In Melbourne now it shows up the local government areas instead of suburb names. So you can see Stonnington, Yarra & Boorundara rather than Malvern, Richmond & Hawthorn. Really fucking useless.

It also doesn't show tram stops at all.

It's a pity because the mail client is better, safari is faster and the 'do not disturb' mode has been missing since day 1.

I'm just using the google maps web app until their iOS app gets approved.

you'd hope iterations of existing apps were better. their last two major additions to the OS have been pretty substandard.

it's weird, their data supposedly comes from openstreetmap, but they have a 10th of the detail of openstreetmap. i wonder if they scrapped the high detail stuff because it looked ugly.

look around here for instance and compare that to apple's offerings. it's pretty sad that stuff produced by dorks who throw mapping parties do a better job than the world's biggest company.

It's not too bad here. Pulls up a couple of lunch venues near work. I started using it after hearing Leo Lapprte talk about it a few times on various TWiT shows.

A great review from Topolsky as usual on The Verge. I agree with pretty much everything he says.
There's a bit at the end where he shows the Galaxy Nexus in action and what the iPhone is missing now with it's "dated" software.
As someone that uses a GN and iPhone 4 on a daily basis, I cannot possibly agree any more than I already do.

Looks very nice, the design in my view is still one of the best. Need to see the finer details in person.

2 small iOS 6 bugs which are annoying the shit out of me.

1. Multiple day Facebook events still show in the calendar after they're declined.
2. When tweeting or facebooking from notification centre, locking and unlocking the screen clears your text.

Not sure if the second one is a bug or if it's by design but it's annoying!

Haha! Damn dude this reviewer sounds like an iPhone fanboy desparately clinging to the expired Apple glory that was lost somewhere between 4 and 4S. Maybe he was just trying not to be too scathing? Also I shit myself after seeing all those macro shots.

Anyway that's an interesting point brought up about the sharing business on ICS/Jelly Bean. I thought that stuff would have been well integrated into iOS a long time ago? Like the ability to grab media or text/link and with a couple of clicks throw it into a chat or social network app?
