RVP was the only loss.

Arteta is showing Song up big time. If Diaby Stays fit, and if Wilshire stays fit and is able to reclaim some of his previous season's form, I think we are a better team all-round compared to last season (even with the loss of RVP).

Wilshire isnt even fit now (In terms of havnig not played proper epl football for so long) and I know Song had defensive weaknesses but come on man, he was a good player and I would still call that a loss. I think Arse have a good team as well and thats why I reckon I will they 3/4th but I cant see them beating any of Manchester ( imo of course).

I honestly think Coquelin is a better player than Song. I don't see Song as a loss.

Wilshire? Only time will tell. Same with Diaby.

I think we will be right up there challenging if we have a better season on the injury front. City and United have improved their squads no doubt. But so have Chelsea and Arsenal. Injuries are going to be more important than ever this year. City only have to lose Kompany and/or Yaya for a significant period of time for them to be far more beatable (by anyone).

RVP has to stay fit for United (I think he will by the way), same with either Ferdinand or Vidic. Chelsea are looking quality too but if they were to lose Terry or Hazard or Torres, they'd be in a bit of a pickle.

I am far more bolshie about us actually competing for the title this year than I've been in a while. I'm not saying we are likely to win it, but I think we are a better chance of getting to 80 points this year (particularly if Giroud starts to hit the target) than more recent seasons, which is there or there abouts.

I remember when i had the hide to say that Lucas was better than Song , all you Arsenal fanboys came out running telling me how good he was !!!

I remember Big Eddie posted a youtube clip of him doing some tricky dribbling move.

I've always been a massive fan of Song and I still am, but I was also in the 'Song isn't a DM' camp.

We were seriously lacking midfield creativity last season, Song helped provide that outlet (although he got a bit too enamoured of those lofted balls and sometimes gave the ball away as a result, when there was a less hollywood pass on offer)

With the addition of Cazorla to provide the creativity the extra defensive/ball holding capability of Arteta in the deeper/holding role means that we seem much more solid in midfield this season without Song than we did with him.

tl;dr - Song is good, but we may just be better balanced without him. [initially I was horrified at the idea of him leaving]

chelseas massive deficiencies will start to show their face when they actually play half decent teams.

defensively its the worst chelsea side since they were actually chelsea fc not the plastic flag wavers.

teams with the best defences win the titles. chelsea aren't in the hunt. its united and city fighting it out with a few upsets on the way

I guess, but the amount of goalscoring players we have is through the roof - Mata, Hazard, Torres, Oscar, Ramires, Cahill, Frank, then you got all of the squad players who are fairly handy. We may be defensively fucked, but the fact that we were considered one of the best defences in the league shows how low the bar is.

We won't score as many but still enough. Where we will improve is not letting goals in, something you can obviously see right now.

I was a big Song fan, but I think Arteta will be just as good if not better.
Diaby and Willy to take Arteta from last years spot.
Cazorla 100x better than Ramsey
Podolski and Ox better than Gerv and Theo
Back 4 are more solid
CF is the only area we've gone backwards but you can see we're playing a diff way to accommodate that.

Injuries will be the key for us like every other year.

My pointy is tho, that yes we may not score as many, but we certainly won't ship as many. Expecting to see a lot of 1-0's this year.
