Six years is a long time in dance music and we have decided to celebrate in a large way with two extremely influential names in contemporary European electronic music. The Blow Your Own Way party series has provided enthusiastic Melbourne audiences with classic and cutting edge dancefloor DJs and producers for over half a decade. From the timeless sounds of Detroit’s Kenny Larkin, the futuristic and polished sound of Cologne’s Robert Babicz, Stockholm’s Aril Brikha to Glasgow’s Vince Watson and Swiss neo House spearhead Ripperton.

We are joined by the special team at HoolaHoop, renowned house music promoters in Melbourne, for this special occasion. Come and join us for what will be a stellar night of diverse and quality dance music from across the spectrum. We have chosen Roxanne’s two room venue with an all-new Nexo soundsystem as the perfect party space for our 6th birthday. Support from the finest locals.

Henrik Schwarz was born and raised in South Germany where he also took his first musical steps as a DJ in local Clubs playing Rap, Hip Hop, Jazz and Detroit Techno. Soon after he started to spin regularly he was also interested in computer music production and started to do his own tracks in 1992 with a few drum machines and synths. When he got his first laptop in 1998 he began integrating it in his DJ-Sets and soon the Laptop played an important role in all his music activities. The software got better and better and Henrik was enjoying the new possibilities
With original releases spanning the realms of house, soul, jazz and deep techno on labels like the legendary Innervisions, Henrik has become an extremely sought after performer throughout the world. Songs like “Imagination Limitation” came at a time in European electronic dance music that lacked depth and feeling and his remix of “Walk A Mile In My Shoes” for Coldcut on Ninja Tune became one of the biggest club hits of 2006. His music is always welcomed as a welcome relief on modern dancefloors. As a remixer Henrik has also been prolific having reworked the matrial of diverse artists such as Unkle, Underworld, Jesse Rose, Tosca, Jazzanova, Boy George, Carl Craig, Booka Shade and DJ Hell.
Although his DJ Kicks mix CD on !K7 became legendary among consumers and critics alike, it is his live shows of own productions and remixes that have left their mark of intensity and feeling with audiences. Providing soulful ammunition for live computer music and it’s detractors these shows take refined production and improvisation to another level. Henrik is a cult producer and performer.

The Parisian duo of Gilb’R and I:Cube formed in the late nineties through their relationship with Gilb’R’s label Versatile records. Beginning with I:Cube’s ep “Disko Cubism” (remixed by Daft Punk) the label gradually evolved into a diverse label with other artists such as Joakim and Etienne Jaumet (recently remixed by Melbourne’s Christian Vance). Initially just a remix pair, Chateau Flight have now released such classic originals as “Cosmic Race” and “Superflight.”
In addition to releases on Versatile, Chateau Flight have also been releasing singles on Dixon and Ame’s Innervisions label with many of their singles being licensed onto compilations for the likes of Get Physical, NRK, Rapster, Mule Musiq, Resist and more. Chateau flight have remixed the likes of Joakim, Beanfield, Air, Serge Gainsbourg and Atjazz for labels such as Ed Banger, !K7 and Poker Flat. An amazing discography. Chateau Flight will be represented on this tour by Gilb’R.
Behind the turntable, Gilb’r is one of the rare DJs to have tested many music fields and to have reached each time “excellence”. Dropping underground techno with 80’s Italo sounds, House with old school Hip Hop and Electro with forgotten Disco tracks, people on the floor never know what to expect. Now, playing in a club is a unique opportunity to show people his taste and respected producers : Maurice Fulton, Ame, Henrik Schwarz, Theo Parrish, Rekid (Quiet Village Project /Radio Slave), Emperor Machine etc. Gilb’R is part of French music royalty in the electronic scene.
