Sharing some Old School Melbourne Radio Recordings 1994-1996
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some radio tapes from back in 1994 to 1996.

First up is Will E Tell and Jeff Tyler from 1994 doing four decks on Triple R. Some great old school gems and great energy in the studio.

Side A:

Or http://ww22.peejeshare.com/dl/01/03/...ltidecks_A.mp3

Side B:

Or http://ww24.peejeshare.com/dl/01/03/...ltidecks_B.mp3

Please let me know on here if you liked them so I know to share some more.

Thanks,

The links are dead now but thanks for making the effort. I'm not sure why the Sydney kids were always so organised in collating their old shool mixes and Melbs is so much more difficult?

Anyway after many years (some overseas) of dropping by here every few/6 months and trawling the net elsewhere in search of that elusive old Melb sound, I have finally dug out my old tapes and begun the process of digitising.

Because I know how frustrating it is to find old dead links I want to make sure the hosting is more or less permanent... hopefully I will get some up this weekend (writing this on the Friday morning commute)

Mostly my tapes are from Kate Bathgate's Tranzmission show on 3RRR on Sunday. Usually the week before a big party the local DJs would put on a long set featuring a lot of the guest act so captured a lot of the flavour and hype of the upcoming night. I never tried to cut out the talking or ads because it was all an important part of it to me. Sydney DJs had their own tapes for sale it seems, this is Melbourne's equivalent.

Anyway... stay tuned for some awesome mixes, TBH I'm surprised how well the tapes have held up given they were flogged for up to 9 years until the car with tape deck died and have been in storage another 12 years after that.

Reason: embedding is tricky
