Testing & Tagging of DJ equipment
Hey guys,

For those who DJ out (and perhaps this is mainly focused at Mobile DJs), do you regularly get your equipment tested & tagged? I've had a few gigs recently whereby the venue (places like Crown Casino, Grand Hyatt) have a requirement of all electronic appliances to be test and tagged. I ended up paying Jim's test & tag to do it for ~$150 but just wondering if this is something a lot of mobile DJs get done or is it just an over-the-top thing that only a few venues ask for?

How many items did you get tagged for the $150?

Sounds like a hell of a lot of cash to tag some electrical gear.

30?!?! How much DJ equipment do you have?!?

Not surprised somewhere like Crown wants everything tested and tagged, my work place is the same
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

haha, that also included all power plugs (so a standard speaker would have 2 tests - the speaker and the cord), extension cords etc. It all adds up unfortunately

Hi Fender
I know to get mine tagged as well. I have heard that it is the speakers, mixer, cd players and their power cords plus any extension leads and power boards. Did you need to get the mic cables tested as well?
How long was the testing for? 6 or 12 months?
Thanks

Dropping your hard-earned cash on DJ devices. However, with so many different hardware/software choices nowadays, choosing the right DJ products and software can be complicated.
