^ Exactly what I thought mate when I first heard who had the booking. From the recent article on Racket I found this particular quote interesting, and perhaps relevant to your post -

" Knowing how to pick ‘em is something the Racketeers take seriously. I ask Simon if there are any names on the Mad Racket wish-list. “There are a few, but if I tell you then someone might try and do them instead of us,” he says. “It’s a bit cut-throat out there at times, with certain unnamed people becoming interested in artists only after someone else is trying to work with them. It’s not nice. Enough said, I am sure they know who they are.” "

Quote:

I don't go to be in the VIP area.. I don't need big breaks, a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons.. I'm just going for the music.

Finale Sessions has started a revisited series. It is safe to assume that it is a response to the obsession that Fred P's Emotive Vibrations invokes in the people that hear it.

Finale Revisited Vol 1 [Finale Sessions FSR001]

A. Fred P - Emotive Vibrations (from Finale Sessions Vol 1)
B. Fred P - Dawn (from Finale Sessions Vol 4)

It seems that Juno is already sold out so you will want to get in quick to avoid having to pay the inevitable inflated prices.

Whoa! Been hoping for a re-press of some kind. That track is magic, BSU played it in the wee hours in Syd just 2 weeks ago. Never fails to tug at the heart strings Gonna have to jump on this, cheers!

Parasole has a new record label, The Corner

First up is the Tri State EP [COR-01] which includes two tracks from Nor'Easter, whoever that is, and a very familiar track from DJ Qu. The Nor'Easter stuff isn't something I'd normally listen to but it certainly isn't offensive (as I find some hip-hop can be).

http://www.discogs.com/NorEaster-Dj-...elease/3651852

Nor'Easter "Cuttin' Heads"

DJ Qu "Time Like This"

Nor'Easter "Tristate"

I'm obviously getting impatient for the Parasole productions (his contribution to Levon's Fabric CD has done nothing to dampen expectations). Knowing my luck they'll get released, I'll forget and the EPs will be fetching a minimum of 35 euros on discogs having sold out at all the retailers.

The second release on Parasole's The Corner will be Anthony Parasole & Phil Moffa ‎– Atlantic Ave [COR-02]

As much as I enjoy everything about the artists and DJs and their counterparts who were the original subjects of this thread I do long for the days when things were a little heavier and much darker.

New York's Fred P (a.k.a. Black Jazz Consortium) is set to release his first installment of an EP trilogy he's calling Codes And Metaphors. Part 1 is said to be a silky-smooth combination of jazz fusion and deep house that features Japanese vocalist Minako (who is debuting her own album for in the near future) and Fred P's piano skills across its three original tracks. The b-side of that record also holds a more club-ready, synth-laden remix from London producer Simbad. Before Black Jazz Consortium's Codes and Metaphors Part 1 drops via his own Soul People label on October 3, you can stream snippets of each of its tunes below.

Those of you who are interested in this thread have probably already paid some attention to Kris Wadsworth.

Just in case you've missed him check out his sets linked at http://www.inthemix.com.au/forum/sho...d.php?t=265680

I fully expect that fans of sets by Parasole, Vincent and Cloutier, in particular, will have really enjoy KW's style.

Yeah, that mix is one of those special ones where every track seems to be as good or better than the last. Rare that every tune in a mix is that good, however this mix is one of those rare ones.

Seems you're not the only person after the tracklist either. lol @ Dave's comment. And seems others agree from other comments! Eric is usually pretty good with answering questions to IDs, thinking you could probably get 1 or 2 out of him.

Really disappointed that I didn't get to see him when he played in Syd, had my football (soccer) grand final the next morning. Was shattered, was one of the few gigs that I actually wanted to go to this year, have been pretty selective and have hardly gone out looking back at 2012. Good to hear that the reviews were all so positive for every gig he played at though.

New Levon Vincent / Novel Sound release Stereo Systems is basically out.

http://www.discogs.com/Levon-Vincent...elease/4081330

Stereo Systems is one of the previously unreleased bombs from his Fabric CD. Surprisingly enough there is not a clip on you tube. You'll have to make do with the juno clips:

http://www.juno.co.uk/products/stere...mer/476755-01/

I was hoping that Rainstorm II (the awesome 80s work out video tune which is second last track on the Fabric CD) would get a gig. But we'll have to keep waiting.

New LWE set from Levon is another belter. More on the techno tip in the vein of the darker, dubbier NYC sound of old. It is just another of the seemingly many, and equally as, fascinating sides to the man.

LWE Podcast 149: Levon Vincent

http://www.littlewhiteearbuds.com/po...levon-vincent/

Tracklist:

01. Mark Enestus, “Meets BBC” [Honest Jon's Records]
02. Shifted, “Trouble” [Mote Evolver]
03. Ryo Murakami, “Night Dew” [Baud]
04. Vtothed, “NYE Space Session” [white]
05. Radio Slave, “RJ” [Running Back]
06. Brothers Vibe, “Because Of You Dub” [Jersey Underground]
07. Manzel, “Manzel #001″ [Manzel]
08. Marcel Dettmann, “Push” [Ostgut Ton]
09. Prince of Denmark, “To the 50 Engineers” [Giegling Staub]
10. Unknown artist, “???”
11. DJ Qu, “In This Society” [Strength Music]
12. DJ Qu, “Circuits” [Strength Music]
13. Los Niños “DIRTY”
14. Dario Zenker, “Works” [Vakant]
15. Gkahn, “Weird And Radical” [Semantica Records]
16. New World Aquarium, “Energy” [New Religion]
17. Minstry, “All Day”

This mix is really good. Track 10 definitely stood out.. form around 51:30 - 56:00. They are some crazy synths! Massive feel good tune...

Also really liked Prince of Denmark - To the 50 Engineers. That is bliss. Will be checking out more of him (eg the LWE podcast you put up), and also this mix from mix of the day on RA - http://www.residentadvisor.net/feed-item.aspx?id=56414

I don't go to be in the VIP area.. I don't need big breaks, a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons.. I'm just going for the music.
