Thin people have a weight problem too
O.K. I'm gonna have a whinge. so bear with me.

I'm about 5ft 7inches tall and weigh just 56 kilo's. YES 56.

I'm sick to death of people saying stuff like "Oh my God, you're sooo thin, you should eat more"

FUCK YOU.

I'll challenge them to an eating contest any day.

would the same person walk up to a fat person and say "Oh my God, you're sooo fat, you should eat less"

I highly doubt it.

I happened to be 'blessed' with an extremely high metabolism. When the doctors did tests to find out why I can't put on weight, they said my metabolic rate was about 250% of a 'normal' person.

Alot of my friends have the same problem, we eat like horses but stay very thin. I personally eat every three hours, or I start getting dizzy.

anyway, I'm rambling now. bye.

I smell what ur cookin' bro. I spent all of last week purely eating and mixing (interesting combo) and couldn't put on any weight. Does sound like you have a bit of an issue with it though I'm biding my time until it's fashionable for guys to be skinny asses, then I'll POUNCE. Moo ha ha ha ha ha!

I saw a bit of Just Shoot Me last night and this guy, played by Hughie Lewis, asked Nina if she wanted to go to dinner, she responded

"Well I don't really eat but I'd be happy to tag along"

Hilarious, and a little naughty..

BRB, I see your point but what you have to do is make a condesending comment about the person who comments on your weight..

"geez, you should eat more, you're so skinny"

response " atleast I'm not a fucking moron " and walk off

Maybe you guys should STOP eating every couple of hours and jyust try to pig out bit time 2-3 times a day.... if you eat frequently it actually keeps your metabolic rate higher and promotes weight loss, just about any sensible diet/exercise programme will proscribe eating 5-6 times a day. If you stuff yourself then dont eat for a while your metabolism slows down and trys to store the energy as fat.
Alternatively enjoy being thin, I would!

If you're a guy and seriously want to bulk up, eat lotsa protein, hit the gym and when you're all buffed you can kick shit out of them 8-)

hmm... i know of many ppl in your situation... that just can't gain weight... i don't hate you... not all the time anyway. But its so much more socially acceptable to be thin than even slightly overweight.

And people don't tell me to watch my eating... coz its rude.. but when grossly overweight the looks you get sometimes aren't very nice.. (for the record i'm not grossly overweight.. at least i think i'm not)

Hey, at least you guys can go into clothes shops and try on sizes other than XL.... I sometimes think that every company that makes funky clothes forgets that guys my size or bigger exist, and I bet a lot of girls have the same problem. Even Bonds t-shirts over size 20 seem to be hard to find.

as a result of being extemely ill a few months ago, i lost 27 kilos in 6 weeks. very dramatic and noticable wieghtloss... which led my friends, parents, neighbors...nearly everyone that i saw once i had recovered from my sickness, to question, even assume that i had an eating disorder...this upset me..i wasnt even happy with the wieghtloss, even though i do look and feel better now, i was angry that i hadn't been able to lose it in a healthy way through excersice and diet, but instead lost it due to an illness. oh well. it meant i HAD to get a new wardrobe...and im not going to complain about that. 8-)

just a question regarding the high metabolisms...
does this affect you when you go out? if you pill....do you tend to throw up? i ask because a friend of a friend always throws up after having a pill and says it is due to his 'extremley high metabolism'. ?! just wondering

But you're not saying you have a weight problem per se are you? You're saying you're sick of people assuming you have a weight problem just because you have a fast metabolism.

I sympathise with the problem (why can't my metabolism be so fast? ), and I'm not having a go but it's hardly the same thing is it?

Breaks is right about finding clothes to fit smaller people but the real bitch isn't the waist it's the length of things.

I'm 5'8" approx and I have to get trousers taken up by about 6 to 8 inches. The general one length stuff just doesn't work. The part that's supposed to be the knee becomes the ankle and the cut goes out. It's a major pain.

In the UK they have leg lengths that are long, normal or short.
That way it's much easier to find decent cuts.

The same goes for t-shirts and jumpers and shirts. If I wanted to buy a nightshirt or a dressing gown I'd shop for one and then you have to roll the sleeves up half a mile cos they were designed to fit a chimp. Bloody neandethal Aussies

I solve this by going shopping for decent clothes every couple of years in the uk while I'm visiting family. But it's bloody expensive and not an option for most people.

Something I have discovered recently is Giordano. They're a Hong Kong clothing company and the cuts are designed to fit Asians. Just perfect for someone my height. They have factory outlet stores at Homebush and Market City, so you don't need to spend heaps either.

MissMuffet, in answer to your question. No, I do not have a weight 'problem'. especially NOT an eating disorder.

Just sick of the constant assumptions that I dont eat AT ALL and must be unhealthy.

and to answer izskies question, No, dont throw up on pills. have a fairly high tolerance level. I also prefer to crush 'em and snort 'em.
It does mean that I eat while on drugs tho', which most of my friends dont do.

I hear ya Lamb. I'm a shortass too, but that's a whole other thread. When shopping, I have to mentally add $15 to every pair of pants to allow for them to be taken up. (except Levi's engineered Jeans, 26 inch waist and 3 different leg lengths!!)

Being short isn't something I can change, so I've learnt to live with that. I'd love to put on 10 kilo's tho'

I know how you feel, I used to be like that, then I put on a heap of weight (I am still slim though, just not skinny!) It was prob cos I wasn't stressed anymore, I was happy and in a great relationship. I don't know how it happeded, but maybe your metabolism will slow down eventually, we at least a little bit

If not, it doesn't matter you can't help it and I'm sure you are beautiful just the way you are!

I find it's a double edged sword. I am constantly thankful for my ability to eat anything I want and stay looking the same, though despite this I make an effort to eat healthy.

However, very few clothes are made for tall skinny chaps, there seems to be an assumption that tall people are built like brick shithouses. Also I find it extremely difficult to put on muscle: I remember in high school rowing everyone else put on at least 10kg of muscle over the season and looked the part, I trained just as hard and struggled to put on 2. And, whilst most drugs come on quicker for me than for other people, I get over them quicker. Which makes getting smashed expensive.

I think the source of the whole problem is my lack of black skivvys in my cupboard.

Yep! Know what you mean Breaks!
People assume i dont eat!
And usually i eat more than they do!
Ive been called an ant, a stick, a noodle, a fish ?? a twig etc...

I eat a lot and must have a fast metabolism cos i dont exercise.
So now just unfit!
Can dance all night but can't run for more than 20 seconds!

People always say: "you've lost weight!" Bullshit. i havent changed, just everyone else keeps growing. Dont they realise
that i stopped at about 13!

Buying clothes is definitely difficult! Like some of the stuff in streetwear stores like 'glue'. I like pants a bit loose fitting sometimes but not to the point where a 'sml' can be pulled down without undoing!

Im only about 157cm tall, weight goes up and down between
45-47kg. But im also small boned if that stills counts!
However, i'll always have an advantage over the big people...

............... i will be able to go through the dog door! .......

:p
and for the record, im 22 not 13!

i dont really know how to put this without the potential for getting blasted

so im just gonna vent my thought

*im a fuller figured girl - size 14 somtimes 16 - do you have any idea how hard it is to find funky clothes in our size?

*sure you may be skinny naturally, and may find it hard to find clothes to fit, but you can always take them in, not with my clothes

*society is more accepting to women generally who are skinnier rather than bigger, you only have to look in magazines

*i used to have a friend in your situation as well, but she knew the truth, if ppl are on your back constantly about your weight, and you constantly put your gaurd up, of course they are going to think something is up

*YOU KNOW THE TRUTH- If you dont have an eating disorder then why should what ppl say bother you? Let them think what ever the hell they what

end of rant

btw, im not trying to step on anyones toes here, so apologies in advance if i do

Up until I was about 22 I used to way 68 kilo (I am 5-11 in height), I used to eat heaps of food and didn't do much exercise at all, I used to get all the your so skinny you should eat more crap and the I wish I had a metabolism like you. But then I started putting on weight and balooned out to 94 kilo's, I was eating heaps of food and doing no exercise and would cop shit of everyone except my fionse about being fat (cos she had put weight on too), people would try and grab my Man Boobies and I copped shit from friends, work collegues and even my old man. It was very depressing for me as I had never been overweight before and all the payouts were hurting my confidence. It all exploded with me and my fionse splitting up 2 days before my 25 th birthday last year and the realisation of I didn't like what I had become. I lost 19 Kilos in 7 weeks through exercise and good eating. I now at present weigh 72 Kilos and am getting the your so skinny coments again. There is no way in Hell you can compare them to a your so fat comment, or a you've put on so much weight comment, just hope that matabolism doesn't dissapear and you baloon out to the stage were people want to feel your Stomach to see if they can feel the baby.

If you really wanna put on weight, come and join me down the gym.

I went from being 60kgs to 75kgs when I started training.

When I stopped I dropped to 70kgs. Now I've started again the weight is climbing oh so slowly.

Jerry, know the feeling mate.... I was skinny for ages then in my mid 20s I ballooned out to 97kg (I'm 5'11.5). Managed to get back down to 82 and got lots of compliments about how much better I looked, but I need to exercise constantly to keep the weight off, when I moved over to Sydney and didn't go to the gym for a month I put 3kg back on. Enjoy those fast metabolisms while they last.....

I'm about 6ft (ugh I'm 180 cm and can never remember how many inches that is) and weigh about 70 kg. I also eat all the time. Since half my family were skinny when they were young, then bulked up and the other half just stayed as rakes, I'm unsure how I'll turn out.

But I don't really care, some chicks like skinny guys, some chicks like bulky guys, some chicks like paunchy guys, and thats the important thing in my mind. Who cares what someone who is so insecure about themselves that they have to put others down to feel better says. Deep down inside you know your sexy anyway.

People spend way to much time worrying about what people will think about them, that they could spend doing far more interesting things in, speaking of which I'm getting some more food.

im nearly 6ft.

(ok, so im verging on skinny as well, but thats not what i wanna post about)

it is impossible to buy clothes.

t shirts/singlet tops turn into britney-worthy midriff show-offerers.

pants turn into ankle freezers.

skirts just never look exactly right.

it sucks.

Hey i have heaps of spare weight if you want some? ;P
Alcoholic - A label slapped onto people who know how to enjoy life and don't mind occasional bouts of blacking out, bedwetting, the clap and regrettable one-night stands, applied by people with sticks up there bums who have repressed every iota of pleasure and desire and are teetotalers for no other reason than they are TOO FUCKING SCARED that someone might find out how they're dying to fuck their sister.

Ann called Ginger an alcoholic after Ginger ordered a second Absolut Hunk; meanwhile, Ann sipped on her diet sprite and fantasized about piercing her clit.

Werd to miss redski.

Anyway, at 6ft, I used be a size 6-8. People called me "Junkie" or "Species" (cos of my spine- it was a great look)... I felt so unfemme. Sometimes other girls would be all like "Omg you have the BEST body!" and I'd be like "Huh? My hipbones stick out further than my stomach does..."

After a year of concerted eating (chronic stoner aktion+tim tams did it for me) I'm now normal sized, but I sympathize with the skinny-minnies out there, or anyone who has ever had snide remarks made about their weight.
The drinks were few and the people many. It was everything I expected and less.

"too strung up to sleep"

Aah,this is my kinda thread! hehehe...kidding...but i am gonna have a rant, cos this has been pissing me off since puberty

Im about 5"6 1/2 (i think) and last time i weighed myself...hang on,il double check....ok,im 52kg's fully clothed and after lots of food...so yeah,im a teeny tiny size 6,and i eat like a pig.

Im not complaining about my weight,i love it! Love the fact that i dont have to diet and stress myself out...but peoples attitudes towards the whole thing really suck

I dont know if its easier or harder for me cos im female....females are "supposed" to be thin,so in that sense its easier.BUT,chicks pay more attention to other chicks than guys do to guys, and they whinge and moan and bitch and accuse the other of starving themselves

All thru high school: "OMG,eat something! Put some weight on!"
And i,in all my innocence, would say "I cant! I eat heaps and i cant!" and would inadvertantly make the situation worse

Yes,shopping can be a bit of a pain...asking the sales assisstant if they have anything smaller than small and getting sneered at is not fun.

But what really gets me is all the articles and shite in magazines,on tv,emails, etc. that crap on about how big is beautiful, curvy is feminine, and skinny is "un-natural"..... UN-NATURAL!!! Ive read that sooooo many times, referring to models and saying that people with those sort of bodies are FREAKS OF NATURE...well thats the sort of body i have, and i dont appreciate hearing that im a freak just so bigger people can feel better about themselves.

And i hate getting emails from my friends with all that crap about how if barbie was real her neck would snap, and how men like curves and "u are ALL woman" and blah blah blah.....dont they think???!!!

Bumpa I'm with ya babe. Several time I have actually had chicks say to me "oh you skinny bitch"...

The fact is I'd love to have curves, I'd love to have the roundedness and voluputousness of a goddess but naked I look like a pre pubesent boy... and breasts... I'd play with myself all day if I had em! but hey I have learned that you just dont take other peoples perceptions too seriously...fuckem

I's what you do with what ya got that counts.

I once had a really skinny boyfriend and we used to say that when we shagged we looked like 2 Xrays rubbin together. You could almost hear our bones rattling!

yeh i know where ur coming from BRB.
im pretty skinny too, and guess wat, I WEIGH 56KG TOO!!! we have something in common. but im in year 10. and im sortof tall, taller than most people, not as tall as some.
sometimes people at school say, oh ur so skinny josh. its cool when the girls say it, i just say, yeh so r u. but if a guy says it, then it pisses me off. i say, yeh well least im not fat, or something like that.
i havnt really tried putting on weight, but i eat a fair bit, and i do a fair bit of exercise. if i stopped doing exercise and playing sport, and started lying on the couch watching movies and eating chips then i would probs put on weight. but i think ive got a fast metabolism thingy too, even though i dont know wat it is exactly.....

yup im thin too, and i cop the same shit.

its not cuz i dont eat much, i'm just thin! i gobble down plenty of food every day.

i think the point of the thread is (correct me if i'm wrong), its fucking annoying when people (including ur friends) say "you need to put on some weight", or "eat more" ....

it seems that its alright to hassle someone for being thin, but not to pay someone out for bein a fatass.

but in the end, i dont really mind, cuz i pay people out for being fatasses all the time :p
