Sure but the whole point is that he walks into the draft having agreed a salary with his club of choice. He then refuses to play for anyone unless they are match that.

If it's too much, he falls to the club of choice. If someone drafts him and matches it, he got what he wanted, at least financially.

I'm not a massive fan of Crameri and I'm not sure he was what the Dogs really need....History will record that as a win for the Bombers for mine. Still, I can see why the Dogs are trying to bolster their forward line.

he should compliment campbell, jones & grant as long as they keep improving, could end up being a fairly potent forward line next year

Won the bombers goal kicking last three years so a second round pick is a good deal by the dogs IMO.

He just seems like a similar type to what the dogs already have.

Cramieri would be good as a 2nd or 3rd option. Has talent but needa consistency. It wasnt hard to lead the dons in goal kicking the last few yeara though. We have a very dysfunctional forward line.

I think he benefited from flying under the radar a bit at the Bombers and will get shown up in a side without other forwards spreading the field for him.

He's almost an identicial size to me (ie tiny for an AFL "key" forward). He's 2 inches shorter than Watson ffs.

Docherty done for pick 33....See how you goes but relatively happy with that given he went pick 12 2 years ago.

Surely Yeo? That has been reported as all but over the line for days

MacKay just said we are into Everitt. Not sure how I feel about that...Has taken his sweet ass time but looked ok last year.

Crameri can take a good contested mark for his height, is good on the ground, and has a good engine.

His problem is consistency.

I think its a good deal for us tbh

I understand that pretty much noone on here watches the dogs play but i obviously do and crameri is exactly what we need. It doesn't matter whether he is 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th forward, he provides us with something different (IHAVENOLEGS not sure who you think he is similar to?).

Having him there will release, jones, grant, campbell and also allow for us to integrate stringer into playing regular games. We were scoring 100+ points regularly in the last 7-8 games and really started to click when grant put his head down. getting it done for pick 26 is a win for us in a shallow draft, it's clear we are just going to hedge bets on pick 4 (hopefully scharenburg) and continue to develop the absolute gems we picked up last year. wouldn't surprise me at all if we scraped into the 8.

Yeo, Docherty and Polec gone. Busy day getting bent over for the Lions. Cheers lads, hope you all play reserves for the rest of your careers.

I like the Doggies and I think Crameri is a great pick up. Hopefully the team kicks on next year.

Fair enough... I just don't think he'll be anywhere near as effective in a weaker forward line. To succeed as a 6"1' marking forward, you need space and I don't think those other blokes command the respect required to create it.... He's the cherry on the top type for a top 4 side who need 20-30 goals from a third option.

honestly, i look at essendons forward line on paper now (and i know i will get shot down for this) but based on the back end of 2013 plus the addition of crameri i actually think we have their forward line covered.

Geez man....Not sure too many would share that view, particularly if we are focussing on the KP/Marking types.

I've watched enough of the Doggies to form the view that the current KPs have a limited ceiling. Jarrad Grant is an absolute tweener, he's smaller than Andrew Walker and hasn't put on any weight in 6 years....there wouldn't be many outside Doggies fans that give him the time of day. Campbell has shown a little bit but you couldn't say he's doing anything more than a bunch of other rookie drafted KPs (Rowe and Casboult at Carlton spring to mind). That said, I rate Liam Jones. And Stringer is a gun (but really shouldn't be playing up there).

But arguing the Doggies have a decent forward line (much less have a better one than the Bombers) is hard to justify. I'd argue that we have the Doggies comfortably covered between Waite, Henderson, Kreuzer, Casboult/Rowe, Gartlett and Yarran but no one is saying we have a good forward line (and with good reason.)

I saw this posted on a forum. GWS side come next year:

B: Buntine (pick five) Tomlinson (pick nine) Jaksch (pick 12)
HB: Hampton (zone) Mohr (zone) Plowman (pick three)
C: Whitfield (pick one) Greene (pick 11) O'Rourke (pick two)
HF: Cameron (zone) Boyd (pick one) Hoskin-Elliott (pick four)
F: Smith (pick 14) Patton (pick one) Sumner (pick ten)
R: Downie (zone) Coniglio (pick two) Shiel (zone)

I/C: Kelly (pick two) Treloar (zone) Haynes (pick 7) Bugg (zone)

National draft selections: Corr (pick 14) Stewart (pick 27) Pick 14 Pick 29

Zone selections: Wilson Townsend Kennedy Golds Errin Wasley-Black (potential zone selection in 2013)

Squad doesn't include Scully, Ward, Davis, Lamb, Palmer, Shaw and Mumford.

We're all doomed.

Are they saying what we are giving up? He could be a nice addition but I'm not sure I'd be giving up our second rounder for him.

Your list manager said not sure if swans want players or picks yet. He only told the blues late last night he wanted to go there.

Interesting one Andrejs. Shown glimpses but so inconsistent but slots in very well in your back line and frees up a couple of the blokes that have been your part timers.

Yeah...although he's not a 'runner' per se, it would free up the the likes of Walker and Touhy to to go through the midfield and wing.

OK.

The Lions are going to sign Trent West.

Carlton talk probably doesn't look so bad now...

A-league has its sucking moments, but it's a fuckload better than watching 20/20 cricket :/ Tards vs United @ Hindmarsh last weekend was a cracker.

Off to the durka dome to watch Ange's last match as victory manager.

crameri is a good pick up for the doggies as it free's up jones a bit.

jones is going to be a gun. the only problem is that every week his opponent is the oppositions no.1 defenseman.

crameri should solve this problem somewhat.

my minds not yet made-up on the talk of everitt. i didn't MIND him at the swans, i just don't think getting him in is necessary. he shows glimpses and could be good. he'll probably come in handy when that fucking muppet waite decides to head-butt someone and then his back gives out

I'm not entirely sure how Crameri will have any impact on who plays on Jones. They attract completely different types of defenders given their respective heights. Chegoons point about him freeing up Stringer to move into the middle is a good one though.

I'm just a jilted lover. Canberra Cosmos for life.

Longer is a good get for the Saints. Fark Brisbane have been turned over...I think pick 25 will prove to be an absolute steal.
