Jon Convex clashing with Fort Knox Five / Opiuo is a little rough but mostly decent apart from that. Saturday looks flat for my tastes, hopefully I discover something awesome and new.

But it's all about the all day session Sunday afternoon -> evening at the river. Massive times.

Paradiso Sat arvo night from 4pm with marco to james walsh at 8am sunday

Then that ending on the river stage sunday with antix, perfect stranger, eelke and alexander

wowser

plus theres a hell of a lot more going on

River stage on Sunday looks the goods. Lol at Red Robin closing main stage, be steering well clear of the boring tech house he plays.

Friday night looks the goods for me; and Sunday night is making me rethink my plans to leave just before the music finishes.

I assume the times are done to get people in earlier on friday rather than 50% of people turning up between 5pm & 8pm?

Regardless. Well done. I can't wait!

At that time allow 4hrs. Anyone leaving after 4:30 or so should allow up to 5.

That Friday night across all stages and the Sunday river stage session are going to be mental. Theres so much quality on the lineup, id love to pull off a super session from Lovechild 8am Sunday morning through to Amir alexander to close.
Wanted to see the psy in the chapel but also want to save myself for that Sunday session down at the river.

Going to be another epic weekend

amazing, amazing amazing.
First time going and that was one of the best weekends I've ever ever had. So much time and effort put into the festival, with so much to do.

Like many, Chic ft. Nile Rogers was my highlight, once in a lifetime opportunity, they were perfection.
As for my fav DJ set, easily being Jimi Polar, some of the best tunes and mixing I've seen. Hell the locals did more for me than the internationals.
Personally I thought the internationals were to much on the tech-house side, same same beat for too much of the time.

Also can't forget about the food, Franchi brothers pizza, absolute delish, the felafel stand = amazing, the yemeni stand = yum.

As for the crowd, such an good vibe coming from everyone.

Lastly, shout out to the cops that just stood there and watched, not really harassing anyone, hell even the security were friendly, saw a guy off this chops that nearly fell into the DJ, seco took him to the bar and got a bottle of water for him, sat him down and told to him to rest for 5 minutes, then come back. How good is that.

Devo I missed this year (after 3 years in a row).

Earthcore did suffice well though!

Wasn't that the blight last year from dozens of people, that there was too much tech house?!

You need to diversify your musics...

Just wow.
This was my 4th, and it was easily the best. Everything sounded great, main stage was alive and pumping with some really great, varied stuff. Chic killed it; it was impossible to get the smile off my face. Opiuo was fantastic once again, and Nico Stojan was the set of the weekend for me.

Made some ripping new friends, and have come out relatively unscathed. Back to work tomorrow with a long long wait for next year.

Thanks subsonic!

Was another epic weekend.

Eelke kleijn was my favourite set of the weekend, one of the best sets i've seen, so many good tunes and played a bit harder than what i expected, also helped by the vibe on the river stage yesterday.

Nico Stojan, Perfect Stranger, Tactical Aspect and Nocturnal were all other standouts for me.

Excellent weekend, it was our 3rd & I think the best so far (Although it's always going to be difficult beating the 1st Subsonic, the experience & all).

Bit of tech-house overload again like last year, but the periods of time things stepped up a notch it was fantastic.
Enjoyed Microtrauma, Trinity, Nico Stojan was excellent & thought Antix played a lovely set.

Eelke Kleijn the standout for mine though, locked into a groove & played some killer tunes perfect for the setting.

Crowd was much better this year, didn't seem to be so many shits running around & as it's been pointed out the Security were much more relaxed. Think you'll notice on your wrist band the dates for 2014, so lock in a 4th year!

Great crowd, friendly security, great organisation, and improved sound systems. Everything seemed a bit better run this year, and there were more people, had a great time.

Loved Amir Alexander's set on Sunday night, great energy, so acid, much wow.

Opiuo, Sun:Monx and Perfect Stranger were all superb. As was the little I saw of Jon Convex and Microtrauma.

Apart from that a lot of dull tech house but that meant a lot of chill time in the day which was ace.

I liked how the main stage was set up, all those bamboo structures and those raised platforms gave it a more closed in/intimate feel, had a fun time there Sat night.
Enjoyed perfect stranger and Eelke on the Sunday but after having a sneezing fit from the dust had to head to the main stage for a bit which was also enjoyable.
Nico Stojan was fun again, he looks like he has a great time mixing.

there was still much of that, yet i did get to hear some variety in music, e.g. hearing Shpongle at the River stage.

though, Turmspringer was just about OK on the Saturday night, but i was missing the 2012 quality of Acid Pauli vs NU.

this is probably due to Stereosonic being on the weekend before.
in 2012, Stereosonic was 2-weeks before Subsonic, which gives them enough time to recover from come-downs, therefore Subsonic needs to take place, the weekend after Stereosonic every year then!

Wow! What an amazing weekend!
Got there on Friday afternoon and jumped straight into it. Admittedly I was living it up in luxury with a fully decked out camper van complete with air con, shower etc. The sound at every stage was spot on! Crystal clear and programmed to perfection. The sound engineers were like ninjas and pounced on any DJ who started redlining. Very impressed. The stage artwork and decorations around the festival were second to none. They really go above and beyond to create a playground for the punters and I really think they nailed it this year. The Teddy Bear pit, Bamboo Forest, Paradiso stage. All of it was AMAZING! Security, staff and punters were super friendly. You could tell by the music, people and costumes etc, that you were experiencing something special.

The highlights on the music front for me were Nadja Lind, Microtrauma, Eelke and Turmspringer.
Turmspringer took the crowning glory for me. That set was mind-blowingly good!! So glitchy and driving! You just don't hear techno like that in Sydney. Loved every minute of it.
Festival highlight was running into them randomly on Sunday night after the festival had finished. Got to talk Techno, music production and just hang out with them for a good hour or 2 before hitting the dance floor for the after party. Seriously awesome way to top off an amazing weekend!

Bring on Subsonic 2014!! Can Not Wait!!

First and foremost- HUGE respect to organisers for all your devotion and hard work thru the year, thank you! But whatever happened to the music at this years festival??! Whats with those boring stupid monotonous tech beats every 2nd or every 1st beat , that went nowhere and didnt take your hand and make you fly. Whereas the last years Subs was one fucking mind blowing act after another. SQL. Cats n dogs. That US dude that closed the main stage To name a few. This year i was driving home , mind still un-blown and feeling short-changed. Im not a music industry person so i might be speaking in wrong words but what im looking for on the dancefloor,is this place where you gotta scream of ecstaticness and getting lifted to that higher place by the music without having to take drugs. I refuse to take drugs in order to make the noise bearable. LeoOch, Nick McMartin, wildcat and Volta and Franchi bros know how to do it well. - missed their sets this time. Dont change guys. R-music festival has been the party with most tasteful and consistently good music ive seen in this country. If Subs doesnt go back to ecstatic funky groovy music you can make passionate love to on the dancefloor, they've lost me.

I agree there's still too much tech-house, but definitely not as much this year compared to last. If anything, the tech-house this year was during the days, where at night things picked up.

Franchi Brothers are line ball by the way.
