Podwars: What's The Scenario // Transit Bar // 23rd Oct
 The location…..Transit Bar The weapon of choice…...The Ipod The teams…...a selection of Canberra’s finest promoters On Friday 23rd October, Podwars returns to Transit for it’s second installment for 2009 with you, the crowd, once again ultimately determining the winner. Podwars: What’s The Scenario will put our budding pod-champions to the test, forcing them to draw random topics/scenarios from the hat and produce an epic tune to both match the chosen song type and out-select the competition… The Scenarios are: – Getting In The Mood – Song You Want Played At Your Funeral – WWE Entrance Theme – Club Monster – Best Of The 90s – 80s Spandex Classic – Rave Anthem: Reach For Da Lazers – Breakup Song – Wedding Aisle March – The Devil Horns Lullaby – B-Boy Call To Arms – Aussie Patriotism (No Southern Cross Tattoos Please!) Each team will be forced to train hard, research their collections and come up with a series of unbeatable songs from each ‘scenario’ to out-select, out-dance and out-wit the competition. Our teams are: +ONE STRANGEWAYS LLIK LLIK LLIK and......[insert special guest team here] Once again, your hosts ROSHAMBO and SKOFACE will control and direct the action and ensure that the stage erupts in pod-buffoonery, crazed antics and terrible dance moves. YOU – the crowd – will choose the winner, your cheers and jeers recorded on state of the art sound decibel machinery. The night will also be uprockin’ thanks to the supreme DJ talents of party-starters: Mr. NATHAN FROST Senior DFP Kid BRICKSTA Free Entry. 8pm start. Competition kicks off after 11pm. Don’t miss the next exciting edition of the legendary PODWARS!

Due to unforseen circumstances, unfortunately the Lexington Music dons have had to pull out of the competition. Rest assured, they'll be back ready to represent at a future Podwars event. This leaves one team slot open for our 'What's The Scenario' edition of Podwars. So..... If you think you and your mates can cut it at Podwars and compete against some of the very best selectors in Canberra then email: roshambizzle@yahoo.com.au and let me know why your team deserves to compete in Podwars and what you would play as your 'winning track' on the night. If one teams plays a song you had planned to play, you simply have to adjust, be reactive and counter with a better tune. The idea is to be as prepared with as many dope tunes as possible, hence letting you know the 'scenarios' beforehand. Having the 'punters' know the categories beforehand also puts extr pressure on the teams, beause people may weigh in with their thoughts, ideas or preconceptions. Might help weed out a few of the more obvious options hey? Make you guys really dig deep and be creative! Now stop your whinging haha.

Well being at all the Podwarz gigs, I have to say it was the lamest effort of all.
Take on Me, Bohemian Rhapsody. Someone might as well have dropped Killing in the name of the wrap up a cliche track list And WTF was with the choice of B-Boy call to arms tracks? Dont relpy and get shitty with my comments, its just my opinion, I love Podwarz, but I was bored shitless and annoyed with the lame predictable tracks picked. Oh, and if you think you can win by having a pre-planned song list.......................

I think that's easier said than done, given that the scenarios were pretty specific. I have a shiteload of music on my pod but I wouldn't be confident that I could cover all bases without having planned at least a few options. Cheers Ro, nice work!
