Huge win by Adelaide which will pretty much mean nothing when they play the hawks next week. But i had them pegged at quarter time

I feel for Silvagni. Played 5 games all year and had a big task playing on one of the better forwards in the comp. Good season Dockers.

Freo were pretty unlucky last night. Probably showed the two weeks of travel towards the end and were unfortunate that they had Pav playing while obviously injured. Ballantyne didn't get much of the ball which hurt as well but Mundy and Mayne were immense.

The Crows were fortunate in the end. Dangerfield has done nothing so far in the finals. If he fires and Thompson, Vince and Sloan start well I think they will go alright against the Hawks. They probably won't win but I think it will be close for most of the match, with the Hawks putting the after-burners on in the 4th to zoom off by the end.

Can't wait for tonight's game. I hope the Eagles and Pies smash each other to smithereens. I'm still tipping the Pies though in a close one by < 15 points.

If the Eagles keep it close the Pies might get the wobbles (but with the finals experience they have in the team they might just as well not: useless analysis is useless). Best chance would be for the Eagles to get a 20 point lead early and make the Pies chase the game. Also don't know how the Pies will win if Cloke doesn't kick a few goals. Thomas needs to fire the fuck up, he's had such an inconsistent year for someone endowed with such natural talent.

Eric McKenzie usually plays Cloke into pretty good form...think they'll be ok. Pies by 10 I reckon. I'm with Jimmy...just want a solid display rather than a thrashing.

we should win. im confident. throw stupid stats out in the window in big ass games. just like the whole "we cant play mcg" stat won't matter in a grand final. it will just be even sweeter to beat the pies to make the granny.

Pretty lucky to win last night. Disposal was so poor, but eagles just seemed to run out of legs after half time. Swan needs to lift next week if we want to get up.

I'd say it's more about being realistic.

Thinking it'll be like Pies by a goal. Last night, they're looking like their old selves again and at the right time of the year, unlike a couple of weeks ago.

We definitely have the team to beat them, no doubt, particularly with Reid back and if Goodesy plays like he did last week, it's just the way we manage to lose to them time and time again that concerns me.

Plus I'm lowering my expectations so if we do manage to win I'll be properly amped. Should be a pretty good game either way.

We won the first match, had a week off and didn't have to travel. Collingwood got smashed physically and on the scoreboard against hawks and then had a very physical contest against the Eagles. They were losing in the first half when the Eagles applied the same sort of pressure that we apply for an entire game. I'm pretty confident this time. We would have beaten them last time with straight kicking.

Ok. Well let's just say that I'm inconspicuously confident about our chances of making it a close game and reserve the right to do some "In your faces" and "Collingpwned" should we indeed prevail.

Fremantle's Matthew Pavlich has sparked speculation he is to be overlooked for this year's All-Australian team.
The inspirational Dockers captain revealed he was not invited to tonight's awards, while team-mate Luke McPharlin was and made the trip to Melbourne today.
Pavlich, who has won All-Australian honours on six occasions, finished with 62 regular season goals and kicked another seven during the finals including a virtuoso display in Fremantle's upset over Geelong.
The 30-year-old played 21 games this season, averaging 17.4 disposals per game and 6.3 marks.
He also finished fourth in the competition for goal assists.
Pavlich also confirmed he will undergo off-season operations to repair injuries.
Pavlich will have hip and Achilles surgery, which is expected to keep him out of full preseason training for six to eight weeks.

At least it looks like McPharlin is getting a guernsey.

I am enjoying the smug Richmond fans on Bigfooty. Reading their posts you'd almost believe they weren't following a club that's missed finals for over a decade and has finished 15th, 15th, 12th and 12th the past four seasons.
