Coming in late to the party, but fuck me this is good! So dark and twisted, yet fucking funny at times, too! A++

BBT is so damned good
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

Just binged the whole series. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

I think one of the most amusing lines is where it's just casually mentioned that Malvo killed 22 people in the spree

Oh and this of course.

Is nobody else watching this is or is this place so dead these days that we need to merge all the TV threads? Best current show on TV for mine.

Mods, if you actually read this, might as well merge the telly threads

So much to love about this show, Every character is interesting and has their own little quirks and motives. Too many stellar performances to single out one.

It's pretty good, but not in the same league as last years, I'm afraid I'm getting true detectives II vibes, ok maybe that's too nasty, just saying that I don't find it as riveting as last years, but that was a pretty high bar. Still going to watch.
And I vote against merging.

Dude, that is WAY too nasty, TD 2 was a dog's breakfast, Fargo S2 is in nobody's world still less than very good, critically its being rated higher than S1. The main difference from S1 is it doesn't a single bad-ass villian like Lorne Malvo but all the manouvering between the various Gerhartts and the Kansas City faction more than makes up for that.

I'm also enjoying it more than season 1.

The cast, the black humour, the twisted story.

What's funny is that I see Angus Sampson, even though he has had lots of substantial roles, always as the even-bigger-arsehole dog he played in Wilfred.

I like Patrick Wilson. He has that memorable face but the lesser known name. Good actor.

What I really enjoy with this show is the use of comedy actors in serious roles, adds to the quirkiness of it all.

@Gruso: I love that that is such a peripheral thing. In the viewer it's there but semi-conscious like one of those micro-dreams you have when you hit snooze and fall back into your brain and then wake up thinking what the fuck was that all about. It's elusive. If the writers/creator wanted to they could make it more explicit but the choice not to is one of the reasons why I love this second season, where I thought the first - good as it was - was just an elongated homage to the movie. If it gets explained by the end of the season I'll be angry.

He's fantastic in this too, I think he anchors the show brilliantly every time he's on screen.

Oh hell yes. Kirsten Dunst definitely had her moment there and she nailed it.

Loved Hanzee's turn in this episode too, gonna be interesting to see what becomes of him now, he's pretty much a wild card at this point. One thing seems pretty certain, his body count is gonna keep growing.

The ongoing colour theme is pretty cool too. That last episode was fucking sublime; amazing acting and script - some if it was hilariously dark.

Holy shit, called it on Hanzee's body count, that was total carnage!

Also Peggy gets the best line again:

Spoiler:
"It's just a flying saucer Ed, let's go!"

Spoiler:
Rye Gerhardt, the youngest Gerhardt brother, is standing on the road, after killing the judge in the Diner, transfixed by the UFO, when Peggy hits him with her car. I think it's 1st or 2nd ep. I'm pretty sure the UFO comes into the show on one other occasion (possibly Dodd's slightly disabled son sees it but I can't remember tbh). I also think Nick Offerman's character has a spiel about UFOs in one of the middle episodes.

Ok my curiosity was piqued from quickly skimming this thread recently. I just finished the first episode and wow, that was great! I don't know why I didn't pick this up earlier but I'm kinda glad because there's two seasons to be watched now
