SPICE AFLOAT 2010 Sunrise Cruise - MATTHIAS MEYER (DE) & RIPPERTON (SUI)- 1 JAN 2010

██████ SPICE AFLOAT ██████

It’s 3am New Years Eve………… your supplies are running low & things are looking a bit shady.……there are no cabs and your OVER IT!

WAIT………NO……….THIS CANNOT BE THE END!!!!!!!!

WHATCHA GONNA DO ?

How bout joining us to watch the 1st sunrise of the year on Sydney Harbour; it simply does not get any better (or looser!!!!)

Back for the 4th year in a row. . .

██████ THE SPICE REVOLUTION ██████

Being the RECKLESS little freak that you are, you just can’t drag your buzzing little self home just yet. It’s not just you that feels this TUMULTUOUS REJUVENATION…it’s the whole SPICE revolution!!!!!!! The SPICY little UNDERBELLY of Sydney’s underground shakes to it’s feet and stands up to be COUNTED!!!!!!!

Lingering in the peripheries we EMERGE wholehearted and full fisted from the darkest alleyways of the city & stand up to be counted after 4AM…..we will raise our techno hands in to the FIRST SUNRISE of the year triumphantly as we FLOAT about calmly on the HOTTEST damn Harbour in the whole universe.

Back for the 4TH year in a row, this one promises to be the BADDEST & LOOSEST one yet!!!!

Headlining this event so far, we can very gladly confirm:

██████ INTERNATIONAL LINEUP ██████

RIPPERTON - Switzerland
Perspectiv / Dessous / Systematic / Rekids
http://www.myspace.com/raphaelripperton

The Swiss based musician Raphaël Ripperton has worked on his unique production style since about 15 years. In these years he played in different bands, established is own label Perspectiv Records, produced and remixed endless 12"
Ripperton has released on Dessous, Systematic, Rekids, Liebe Detail, Connaisseur, Sthlm Audio, Plak and many more top labels.

He has also delivered remixes for Laurent Garnier, Chardronnet, Beanfield, Steve Lawler and the exceptional band Radiohead
He was compiled by artists such as Steve Bug, Loco Dice, James Holden, Joris Voorn for their compilations during the last years.

He gained outstanding popularity with his project Lazy Fat People that was signed on labels like Border Community, Wagon Repair and on Carl Craig's Planet E. He also loves to make collaborations in the studio with his closest friends like Agnès.

Now his 2nd label compilation “Family Tree II” is out and he persuades again! He is not only an over-average producer: He has the craft for an amazing selection of music - to be listened to in his sets as well!

As a DJ, Ripperton spins the melodic and lush end of House, Minimal & Techno. Definitively one of the most creative Swiss DJ's nowadays, Ripperton is a perfect chameleon of electronic music.

RI - PPER - TON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MATTHIAS MEYER - Hamburg, Germany
Liebe Detail / Poker Flat
http://www.myspace.com/matthiasmeyer

Dj, Producer and Liebe*Detail key artist Matthias Meyer hails from the quiet town of Lueneberg, near Hamburg, Germany. As a young, excited music lover, the hi-tech sounds of Detroit and Chicago spoke to Matthias, and encouraged him to seek the excitement and hustle of nearby Hamburg's diverse club scene. From here he let music take control, actively promoting this newfound scene in his local towns with the Sfunkt DJ collective, organising parties that would bring the electronic message to an otherwise dance-less area.

'Tout Va Bien' really defined Matthias Meyer's current musical direction. A long, meandering, deeply spaced percussive journey, full of intricate detail and raw, organic textures, the track received huge support and quickly brought the young musician's name even more into the light. As the winter months of 2008 approached, and the buzz from 'Tout Va Bien' still worked its magic, Matthias collaborated with long-time friend and producer Patlac, creating another huge club moment entitled 'Skipper'. This was released on Liebe*Detail's 'Spezial' offshoot label, along with the equally moving track 'Salt City', to yet more praise.

Matthias has broken through into spotlight thanks to his uniquely passionate take on the house and techno genres. His love of rich, energetic club music full of texture, life and heart propels him to work more and more. His work as a Dj allows him to bring this very human, endearing quality to an increasingly large audience.

In his eyes, the great joy of Djing house music is that, unlike in so many other scenes, he doesnt need to play pop hits to get dancefloor recognition. Instead, he can spin a long tale of rolling grooves and evolving, emotive musical stories that provoke a different, inner relationship between DJ and dancer. For this reason he will remain a very special commodity, a true artist and true creator, so that when his music is experienced it will never fail to pass you by.

We welcome him to Australia with open arms and open minds!!!!

Ripperton! how freakin awesome is that

Where's he playing NY's then! Hmmmm

Might have to do the Laundry, Spice Afloat, Summerfielddayze triple header.

That swiss bastard has been my fav producer for a good few years now, he's held top spot for longer then most.

got me B-dawgz.

and ok Howzitgarn you make a good point..... until you go to Home Nightclub and pay like $13 for a spirit.

If you are seriously worried about $80 on New Years then stay home or drink up in a park

Its the one time of the year when $$$ dont matter to me.

Obviously some ITM fgts are on board but the majority of the girls are hotter than ITMolez and the majority of the guys are less jaded than ITM clowns.

Hence why its good fun.
