Sideways ft DJ Schwa (BEEF Records) + Jordan Deck | Nov 27
This is the last Sideways of the year and the last one all together with this name...
New name and a few changes along the way to start the new year.. More on that later... We’re looking for DJs to play from Feb onwards, please either pop in with a demo at one of the nights, or email (along with guest lists) to Sideways.Fridays@gmail.com The Bunker (underneath the Bourbon) Kings X – 10pm-late $15 on the door, $10 guest list 10:00 - 11:30 - Jordan Deck 11:30 - 01:00 - Dave Stuart 01:00 - 04:00 - DJ Schwa 04:00 - close - Chris Combe Schwa Michal Ruzicka, aka DJ Schwa, became engaged in music thanks to his father, who is also a musician himself as well as an owner of a recording studio in Prague. At the age of 14, dance music caught his attention mainly through Radio 1. Around this time he tried to mix his first tracks (techno in particular) from cassettes and shortly afterwards he moved to the turntables and computer. In 2000 he found trance and started performing publicly. Two years later Schwa joined the group Tribal Vision and became an essential part of this promotional group. In 2002, Michal started his weekly resident nights in Prague at Cross Club and since 2003 he has been working as a sound engineer at ORM studio in Prague. In 2004 Michal, along with DJ Slater, started working on the first Czech progressive label and by the end of the year “Tribal Vision Records” was born. Tribal Vision has since then been slowly establishing itself as one of the leading labels on the progressive scene. At the end of 2005, the idea of an electro/experimental sub-label of Tribal Vision Records became reality and thus established the foundation for “BEEF Records”. Michal is also part of a new Sydney based electronic project called, “Shades of Gray”, with Nick West. Oliver Klein and Jurgen Dreissen signed 4 Shades of Gray tracks for their imprint PlusMinus records and in early 2009 Shades of Gray track Moog In The House reached number 6 on BEATPORT TECH HOUSE CHART and number 3 on DECKS.DE VINYL sales chart. Schwa’s sets are not strictly one style oriented; he combines electronic sounds that progressively flow from deeper-tribal-prog with electro and breaks elements to minimal and techhouse rhythms. Schwa has performed at huge international festivals such as “Open Air Field” (Czech Republic), “Parihaka” (New Zealand), “No Mans Land Festival” (Hungary), "Good Vibrations" (Australia), “Rainbow Serpent” and “Earthcore Carnival” (Australia) and he is frequently touring across Europe, Japan and Australia. Schwa supported Djs/projects such as: Gui Boratto, Jimpster, Minilogue, Extrawelt, D-Nox, Propellerheads, Alex Smoke, Antix, Orbital, Chemical brothers, Steve Angello, Deepchild, Kasey Taylor, Future Sounds of London, System 7, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Heidi, Tim Green and more. http://www.myspace.com/djschwabeef Jordan Deck The mastermind behind Sydney’s intimate monthly club night “Chemistry”. Jordan over the last year has hosted and played alongside the crème de la crème of Sydney’s underground…Including the likes of Ben Korbel, Deepchild, Jaime Lloyd, Robbie Lowe, Jimi Polar, Trnity Claire Morgan, RifRaf to name a few. Jordan grew up playing an array of musical instruments including guitar, bass, conga’s and singing…Having played in many bands over the years, Jordan more recently has been influenced by electronic music. Playing anything from Deep House to techno… expect to hear music with a more deep, funky, percussive and melodic edge. Chris Combe Sunday School & now Sideways resident Chris Combe has bee slowly plying his trade with a minimal amount of fuss, he is one of Sydney nicest DJs and it shows with he fun filled “techno fist” pumping sets. Chris' style incorporate a funky blend of tech house, minimal and techno, more bouncy that a trampoline on acid. Chris' previous gigs include Finely Tuned, The Likes Of You, BUNKER, Spice, Shrug, Deep as Fu*k, Red [Box], Faction, Chemistry, Subservice, Trigger [Swarm], The [Box], Mingle @ Tranist (Canberra) and FKN Mafia Parties. He has also played alongside some of the best artists in the business including Minlogue, Mark Romboy, Peter Gun, Michel Cleis, Big Daddy, Daniel Dreier, Peter Juergens, Carlos Gibbs, Mike Acetate, Deepchild, Robbie Lowe, Trinity, Glitch DJs, Defined By Rhythm, Jimmy Posters, Bump DJ's, Nick McMartin, Dopamine, Mic Doney, Kate Doherty and Luke Le Mans amongst others. http://www.pulseradio.net/studio/Chris_Combe Dave Stuart As a DJ Dave’s style could be summed up in one word…DEEP…whether it be House, Tech-House, Progressive, Minimal, Techno, or just straight up Deep House. Dave has supported several International acts including; Justin Martin, Paolo Mojo, and Daniel Dreier. And has played at most venues in Sydney, including; Civic Underground, The Bunker & The Cross (The Bourbon), Favela, ARQ, The Cave (Chinese Laundry), Brown Alley (Darkbeat - Melbourne), Pretty Simple @ Ffour (Melb)

not too long to go now, on the home stretch!!
really excited to see what Jordan and Schwa bring to the table, should be proper!! as we are running our own door for this event, its going to be important to get onto the guest list to ensure cheaper entry. hit me up for guest list via PM or mail chriscombe@gmail.com cheers don't forget this will be the last Sideways so it would be good to get everyone down to have a proper good bye and dance off of course!!
