I'm from Melbourne. I'm more disappointed that I'll be missing out on the footy finals!

Just to clarify, I'm not the promoter. I've been booked to play and asked to help find a few techno support acts. It's a shame that the night clashes with Alex Bau, but I'm sure they will be two different type of events (in two different cities) that attract different type of punters. No doubt both nights will be fun.

I'm sure that the promoter would love to send his paid act to play at this party instead Some of the guys earlier in the night will play some more ligher tek house stuff, but you're right, we will get pretty dark, dirty and twisted after the witching hour. this is deja vu all over again. pretty sure the last time the warehouse party clashed with another good gig in brisbane.

edit: yep, it clashed with Jon Convex (Instra:mental) which was a sick party!

It's a shame. Would you believe that I talked the promoters into rescheduling this party so that it didn't clash with Chris Liebing a few months ago? Unfortunately sometimes these things can't be avoided. We had to co-ordinate a heap of schedules to settle on this date.

As I say, this party goes from 6pm Saturday until well into the next day. Those that are keen can certainly make both events. I'm flying back to Melbourne at midday on Sunday and might actually catch Alex Bau that night at the Lounge.

What I meant is that when I saw Liebing was on at Brisbane I talked to the Gold Coast promoters and said that it wasn't a good idea running the party on the same weekend.

This 4 hour set was recorded at the last party. It came out pretty good despite some serious monitoring issues. This time around I hope to get a little bit more darker and twisted. I was suprised how much the GC crowd were up for the dirty, twisted bass heavy techno last time. I thought I would be stuck playing bouncy tek-house

No apologies are required mate. The guy was just losing his shit to a Monoloc track and tried to let me know it a little bit too exuberantly. LOL. He did run out of the party never to return, yes?

It was a pretty funny thing. Peak time of my set, the breakdown from Monoloc - Avichi about to kick in (from memory I had a few different tracks doing on) and he comes running up to the desk to scream some kind of random techno love, hits the usb cord on my laptop and kills the system.....

DEAD SILENCE........................................... .................................................. .................................................. ........

He screams "oh shit, I'm SO sorry" and runs off the dancefloor for the exit.

A 60 second reboot later and it was back on like donkey kong though. I felt so sorry for the guy. Those kind of things normally happen to me.

Got an old techno loving mate that I haven't seen in 10 years coming up from Sydney for this, looking forward to it is an understatement.

I reckon I've got about 15 - 20 mates coming up from Melbourne, which begs the question, why don't I play the occasional gig in Melbourne anymore?

Answer: Because it's more fun getting of your couch to fly to the Gold Coast than get off your couch and drive into some random Melbourne club. Plus, it's about 15 degrees warmer...

It's going to be awesome seeing (and hearing) Enclave play a live PA. The guy is a serious talent. He reckons he's going to play harder and faster than this, but this gives you an idea of how top notch his work is:

What are the chances of this going on till 5 or 6am or even beyond? If i'm going to be doing a 45 min drive down the M1 after many hours on the dance floor at Bau, I don't want to rock up to a closed or closing warehouse party.

It will start early and finish late mate. I'll post up set times soon. The more people that are there then the longer we will play. Matt and I have got a 1pm Sunday flight. We'll play right up to the last minute if there are still conscious people on the floor.
