In all fairness to Hernan it sounds better when he plays it than it did on Soundcloud, but the vocal is pure cheese, not even gourmet.

Hahaha maybe they should've gotten someone like Fever Ray on the vocal, it would definitely sound a lot better!

No resident this week , Delta are streaming live from Creamfields Argentina . http://fmdelta903.com/audio.html It is highly unlikely they will stream Hernan, but just in case he is on at 12.30 our time. They are streaming Guy Gerber.

Unfortunately yes. I can deal with the stuff over most because it is well placed, but on my favourite shows that I know I will be playing a lot, I cut out the the beginning, the end and the middle. There is too much amazing music not to listen.

I don't listen to the shows anymore, same with Transitions. (Only when Diggers gives us live set recordings)

I haven't listened regularly to Transitions in years , but it is far worse than Hernan's show. Digweed uses it to promote everything , CDs T/shirts the works. It has to be someone really special for me to venture there. And even then like with the Henry one, they always seem to be a little subdued .

Hernan Cattaneo: "Looking for music with groove and melody"
Argentina is a dj recognized worldwide. He worked with big names of the trays. Lots of style and personality. He spoke with The Viola Web and included details of his career. It has a very busy 2013.
Wednesday January 2, 2013 | 11:09

IN ACTION. Cattaneo next to the trays.

By Carlos Iogna Prat
Hernan Cattaneo has the bag list. Renowned Argentine DJ and producer has a busy schedule for this 2013. His work is recognized worldwide and is in contact with the leading figures of the genre.
His passion for music and especially for this work, started very young. Discs became the raw material. The ability to make people dance seduced him since he was 14.
He was in charge of several disk trays in early '90. His style is marked by music House. Next January 5 will perform at the Movistar Punta del Este Summer Festival.

How do you prepare to play at this festival?

Eager for several years because I do not do any shows there. All the latest in South America have been fantastic and this is no exception. The Jaguel is an ideal location, good size and very comfortable access for everyone. Steve Angello and Luciano are two great exponents in their respective styles so there will be high-level entertainment for everyone.

How can you define your set?

Usually I like music with a good groove and melody. That is the common denominator in all my sets.

Do you remember what was the first record you bought?

I inherited a lot of records of my sisters with whom I started working. Then I bought a lot of funk and soul that were the main sounds of club music of that time, and from then on I started to follow closely the European electronic music.

When was the first time working as a DJ?

At a ball, in the house of a friend in Caballito neighborhood when she was 14 and before that, organized parties at my house to play music.

What were your influences in music both internationally and in the local?

When I only knew local djs as there was no information about what was happening outside, and I was old enough to enter a club. The first national idols were Alejandro Pont Lezica, Rafael Sarmiento, Bronco and Joseph Bernstein dj, djs true pioneers among Argentines. Then in the '90s, when Martin brought Gontad Graemme Park, top English dj, I discovered a new world and began to travel to meet the djs and felt very attracted to Frankie Knuckles, one of the pioneers of the House of Chicago.

You traveled around the world How encontrás Argentina to the electronic scene?

It is very well, growing all the time, yet increasingly mature. Gontad Martin developed the scene with great success and professionalism and their work is highly respected around the world.
Are you in touch with other dj? Do you have good relationship with Paul Oakenfold?
Sure, there is a large community of djs and we are in constant contact, and affinity match in clubs and festivals throughout the year's calendar. With Paul Oakenfold have a very good relationship. The opened doors for me and I will be forever grateful

You shared the stage with big names. What was the most emotional moment?

Fortunately, there are many. I had the privilege of playing in amazing places like the Hollywood Bowl, the Red Rocks Amphiteathre, Burning Man or Coachella yet, Creamfields emotionality or Moonpark in BA are difficult to match.

What does having a DJ to excel?

Personality is undoubtedly the most important, then talent, perseverance and a very good manager is essential.

How is your work on this 2013?

In February I have shows in Morocco, New York, Montreal, Austin, Texas and Chicago, March Moonpark Buenos Aires, tenth anniversary with Sasha, and then the Winter Music Conference in Miami, some shows in Brazil and Peru for Easter. After Tel Aviv and from there will be all the shows in Europe until after the summer. A production level, two new singles with Soundexile will settle on sale in January and March by Sudbeat and another throughout the year, plus other collaborations in which I am working.

Play in Punta del Este and then you go to New York and Montreal. Do you notice differences in the public or end up being the same party scales uniform?

Audiences are different everywhere. Not the same a city like Montreal, which hosts top DJ's every weekend, one of Eastern Europe that makes six times a year. Nor is it like the South American public with their enthusiasm known that the French, which is not as effusive. However, when specifically doing the show, you have a proposal and a musical personality that does not vary from one place to another. People expect me to be the sound you hear on my records or my radio, my music brand, and that's what I do around the world every weekend

What is your opinion of Steve Angello and Luciano, the two figures who share the poster in Punta?

They are two of the leading exponents in their respective styles and very popular everywhere. I think the line up is diverse and musical moments for everyone

One of the slogans of your seal Sudbeat is "Global in the ethos, South American spirit." He senses that is a definition that can be applied to yourself What is that idea?

Correct. Sudbeat was an idea we had with Martin Gontad to generate an extension of what I do every weekend and as another alternative way to share the music that I find interesting, in turn supporting new artists from around the world. I have the good fortune to travel every week and tour the continent at least once a year, which gives me the opportunity to be in direct contact with producers from different parts and cultures, and, in turn, took 13 years living outside Argentina, which gives me an overall view of things absolutely, but even so, I still reap Argentine and South American. Put another way, a citizen of the world, but with an Argentine accent passport

Since several years llevás radio. What has your experience in future a radio? What lessons have you left?

As the record label, the radio program was the result of looking at alternative ways to express myself musically DJ, and taking advantage of my popularity among certain public sector, show and support new artists globally. Resident has 12 years on the air and surely, although in some respects to mutate in the future, the spirit is the same: to share and publicize new music every week.

What are the plans for 2013? Do all roads lead to the celebration of ten years of Moonpark?

Fortunately, yes. In March, the festivities begin with part two of the show we did with Sasha and I'm sure there will be other top level in the rest of the year. After more than 1,500 shows around the world, I can say that Moonpark is one of the best parties in the world and is proud that Argentina

Moonpark is so much more than one of the best! It has it's own spirit!! I will get back !!!!!

As I listen to his Residents shows, I sit there with the tracklist and write down which tunes I should buy. I find myself writing down every tune these days. Such a ****. Why always play such good music.

I really want to go to Moonpark.

Seen Hernan in London, Barcelona, Tokyo, Sydney but not on his home soil.....and my next overseas trip will definitely be South America, so it has to happen when Moonpark is on.

^^^ That is a wonderful plan He is doing one with Sasha in March but he hints at one later in the year in one of the articles I put up. A lot on his forum are saying they want him on his own, hopefully he will do that. He did it in June last year. It is the dance party of a lifetime.
