before (and just after?) midnight last year but it fills pretty quickly from 11 onwards. There's a lot of us playing it safe and getting in just after 10 to get a prime spot.

I can't wait been looking forward to this for aaaages. Are there any big tracks I should listen out for. I was reading that everyone lost their nut when he dropped rain song last year. I like to know what song I'm hearing although I know I'll have a mad time even without knowing. On my list of I can't wait to hear fires of chameleon!

The problem is that the range he plays is so diverse you don't really know what you're going to get. He also doesn't necessarily smash out his own productions much, which keeps things very varied. I actually wish he'd play more 00db stuff.
If you listen to heaps of GTG you can recognise a lot of it but that's from a pretty broad range of tracks.

The only exception being about 10-15 pumping tracks he's had on rotation since '08 like Sub6 - Down n Out or most of the tracks from Wizzy Noise's Renaissance LP. He'll play half a dozen from that list each set guaranteed. A lot of the big tracks from the Euphoria Psy comp series. But also with new stuff so it doesn't feel too rehashed..

The tracklist I posted above from Passion should contain a fair few tracks I'd expect here given just how recent it was. But at the same time I saw him a week apart in Syd/Melb last year and he still only had ~50% doubling up of tracks, so it's always hard to predict. Even in terms of set build it's unpredictable - it's not always a slow build to one peak - have seen him dominate long sets a few different ways.

Keen as.
