Rumors floating round that Debuchy is out for a couple of months. Lucky AWTF went out and got some defensive cover..... oh wait.....

Had a good laugh at the commentator spending a good portion of the game calling out Ozil. AWTF at it again playing him on left wing.

Spoiler:
Arsene Wenger Tactical Fuckwit

As brilliant as di Maria was, involved in all four goals, boundless energy and superb vision.... Let's not overlook blinds contribution yesterday. Guy looked like he had anchored that midfield for years and his calmness and protection worked perfectly with herreras energy and thrust. Obviously very early days but I think blind could be important for us, and was probably the closest thing to Hargreaves we have had since his few games for us.

Oh and a shout out to young Blackett who I thought was great as well.. Nice to see a young mancunion in the team still....

Great to watch, exciting stuff... Only thing now is how lvg fits in falcao to the mix and how our defence copes with a decent attack. Though Rafael and rojo brought a huge amount of mobility to the team over young and Valencia..

Not sure a brain fart was the problem with our 2nd goal. It looked to me that was a management call -- Arsenal were zonal marking the corner instead of man marking, leaving a few people free... not just Dimichelis?

I don't agree with Bozza much but he was spot on imo when he said that defending corners should be a mixture of man on man marking and zonal marking. Arsenal do neither. It's been pretty bad for a few years now. I really don't know what they are doing because we concede from corners so often and it was a decent corner by City but it wasn't anything other than competent. We concede way too many goals by not varying our build up play by not having more shots from outside the box (we end up with 5 or 6 players too offensive) which lets teams rebound on us, leaving our defence exposed so they give away free-kicks or corners and then we get scored on.

Exactly. I'm ok with zonal marking, but you need to pick someone up. Anyone. That's kind of the point. If you just stand there like a statue, the other team will score.

It was a good win by United no doubt. Against QPR. We will probably lose one and draw one against them but they look like absolute gobshite.

Agreed, qpr will be going down if things don't change around quickly, they were terrible.. The amount of space the afforded us was crazy.

Callum chambers fucked up, ball watching.

We've been missing Giroud on corners, he was an excellent in the centre.

Agreed all round. I also thought Herrera was excellent. Pass and move - always looking to move the ball quickly and create space off the ball. Took his goal well and also had an assist. Put in some excellent tackles too and was always looking to win the ball back in the opponent's half. Very complete performance for a CM.
I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

Rojo looked the goods at left back as well. I know he's a CB by trade, but given United have a lot of depth at CB Shaw might have some competition on his hands?

you guys getting all pumped up about beating QPR is about on par with when you all started fapping over beating LA Galaxy in pre-season.

Can't see Bruce leaving Hull, he's building a fairly decent team there. The media are on it because Hull's owner is threatening to sell yet again thinking it might drive Bruce out, but really -- the owner backed Bruce to the hilt in the transfer window, and the one before, so it doesn't compute to me.

Plus Newcastle have been on the market (for the right price) for years anyway. So if ownership was a factor the choice really seems really six of one half a dozen of the other?

Steve Bruce, as a Geordie, has always wanted the job though. I think that's where the media are going with that one.

Could do worse than Moyes. Sif Benitez would want the Newcastle job. Pulis would probably give us decent results playing ugly football.... and if he couldn't work with Parish I don't know how he'd go with fat Mike.

Evans, Jones, Smalling, Blackett... none of them are terrible players, mostly just young. Evans is the only one over 25.

Rojo is a CB, Blind can play the left side of a back 3, and probably even Carrick (where else is he going to play when he's fit again? Can't see him dislodging Blind/Herrera in CM)

That's 7 capable players for that position... .

I guess the hard thing from a United fan's point of view is you've lost two formerly world class CBs in the last window and replaced them with youth. Sure they might not be as experienced as Vidic and Rio but you have to have faith in them sooner or later?

All have had extended runs in the first team without really grasping the opportunity:

Jones - probably the best prospect but makes too many simple errors for my liking.
Evans - couldn't play basic five yard passes against QPR
Smalling - meh
Blackett - looks good at times but inexperience really shows at other times

Rojo imo was bought as a CB and will start there unless he loses form or Shaw gets injured.

I don't think we'll see a back three again for a while, particularly given how well the diamond suits our midfield.

so apparently Wayne Rooney was clocked as the fastest player on the pitch against QPR on Sunday, outpacing Di Maria, Herrera, and Januzaj. I keep looking out the window to see pigs flying.

Muscat admitted after the grand final loss to Sydney FC last month that he would be haunted for some time for sending his spot kick into the post, a miss which helped Sydney claim the championship.

Outplayed today. Really struggled in the midfield.

Playing Steven and Lucas together... Bad.
