It's not, here's the quip from the tuneecu.com

Quote:

TuneECU on a MAC computer ?
You will need a way to run Windows (preferably XP) on your Mac. This can only be done on those
running an Intel Processor (so if you've got a (very) old one, you're out of luck).

There are different ways to do this:

Dual boot (Bootcamp)
Virtualbox
VMware Fusion
Parallels
Once you've got Windows running you are all set. Just download TuneECU, and make sure your
cable driver is installed correctly in Windows.

It's easy peasy to use though, I used it heaps before franken-turboed the trump

If you can get the software running, its piss easy to updates maps and make changes. Pretty awesome piece of software for free too.

The mini is easier, the kit can be bought from zcar, a mob from old blighty.
Plus mini's are probably cheaper to buy.

Shopping list:
Mini- ~1000
Busa engine- ~1000 or ~3000 for a write off
Kit- ~ 4000

Now to win the loto or find a more understanding missus.

Edit; And a bigger garage.

Be warned, if your bike is still within manufacturer warranty and the motor pops its on you. Making changes to fuel tables should be left to professionals.
Though in saying that, most maps on tuneecu are tame and are copies from dyno'd bikes.

Im only using the official KTM ones anyway Once I do the full airbox removal its going to the Dyno, even as it stands now it could be a lot better.

Sorry mate that wasn't totally directed at you, just a notice.
Triumph have placed tamper proof ecu's in their 2013 range due to too many people blowing engines by playing around too much.

Yeah you can even change timing in the KTM one, so easy to fuck shit up. But in saying that, after the physical changes and putting the closest KTM map on, the thing is a different beast. Cant wait to see what it will be like with a semi decent map on it.

Mid range torque is what I love about it though. Gave my mechanic a spin last time I had my car serviced, he couldnt believe it and this was a guy that used to outride me on the track. It spins the rear pretty easily up to 3rd or 4th gear and I blasted an Evo on it the other night. Only thing I dont like about it is the suspension, it seems really uncompliant. I like stiff suspension, but this is really hard through the top of the stroke but doubt I'll get anything done about it. Doing the airbox removal sometime soon and putting it on the dyno. I've seen some damn nice graphs after those changes!

A motorbike crashed on my street last night. The noise woke me up, so I looked out the window. The guy picked his bike up, and was trying to find a gear (bike was still running).
The drunk kiwi from next door starts running towards him, the bike starts and he takes off. Kiwi throws his stubbie, hitting him in the back.

Already looked into that when 690SMC's were first released OS, not viable. Although for MX and race bikes it could make a pretty penny.

You have to think about the fact that our riding season is longer and the demand for bikes in Australia is higher which equals the inflated price.

pro-tip, ALWAYS low ball the price tag the soon to be owner has on it.

^ I actually never considered that umgawa...the fact that because Australia is such a fucking amazing place to ride a motorbike that the prices would be so much higher than smelly england.

edit: but I know with cars it's just the taxes. Smelly smelly taxess.

It doesnt help our country has around 200 000 motorcycle riders so we dont have the buying power to get bikes cheap like other countries.

In 2006 there were 463 057 registered motorcycles - a rise of 24.8% since 2002; I would wager that the increase since then has been a much higher rate due to higher fuel costs etc. My guesstimate would be around ~600k registered bikes. That is quite high for our population and proportionately higher than the UK. In 2010 there were 1.3m in the UK.

Traders constantly trot out the 'smaller market' argument but I reckon it's a furphy; especially when you consider our proximity to most of the global manufacturing and textile centres! It's an excuse to rip people off which is why the online area has so much success.

Nice, I've finally got all the parts in the mail for the pod filter mod on the SMC, plus a heap of other assorted parts. Hopefully get it on the dyno for a proper tune early in the new year!

Well fuck me sideways. I got bored this arvo so finally did the ru1750 mod. Got rid of the entire SAS system too with a handy blanking plate I found on ebay for a few dorrah. I just put the evo1 map on and added a little bit of extra fuel from mid to top and the thing is a weapon, even compared to the drilled airbox I was running before. And to think I was pretty happy with the bike before any mods at all.

anyway, a few pics here: http://imgur.com/a/HWhP4

Ok picture time!

Getting her stripped. Stock subframe (keeping it intact, using a 03 subframe to chop up)

Something's missing?!?!?

Cutting down the spare subframe

Welding it up. Not the best welds (being a begginer and all but it's on strong (did the stand on subframe test)

Test fit

Finished product

It's not 100% finished, though it's ride-able and near complete.

On the to-do list still:

GSXR front end and rear wheel

repaint body work (still haven't decided on colour/scheme)

Clear clutch cover still needs to be put on (waiting for next oil change)

So apart from the Gsxr parts there's little to do and man I'm glad it's finally all coming to shape.

Took it for a ride down to the shops and due to the lower center of gravity, whilst turning into a intersection I laid a nice black mark down on the ashphelt.. man this thing just gets better!
