Not really, as long as the brightness is low it's not too bad. Took a while to get the settings right. It's good for games to be honest but everyday use it's pretty overkill. Mainly because there's no more desk space than a standard 22" monitor.

The max resolution is 1920x1080p. That's a pretty much a standard resolution now.

Yeah, you can get higher on computer displays, but not on TVs.

If this TV had pixels the size of a hi def 22", my god. Best thing ever. Unfortunately it's very limited, even @ full HD.

You can but the one above 1920x1200 is such a GPU hog even these days. Stunning graphics on 2560x1600 though :o

Indeed, some of the apple cinema displays go up to 2560x1600. I don't know of any others that do, if anyone finds one let me know!!!

Hmmmm.
Having difficulties trying to locate a model as an example, but something makes me think that there are 26"-28" monitors with a resolution of 2560x1600 (at 60Hz+, no less).

Similar to 1920x1080 on a 40" versus a 46" screen, the higher pixel density can result in far sharper images in a not-too-much smaller window, without inducing eye strain.

Helps that you don't have to crane or swivel your neck about.

Also, if you can score a monitor with (mini-)DisplayPort, you'll be laughing. Just try to avoid TN panels: tend to have banding.

HP, Dell and Samsung all make quality monitors.

isn't a mini display port a mac thing?

DVI-D is the only cable that can support the higher resolutions...right?

edit: just found the dell 3008wfp monitor can go up to 2560x1600. it's a 30". Pitty it's $1700.

Yeah what jabbajaws said, this ones actually the Ikea Dioder, comes in 4 little strips that size and plenty of cable, so I've got 3 wired to my desk out of the picture and one wired up there.

Yeah I would've prefered an Evo but I couldn't pass up the deal on the Nuo5 ($600), still considering the full midi support though...

They are still decks and yes they work, and hell yeh im proud of my gear and I love it.

In that being said they are just decks and speakers on an ikea bookcase.

Not like some of the "special" ones i saw back in the 50's (page).

Really unique!

Haha. You can blame my Mrs for that. Since my decks are in the living room she puts her crap all through the bookshelf :p
I wanna buy some of the boxes to fit in there, but they're exxy for what they are.

^Yeah, having been at Ikea (to buy expedit units) last week, I was amazed at the price that they sell those boxes for. Also the price of the castors. Maybe they are decent wheels, but I couldn't be sure and buying them was going to bring up the cost of my whole thing about $200.

I'd love some stands also. Jaycar has a set for $110 but I'm not sure if they'll support the weight of my monitors too well. I'm afraid they'll go tumbling with the slightest gust of wind.

edit: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...T&SUBCATID=510

They look a little too small for B2031A's now that I think about it...

These might do the trick
