I don't get the chobani yoghurt fascination, I tried it and thought it was pretty bland. Jalna is better.

I'm amazed such fitness freaks like you lot would even use microwaves! I saw this thing once, might have been a documentary about how this surgeon fed some plants on normal tap water and also on microwaved water and the plant that was given the microwaved water mutated. Scary stuff!!

I agree. But chobani does have better macros and less sugar.

What the bleep do we know? - Most retarded piece of hippy propaganda i've ever seen! Microwaves are fine, its just heating plastic near food is a bit of an unknown for me at the moment, havent got any reason to worry about it but glass just seems a little safer.

Matter of taste.

Gippsland Dairy > Chobani > Jalna IMO.

Avoid the Farmers Union blueberry ones though, they taste like AIDS.

I agree that Jalna tastes better than Chobani, but full fat anything tastes better than fat free anything, really. Most of the people I know who rave about it are eating for fuel, not flavour.

I put in 100g of each to compare them. Considering that an average serving size is around 200g, it starts to make a difference if you're observing your macros.

I thought Ed was talking about the fat free Jalna, IMO the fat free Chobani is definitely nicer.

Edit: duh, whole milk would be full fat. Yeah totes agree with your point then. The selling point if Chobani is its fat free and doesn't taste of failure.

I don't see the difference between having a plain, fat-free yoghurt (without fruit or flavour) & a protein shake tbh.

It just adds a bit of variety into an otherwise reasonably bland diet when you're eating clean.

We're talking about a variance of 90 calories per KILO.

fat free dairy is retarded.

Fuel not flavour doesn't excuse the poor maths IMO.

I put the yoghurt in the shake myself, just like the taste as much as anything else.
I know the fat difference is pretty minimal but I do eat quite a lot of dairy, so I'll go the lower fat option where it doesn't taste terrible.

In a 200g serve you're getting 19.6g of protein in Chobani vs 8.6g in Jalna for equivalent calories.

Small adjustments like this mean the difference between eating & training sustainably for extended periods vs bursts of RFL

I'm amused by the idea that swapping 8g of protein for a couple of grams of fat is the difference between "eating sustainably" and RFL. Where it is the the reverse where you would actually care about the 2g of fat.

10g of extra protein over 5-6 meals is 50-60g a day. The small adjustments make a big difference.

Adding a 6x multiplier to make your point says that on its own its not a terribly strong contention.

Science would involve testing increasing the ratio of fat but keeping total calories the same.

19.6g vs 8.6g - if anything I understated the 11g difference by calling it 10g, not added 20%.

I don't understand the point of the argument here. Stacking your calories towards protein rather than fat or carbs is not even debatable when it comes to getting lean.

edit - nicely edited Ed, you beat me to the quote
