My Aeon Loves…
This monthly event is solely focused on the most current minimal/ tech and progressive sounds from all over the globe including tracks from our own Danny Bonnici and Gavin Martin. Danny Bonnici a genius on Ableton show’s us why he has been a success in the past with Nu Breed touring all over the world! Now going solo, Danny is able to express himself playing live, cutting, layering mixing and djing pushing Ableton to the limit! Gavin Martin's recent sets include the pre launch Maya Festival after party at My Aeon and is the only person who has played at all of their events! He recently has some new unreleased tracks that would blow your mind! Heath Myers joins the team after some time away... Heath is a regular at My Aeon creating a vibe and energy most dj's don't even get to create after years of playing! Heath just knows how to please an audience with his music selection and excellent mixing capabilities! Aaron Smiles our in house resident has done his time over seas and frequents Cairns so often that its almost strange to see him here every month! From ableton to cd's to vinyl... There is nothing this man can't do behind the decks! Introducing last month to the line for the first time was Will Barrett. Will has played an awesome introductory warm up set for Gavin Martin. Will has been at My Aeon a few months now and has earned himself the right to mix it up with some of the heavy weights in the underground electronic scene opening the night from 10 pm... Keep an ear out for Will... Steven Sakkas closes the night with a unique sound flowing through his set. Many can’t put a finger on what it is so you just have to hear it for yourself… All events will not finish earlier than 6 am from November so be sure to catch this event as it only comes around once a month…

Ah the lovely Spring warmth comes to the rescue, just turns that beer garden into such a wonderful space!
Looking forward to the November gig, seems by tunes collection gets deeper with each gig I play at My Aeon.... Anyone check out the Maya after party? sadly I couldn't make it, but heard it was off its rocker! |

Classic! Surely if everybody gets on his case, there is no way he can forget this month!! Then again he is a DJ ha ha ha!
 Maybe somebody is going to have to solder the recorder into his Vestax controller's line out, that way the goods get committed to audio file for posterity every time! Hell, even one of those yellow Post-It notes on his laptop screen to remind him to turn on SoundForge or something similar when he starts up would be better than nothing!!  The scotch and cokes will be flowing freely the day he actually remembers!!!  |

Well I have to be honest, I am a little pissy at all the MyAeon fans who decided to give it a miss last night hence the boys packed up and bailed. I would have done the same, it is not much fun playing to an empty dancefloor! Has this week been that massive that everybody was too knackered to get off the couch??? Shit, this is a monthly party and in my humble opinion, one of the best events on in Melbourne, Australia, NZ, whatever! So show the good people who make the effort to put it together for us some support and put feet on the floor people!! If you don't, then Melbourne has lost another great monthly which would be a damn shame, these guys are playing cutting edge tuneage!!
Many thanks Gavin and Steve for at least playing to 4 of us!! Very nice tunes Gav, Steve said your last 4 were yours? I'd love to get the names of the tracks to track down! Nice work!! They sounded fantastic without any bodies to muffle the sound ha ha!!! |

Yes it was called Rusty Lounge... One partner took off so had to change the name... One meaning to the name of My Aeon means "new beginnings"

Keep an ear out for Will as he will be a force to be reckoned with in years to come! Steven Sakkas just gets deeper and deeper with each set... Cant get enough of those phat, warm deep sound of the bass.... Soon he will be so deep you wont even notice him behind the decks!
