Gopro connected to mixer (DJM 800) question
Hi,

I have been contemplating purchasing a Gopro camera Version 3 if only I could use it for two purposes, one is motocross riding...no problem there, but the other use, is to be able to shoot mixes (Including digitally recording the sound), I saw a few DJS shooting on youtube , but I guess they are separately recording the sound (Then sync it use it software), or just recording live sound (Which is not the best for my purpose)...I was wondering if anybody ever got the 3.5mm input as shown here: http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-AMCCC-30.../dp/B00A3MY7L8 then plug a 3.5mm male to L/R rca on it, and then connect either to the REC output of the mixer, or the BOOTH output (Which in this case would include a way to adjust the sound level)...So I guess I am just curious to know if it is possible...my concern is the female 3.5mm would be mono...but then again, please let me know if you did it and what was the outcome...thanks...a lot.

I connected my fridge to my mixer once. It made for some very tasty beats.

yes, your plan will work, but only if you never redline the master on the 800 if u go out from master2,

or u can use rec, but then u gotta not redline combined output of the channels, (for which you dont have a monitor)

Or you can use booth, but you don't have a way to moniter the booth to make sure you're not redlining.

there's a trend here

The correct way to go about this would be to use the record out. Use the line levels to control the volume of the mix. I don't think mono or stereo for a video mix is a big deal.

I just had a bit of a read and apparently you can use the GoPro as a webcam. This means you could capture the video via a PC rather than the GoPro's internal memory, and run the audio to a soundcard line in and get stereo sound,

tried it the other day worked a treat although around the 40 min mark it starts a new clip I've done a couple of times now and works great into the rec out on mixer the levels came out fine but the last time the sound was a bit distorted but i think if i had of jiggled the connection it would have been sweet

I heard the newest camera have a better audio connection which does not require that special plug like the earlier version, as for me I went with Sony coz it was a gift and it seems it is much better at night in club environment...
