I'd buy that.

How thorough is the selection of foods that it has nutritional figures for? I'm using calorieking.com.au at the moment, it's great for the number of foods listed but the general website design is pretty shithouse, plus it doesn't have a mobile version. (brising the full site on your phone sucks)

Kingston biscuits. So many of them.

When I was pregnant I once Googled "can't stop eating lamingtons pregnant" & "too much sugar damage baby"

I got fat eating junk food, drinking loads of piss and not exercising. When I fix the alcohol and junk food bits my diet is pretty near maintenance straight away without me having to really modify it. I've restricted it a fair bit further right now though to try to lose some weight.

When I spent a few months travelling round Australia I dropped about 5kg just through more incidental exercise + less booze and junk food.

Just diced up a little bit of green and red capsicum, lightly fried it in a little olive oil then tossed a scrambled egg over the top. Mixed it all up, added a little ricotta cheese towards the end. Served together with a nice green tea.

Simple, quick, nutritious lunch

Does anyone else cop shit from their co-workers about what they eat? It seems to be a ritual here, i pull out my chicken and steamed vege's for lunch and everyone feels the need to comment, doesnt bother me at all but it just feels a little bizarre, i dont comment at all on their shit filled lunches.

wow, pretty decent transformation

I often have to go to kids' bday parties on a Saturday, a couple of hours after my long run, when I'm starving.

I eat so much crap & cop so many 'looks' & the occasional "oh, you're lucky you can eat this sort of stuff & stay slim". I'm always scared to go to the toilet in case anyone thinks I'm having a vom

*edit - apparently eating a few boiled eggs at your desk is 'strange'.

I'm kind of lucky with the eating at work, everyone is used to my eating habits. Plus, I have a co-worker who eats super healthy and has 4 meals a day at work so i just eat when she eats.

Totally agree, eating rocks, that's why I'm not following the paleo thing to a ‘t’ - I allow small amounts of rice here and there. Thing is I was never a huge bread eater anyway, so it hasn't been a major shift in diet. The cutting out of processed foods is awesome, and of course I could never give up cheese so I'm still smashing that.

I do a similar marinade to Mickstah's that's a vietnamese variant with lemongrass and sesame oil added.

Re paleo, I reckon full paleo is a bit of a crock of shit- humans have always evolved and added new things to our diets, there's no reason that we should stop doing that now. However I think as a general principle it's good, a few thousand years isn't much in evolutionary terns so we shouldn't deviate our diet too dramatically from what earlier humans might have eaten. But adding some grains and other new things in there isn't going to kill us and might even be beneficial. And anyway bread is awesome.

Vietnamese style sounds good, I'll have to give that a crack next time I make a batch!
Full paleo goes way over the top IMO, but there are some awesome points to take away from it as well. Anything that gives me an excuse to eat more meat is okay in my books.

The only thing with eating too much meat is bowel cancer, so you can't go overboard. It always comes back to a healthy balance of food. That's why I (and I think most others here) don't like the extreme diets permanently. They are good at specific times to achieve a certain goal but I would never class them as proper lifestyles.

Also, I'm not sure if strict Paleo eaters have visited a Euro cake shop at all, it's a travesty to not eat some of the sweets in there occasionally!
Melbourne peeps, there's a really nice one in St Kilda I think, close to that bar that's like a garden or something.

Well there's a heavy focus on fruit and vegetables as well. They taste amazing once you cut out sugar completely from your life, it's pretty awesome.

Of course balance is important, we're still doing meat-free Monday as well jusst to change things up.

So true, balance is everything I reckon. There's really fuck all that's completely worthless, sugar is awesome if you strictly keep it to the occasional sweet and desert. It's just not a food you should be eating habitually at all.

Semantics dude, I'm pretty sure Mickstah meant cutting out refined sugars. Thats why the fruit tasted awesome, cause you get a heightened appreciation for the fructose in it. Anyway nothing wrong with eating fruit, as long as you're correctly accounting for the calories contained in it.

It would be basically impossible to cut out sugar completely from your diet.

Nah I get what he means, in terms of additives. I stopped adding sugar to my coffee last year and to anything else, and I virtually stopped adding salt too. The flavour of fruit and vegetables in particular now is incredible. It really does make a difference.

1 tin kippers, 2 eggs, 1 slice toast
2 WPC shakes with milk & yoghurt, one with psyllium
175g of eddie chicken with some rocket leaves
1 short black
1 McDonalds chicken scorcher cause I was too lazy to fix something proper for dinner and it was late

Total estimated intake 1790 cal with only 104g of carbs, which considering that I went for a 40 min run tonight is probably about 1200-1300cal below maintenance. I'm gonna be completely fucked if I try lifting tomorrow, I suspect.
