Great play from United. Rooney was on fire! Clever finish from Cleverly. He's really growing and showing good signs that he can lead from the middle. Rafael is having a great start to the season. Should be getting Smalling back now after the international break.

Resurfaced rather shady after tht weekend.

Anyway thoughts on the spurs/villa game (if any of you ****s care).

Nice to get another win after a fairly weak first half effort. Looked much better in the 2nd. Vert was a beast again, as were Dembele and Bale.
Speaking of bale, people need to go easy on him.. He runs so fast that sometimes when his foot touches a blade of grass that is slightly higher than the rest it can have the same stopping power as Ryan shawcross' studs.

Sad seeing friedel's run come to an end, but can see what AVB is thinking with Lloris.

Anyway onwards and upwards, looking pretty decent for the season, bring on rAvErS_aRmY!!!'111

No fuckin chance he meant it..
Picked out RVP's run perfectly, then overhit his cross into the top corner..
Nice poker face though afterwards!

lolled hard at this.

Seriously though, that dive yesterday was the worst I've seen from him yet. I know he's been battered a few times including Charlie Adam's season ending masterpiece last year but his diving is getting a bit beyond trying to avoid tackles. I reckon he needs a fine for last night's effort. The annoying thing is he would probably have scored had he stayed on his feet and rounded Guzan.

Still not as bad as Suarez' effort.

Agreed, both were disgraceful but Suarez' was beyond ridiculous.

To be fair Bale's getting an absolute battering on the Spurs' forums with most of our fans well pissed off with his diving which is not becoming of a Tottenham player. Meanwhile on RAWK it is claimed that Suarez never dives

It's not becoming of any professional player. It's cheating. I get annoyed when players go down at the slightest of contact anywhere on their body (Pires was like this for Arsenal - although I can't remember him having ever blatantly dived but I'm open to being proved wrong) but I guess there is at least some plausibility if there is some kind of contact. Bale, Gerrard, Suarez, Eboue etc. etc. have all shown that not only are they willing to cheat but that they don't mind looking like complete softers while doing it.

And I love Thierry Henry, he was majestic, and not often was it that he dived but I still remember getting well angry when he fluffed a chance and then got up claiming he had been choked while running round like some fat fucker trying to ice-skate. I think it was against Spurs too. As you can imagine I was quite perplexed at having sympathy for the Chicken-ballers whilst also being angry at a player I idolised.

It was clear that the wind from the sheer speed of the Stoke defenders chasing Suarez cause him to fall over. Twice.

I actually like Stoke.

And to be fair to Suarez, Toure did try something similar but its not mentioned anywhere near as much:

I like how he looks behind him only to see nobody there .

Great performance from what was essentially the B team this weekend.

Milner and Barry looked amazing, like I said a few pages ago they're the missing elements in the middle of the park that have played a large part in us shipping so many goals this season. The first game they start together with Toure and we dominate midfield and keep a clean sheet. Richards looked immense as well but he's got his work cut out getting a spot in the first team.

Bang on. In high pressure situations where he's focused he's almost unplayable. Look at his performance at the Euros, he was an absolute beast. But that was a unique situation, he was there to prove himself after the racism he copped in Italy and prove himself to the Italian public.

The problem with him is that focus is few and far in-between; he's rubbish in regular games and opposition teams have figured out that if you rough him up enough most of the time he'll put his head down and start sulking and be useless.

It's a shame because the fella probably has more raw natural talent than any other striker in the EPL, and that talent has got him this far without trying, but without the determination to harness that talent be the best he'll most likely always be the guy that could have instead of the person that did.

Speaking of wasted talent...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...ell-early.html

Spoiler:

Quote:

West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison in more trouble as Lee Clark and Birmingham look to end loan spell early
Ravel Morrison is facing further turbulence in his troubled career after it emerged that Lee Clark wants to send him back to parent club West Ham.
Clark, the Birmingham manager, is already losing patience with the controversial midfielder and is keen to strike a deal with Sam Allardyce and cut his loan move short in January.
Morrison, 19, joined the Championship club on loan in August but has frustrated Clark with his general attitude and alleged lack of commitment in training. The former Manchester United trainee has not been included in Birmingham’s first-team squad for the last three matches and has made only one start in the league.
Clark cannot send the teenager back to West Ham until the transfer window reopens next year but will still require Allardyce’s permission to terminate the deal. If Allardyce refuses, Birmingham could have Morrison on their books until June. Morrison’s behaviour is also believed to have infuriated senior members of Birmingham’s squad.
Morrison’s problems at St. Andrew’s are the latest in a long list of acrimonious episodes ever since he broke through United’s youth academy and was touted as one of the country’s most prodigious young talents. Two days after winning the 2011 FA Youth Cup with United, Morrison was fined £600 by a court for throwing his girlfriend’s mobile phone out of a window during an argument.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of witness intimidation last year and has a police caution for assaulting his mother. His United career was dogged by off-field disciplinary problems and absences. Rio Ferdinand once denied on Twitter that Morrison had stolen his watch at the training ground.

I really want him to reach his potential as well ( despite leaving us). The way people have spoken about him and the bits I have seen of him have been class.

On the topic of the Man City game, would it be going too far to say that Kolarov has one of the best left feet in the game at the moment... The free kick was outstanding, then put in a great ball for the second goal (some finish for that one too by Aguero). Was Kolarov's 4th goal in his last 5 games for club and country

Yes I did, but maybe my perspective is skewed.

I don't see him anywhere close to a Drogba, Henry, old Torres, shearer, bergers, Ronny and co even rvp, falcao, cavani.......
I know he has time on his side but maybe it's an England thing also.

If I were Mancini I'd be trying to get rid and going for falcao.

This is some pretty interesting perspective on why no-one stumped up cash for Falcao as of yet: http://www.football365.com/spanish-t...d-In-La-Liga-/

Plus, I'm not sure any "top, top" striker would want to head to City to be the #4 forward. Balotelli fills that role for now and doesn't seem to sook too much about it (in the media anyway).

If the fucking twat wasn't crying wolf so often maybe he'd get a bit more protection.

The refs should be reffing what actually happens. If they think Suarez is diving, book him for simulation but if he is getting kicked and they see it they should either be giving a free or booking the offender.

That isn't to excuse his diving but it's pretty shit refereeing if they are doing nothing either way.

The whole problem stems from the fact that players don't get booked for going down when they've not been touched.

I said this 20 years ago and I haven't changed my position on it. But FIFA or the FA will never do anything about it. It's gotten to the point where cheating is so ingrained in the game it's accepted and even coached.

I don't think it's so much a case of officials intentionally disregarding fouls they see, but rather where they are unsure whether a foul has been committed, they are giving the benefit of the doubt to the defender, as they know Suarez is a diver.
