Smile The Hot Barbeque 2010 :: Point Nepean, Portsea :: Official

:: THE HOT BARBEQUE 2010 | SATURDAY 16 JANUARY ::

Fire Up! Hot Barbeque 2010 is set to sizzle in the sun and scenery at Point Nepean, Portsea.

Strap on your apron, get your tongs at the ready and prepare to indulge in a smorgasbord of rich musical treats, because Future Entertainment is returning to the grill in January 2010 and turning up the heat with the biggest Hot Barbeque to date.

Now in its third year, Hot Barbeque has forged a solid reputation for delivering an intelligent, boutique and ultimately unique festival experience for music lovers far and wide.

From Indie Rock and Hip Hop to House, Electro, Funk, Soul, and beyond; this dynamic 10-hour sonic feast proudly caters to a diverse range of musical tastes and serves up a mouth-watering selection of the finest artists, performers and DJs from around the globe.

And, from vibrant market stalls and food vendors to roving street performers, art installations and craft demonstrations; this truly eclectic carnival celebrates the senses and affords a cultural kaleidoscope like no other.

Having previously resided at Melbourne’s Birrarung Marr and Sidney Myer Music Bowl respectively, 2010 sees the Hot Barbeque juggernaut move to its biggest and most amazing location to date: the picturesque Point Nepean Quarantine Station at Portsea.

Offering spectacular sweeping ocean views, the Point Nepean Quarantine Station is managed by Parks Victoria and promises to provide the perfect location and ultimate scenic setting for what has fast become one of the nation’s premier open-air musical and cultural events.

Comprising multiple stages featuring the illustrious likes of;
The Presets
Sneaky Sound System
Grandmaster Flash
Bertie Blackman
Lost Valentinos
Scientists of Modern Music
Miami Horror LIVE
Phrase
True Live
John Course
Kaz James
Grant Smillie
Canyons
Knightlife
Ajax
Bang Gang DJ's
Dangerous Dan
Acid Jacks
Andee Frost
Nick Foley

Plus more international and local artists to be announced shortly.

The Hot Barbeque 2010 will also see the inclusion of several food vendors from the Mornington Peninsula serving up and showcasing the region’s finest and freshest local produce.

So, prepare to embark upon a musical, cultural and culinary journey like no other as Hot Barbeque 2010 folds up the portable grill, and heads South to the Peninsula for a day-long summertime celebration of the finer things in life!

Stay tuned for more details!

[NOTE] What's on will be added once approved.

First Hot BBQ was one of the best festivals I've been to - this kinda looks like Parklife Part 2.

That said, it's an awesome place for a party. Crowd will be up for shenanigans in the sun so catering for a broader audience than the chin strokers was inevitable.

Still think I might go for GMF, Phrase & True Live. Get some local hip hop, beats & breaks acts on there and a separate stage could be awesome.

QFT. Am partially disappointed at the complete lack of what made Hot BBQ good and partially releived that I can save my money for something else.

Wow what a let down. Was expecting a cracking party with quality music by the beach but I guess it's not to be. This is hardly a Hot BBQ party.

After the lineup that summadayze had, I really thought this would be at least inetresting.

Fresh venue, stale blue cheese lineup.

There was the opportunity for a really top festival with the venue beach styles, but they've fallen short by trying to make a quick dollar off the summer punters with a lame lineup...

No creativiety in that lineup, may as well go to the beach and play MOS Annual 2010 and have my own beach party with no tools for free

Imagine that. He could hang out with Carl Cox, wear moccy's, smoke ciggies, get bogan tats, walk dangerous dogs, loose teeth and drink piss down by the pier while lookin for some trouble.

Could Future have an almighty flop on their hands here?

So many festivals on...hours of travel to get there, and getting out would be a nightmare, accomdation up there at that time is a premium + a fucking pants line up

Sounds like fail
