of course there are arma3 servers. it's designed for multiplayer as much as it is for sp. In fact like all the other arma games, the sp is pretty much just multi with ai bots

For those who don't know, Wasteland is a community made online mode which is basically open world shenanigans. You can team up, build bases and do objectives if you like, or you can just run around being a dbag.

Not sure. Probably not though - it was fairly dead, and he mentioned not long ago that he wanted to wrap it up. Looks like DayZ is going to be dead to most of the WP guys until Standalone, with the exception of a few still playing Taviana servers. (I'm going to install Taviana, will post deets in DayZ thread).

I've pretty much got the inventory sussed. Figured a diagram would be the easiest way to explain.

• General storage for ammo, meds, misc items goes into your clothing / vest / backpack (1, 2, 3).
• In the pic, the clothing tab (1) is selected, and the contents of it listed below (4). There is also a little capacity bar directly beneath the clothing, currently showing at about 25%.
• In the left pane (6), right click any general items and they will autofill available slots in (1) (2) and (3).
• For weapon and tool slots (5), you need to left click and drag items across into the relevant slot.
• Bonus function in the left pane: You can select the Ground tab and dump stuff there instead of in the crate / vehicle / whatever. Remember how painful it is to juggle gear when you've got vehicle inventory open in Arma2? Moving away to dump junk items on the ground etc. Not any more.

So it's actually pretty good, but feels a bit yucky to use. I think it'll feel better when they finesse the animations a bit. Right now it just screams red at you.

So worth getting? Last night nearly everyone on my Steam's friends list was playing Arma 3

It's actually hard to make the recommendation. As an Arma 2 player you'll appreciate the engine update and the potential of the game. But we spent much of last night crashing, relaunching, swearing, and dealing with terrible framerates (which were way worse online... I spent several hours running around Wasteland at 18-20fps).

Considering that you get the final release in the end, $33 is a great price. But the fun to fuck this ratio is currently 1:1.

after about 10 attempts to play online with the rest of our crew i gave up and played tomb raider instead. I'll have another crack at it & certainly run through the SP things
