Gold Coast Marathon 2012 (Not running = cant post)
Eddie has committed to running a marathon and that is a big thing. I mean the guy couldnt run for a minute before and now he is contemplating a marathon in what was referred too as the 'best trolling in the history trolling' I have no idea what that means.

Anyway this needs its own thread and as I will be running this marathon too I ask others to sign up.

I was out for a run last night and I was thinking I should do a marathon before I reach 40 (in 2yrs). Got some lung issue giving me trouble (could be effects of a pneumothorax I had a few yrs ago coming back) and if I can get it sorted then I reckon I'm in. Maybe Sydney later in the year though is a more reasonable timeframe for me. At present pain starts hitting about 30min into a run so I'm basically restricted to 5km and then I have to slow to a walk and I'd rather die than walk a marathon.

Trying to plot out a 5 day a week, during school hours training schedule at the moment. If I can find a way to work the weights in around it all I may be able to commit. Hopefully the bite has gone enough from summer to be able to do long runs during the day.

drive back to brisbane in the arvo

I'm in for some pain when I get back - came here with good intentions of running - but fun got in the way.

Reckon I'll try and get as many 5 click 'easy' runs in as I can manage in the first week back. Hopefully a fortnight off wont have screwed the pooch too badly.

Good that they get the HMers out of the way first. In the Melbourne one they send them out halfway through the full marathon which is so shitty for the faster marathoners trying to push through traffic.

Whenever I've done the Melbourne half, the half went first and the vast majority were out of the way up Fitzroy st by the time the full guys come through....
