I've started buying some of the Hendrix, Beatles, Doors, Zeppelin reprints. Such thick wax and they sound freak'n sweet!

Birds of Fire is dope indeed. John McLaughlin was always on some next level shit.

Pretty stoked $8 and near mint condition too!

Markets and various record stores around town. Haven't bought online since Ieft Canberra.

Canberra doesn't have any places to go digging bar reefer records so online was the only option unless I was up in Syd or down in Melbs.

Online can be cheaper but shipping kills. But if you dig second hand it can work out to be cheaper. Just depends who you get it off. Some chump or some dude that makes you the chump.

Naaaiiiice ... is it Part 1 or Part 2?!

I got the CD single which has all 4 versions on it ... very nice to play all the way through and chill the fuk out.

It's nice having the single, as this is one of the tracks that doesn't come up on my 4 x 12" version of Northern Exposure

From Desyn's top ten dance music classics -

#4 Air Tattoo ‎– Synaesthesia 1992

“This record was like putting a drug into the vinyl. It’s such a huge euphoric rush that builds and builds and then climaxes. It may sound a little dated now, but at the time it was unique and didn’t sound much else like the rest of the more progressive house. The squelchy synth was very standout for the time and evolved and warped itself over the course of the record.

It captured everything I loved about the music back then. It was forward-thinking and euphoric, but house-led. I lost my copy around 1995, and spent the next two years looking for it every day in second-hand record shops. One Sunday I found it in a London record store basement amongst 100,000 other records and it was one of the happiest days of my life. A huge track, and one you won’t find on any DJ mix comps. A real secret weapon for the DJs that had it.

I guess that's a feeling one can only experience through vinyl. Unlike being able to search in google for an mp3 and have in seconds

Quote:

I don't go to be in the VIP area.. I don't need big breaks, a big song with a buildup and lights and smoke.. all you need is a kickdrum and a good bassline. You don't need any of that other shit. Na, I'm not going for none of those reasons.. I'm just going for the music.
