I gave him the ID and he confirmed it!

Hmm now does anyone have this in their vinyl collection somewhere to make a nice crispy rip?

That one's from Planetary Funk Volume 6 - the track is called Raise Up

Had it on a CD, might have been the B-side to a better known track, thinking it may even have been an Aussie artist/group, just for the life of me I can't recall any more details.

Anyway, it featured completely out of the blue in a Getaway episode a couple of months back.

http://getaway.ninemsn.com.au/videos/

Search videos: "Lefkada, Greece"
Select it, then drag the player to 5mins, 30secs onwards.

Anyone heard it before? Know it even?

Anyone had a chance to give this one a listen? Even to say, 'no idea?'

Dunno, but that badass synth riff in the middle has featured (originally?) in another track.

EDIT: Actually, yeah, thinking about it some more, that synth riff has been either been ripped from a DJ Edge track (ie. Edge Records # something-or-another) or its a track that was played by him eg. On that DJ Edge vs Nik Fish tape, "Manifestation".

Yep, my money's on it being originally an Edge release, um, but without the horn thing and *that* tacky Eurovision-esque MC.

Oh happy days!

Thank you SO much for finding that one for me... i've literally been looking for it since I first heard it on THAT 1995 JJJ mixup.

I'm gonna have to give Jamie a big hug the next time I see him too! I just knew it had to be a local track... sounds nothing like any other artists from the time.

Im off to discogs to buy the copy Spectrum mentioned

Hello people,
I'm brand new on this forum and it seems that you guys are pretty good to find out ID's tracks!
Here is my problem: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KKC1R92A
Can anybody tell me who is this?
If I remember well, I must have recorded it on Kiss FM, London,UK between 1998 and 2002 and might be a part of a Colin Faver mix!
The mix is about 1 hour long but I only managed to find 2 track's ID: Stepback by Slam and Turkish Bazaar by Emmanuel Top!
I just can't find what is the song I uploded there (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KKC1R92A)
Any clue will be more than welcome, Thanks!

I borrowed the movie the the rise of the footsoldier of a mate the other day and it had a really good soundtrack of all these late eighties/early nineties rave/dance tracks, as it was a dodgly Thai copy the credits weren’t all there. There is this one song I am searching for that Tom Middleton played in his set at Playground Weekender that is in the movie. It’s probably halfway into or so, I have been searching for the tracklisting from the movie online and have been unable to find one but have ruled out the following from the movie in my search:

a guy called gerald - voodoo ray
kariya - let me love you for tonight
lil louis - french kiss
xpansions – move your body
Heaven Knows" written by Nigel Champion and sung by Austin Howard.
Smoke and Mirrors - RJD2
Cappella - U Got 2 Know

The tune has this awesome piano bit in it at the start with no beat and when Middleton played it at Playground he was playing all this acid and then he dropped it (mid set) and the crowd when ballistic, any help would be appreciated!

Also, a remix of track 23 is featured in this clip of Marusha playing at the Mayday 1994 rave in germany (at the 3:48 mark). This might with some digging reveal the name of the original

No idea, but...

ID1 is reminiscent of Komakino's "Outface" (it's even in the same key when played side by side, just switch the bouncy groove for a breakbeat).

ID2 is reminiscent of Microwave Prince's "I Need Your Love" (in a more relaxed housier vibe.)

Sorry dude, I got nuttin'.

Doesn't sound like Go by Moby unless it's a wierd ass arrangement. Moby sampled the Twin Peaks theme. I don't think he actually made the track for Twin Peaks.

Heard an absolute corker of a track yesterday that I hadnt heard for at least 15 years. Its samples the vocal from 'You've got the love' by Candi Stanton saying "I know, I know, I can count on you". Has a piano riff under the vocal and a big breakdown section with a flute sample.

Anyone know it?

yep sure do mate... Can't recall the name off the top of my head, but I have it laying about somewhere - I'll trawl through and see if I can't dig it up!

Cheers,

Paulie
