I REALLY want to get one. I dont own a laptop, nor have i ever used ableton/traktor or controllers, but they really grab my attention from being an oldschool arcade gamer.

i think at best you may get a glitch mob album on vinyl but all the killer shit coming out from daly city records, simplify, hopskotch etc are just about 100% digital (bar the very very occasional special release).

i guess there is so little money in vinyl these days that unless you have a artist you know will sell then its not worth the risk, which is pretty sad imo as i miss wasting half my paycheck on a 20kg bag of wax

Hey,

I am thinking of getting IKEA Expedit bookshelf lying horizontal. It fits 2 turnys & a cdj.

This leaves no room for my 7" monitors.

Any suggestions?

Appreciate it.

Yeah they do but its not really a practical option.

You recommend those monitor stands? They will be sitting on carpet

Or you can get one of those large expedit bookshelves and one small one and put them together to make one longer one?

I was just suggesting any stands, not necessarily those ones.

I've got like a dozen of the single ones, I posted a pic of some of them in this thread ages ago but I got no idea how far back..
I really dig em, you can fit a shelf above your records in each one too, super handy storage space..and you can put wheels on em
They weren't super cheap from memory but I really like em

These Lack shelves are pretty good, they say they take 15kg weight. I felt a bit worried about that tho so i use two one for each.

they are a bit above head height when standing tho.

^ THIS.

Always thought it would just be too expensive to jump into something I hadn't tried and I really wanted to start on vinyl.

Now I finally got two 1200's, don't own a mixer yet due to unforeseen expenses popping up straight after I bought the damn things but have had a lend of a mates one, and yeah turns out I was right... it is an expensive hobby!

Nice setup though, very sweet.

Where are your speakers though?

How old are they? Could still be under warranty!
Failing that, get into contact with whoever sold them to you - most stockists will be in contact with a verified service center.

Id still ring up whoever you purchased them from. Im sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction.

Why not? Sometimes you don't want to use vinyl, but timecoded CDs instead. Or I don't know, have the option of playing CDs as well?

sd88me, I'm loving the CDJ stands and desk overall, though I have a feeling it cost an arm and a leg.

Why not?
I have cdj2000s and run traktor via HID from the CDJs when i feel like using Traktor and play CDs when that's my mood of choice
Also, when mates are playing, no one wants to rip there cds just to drop a few tracks

It's like saying why have TT's and CDJs?

cos one is an analogue source and one is a digital source. having traktor and cdjs is just two digital sources with different control surfaces that do the same thing. meh i just don't see the point

In my case, it should be called "Post Pics of your Serato Setup".

I would love to play on Traktor Scratch but theres no point buying another DVS system when I have Serato onboard the TTM.

I also have an external box (SL1), i got it 2nd hand for $very $cheap.

Not in pic: S4.
