Baby Beats is back for August with some exciting new ladies for show and tell.

It will have been 2 years to the month that we opened the doors to Perth and let loose our ideas about pumping up the hype for female Dj's. With a few extended breaks in between and some new recruits to the team, it's fair to say that we are back and ready to kick it sideways with a mixture of new talent and some well established ladies of the wax.

We welcome back to the night Mono Lisa, the queen of a broken beats. Mono Lisa has established herself in the local club scene over the past few years and has been the recipient of the PDMA's Best Female Dj award for 2007 and 2008, and has supported such greats as Rennie Pilgrem, Skool of Thought and Alex Metric. We warn you that appropriate footwear should be worn for the night as you will be dancing like a person possessed. Guaranteed.

Next on the lineup, going back to back with Mono Lisa, our favorite, Carla. Busting out some cranking breaks, Carla has started making a name for herself amongst the locals scene, playing at such nights as One AM and Dim Sum. Looking forward to seeing what these two will create together.

Our very own Needlenurse if back this month to administer her medicinal broken beats. A regular for Zoo and Baby Beats, Needlenurse is making her name known to Perth. Watch out for her over the coming summer months!

Making their debut to Baby Beats, Sling K and Miss Behaviour. Between the both of them, they have phat beats and ripping bass lines covered. It's going to be a bit of electro, a bit of house and of course a bit of breaks. We look forward to seeing what these two will bring to the dance floor, our guess? Madness and mayhem.

Doors will open at 10pm. $5 before 11pm and $10 thereafter.

We look forward to seeing you all down there and help us rip it up for an unofficial birthday celebration.

BAHA! I can't remember who it was either so don't feel bad. I'd be surprised if this person remembers anything! They'd just changed the licensing laws for clubs or whatever in Australia and it was going to force clubs to charge more etc. Whoever it was felt very passionately about this topic but was having trouble verbalising it. It proved very amusing for the people listening.

ahh the first babybeats. that was the most drunked 2.5 hours of my life i was drunk until 4pm the next day! my housemates thought id had my drink spiked when i got home coz i was FUCKED, babbling indoheretly, not unusual but i also i fell over on the front porch and couldnt work out how to get up sarah had to come out and pick me up and put me to bed, later on i got up to go to the toilet and walked back into her room, and i was naked...ALLEGEDLY!
