FEATURE BLARTIST: FAR TOO LOUD

Far Too Loud, a.k.a. Oli Cash, has gained a significant reputation in dance music for quality, dancefloor-destroying production. Originally rooted in breakbeat, the FTL sound was quickly recognized as being something different through the influence of other styles of dance music. Over the past four years the sound has developed and diversified but maintained the mix of hard-hitting beats, dirty basslines, detailed production and twisted sound design that has set FTL apart from the rest. This is evident from the full-on tech-breaks monster “Get High”, which was awarded Best Single at Breakspoll 2007, to the electro mix of Lily Allen’s “Not Fair”, which was liked so much that it became part of Lily’s live show and another remix was subsequently commissioned.

Signed to the burgeoning Funkatech records, Far Too Loud has released a string of singles and remixes that have found their way into the record bags of numerous top DJs, playlists of top radio stations and tune-of-the-month slots in major dance music publications. These include two three-part E.P. series, “Louder Than Life” and “Music For Machines”, and the huge-selling tracks “Play It Loud” and “You Know The Sound”, which both received “Best Track” nominations in the Beatport Music Awards.

Far Too Loud will be performing on the Barcadi Electro & Breakbeat Stage at Blah Blah Blah 2010 @ Riverlife, along with the Digitalism, the Freestylers, Soul of Man, Rico Tubbs, Atomic Hooligan and more!

Can anyone tell me what the sound levels were like last year?? After the disappointment of a barely audible caspa @ stereo, I'm really hoping for decent volume.

Getting very keen for this, looking forward to getting my Beardyman on, I have a soft spot for Digitalism also. Plus there are plenty of breaks to go round so pretty excited about that to. And a bunch of locals tearing it up won't do much harm either.

PS Still have some industry tix if anyone is keen

FEATURE BLARTIST: HORRORSHOW

Horrorshow are two 22 year olds from inner west Sydney: Adit produces the music - Solo handles the vocals. Attending Fort Street High School, whose musical output includes Josh Pyke, Unkle Ho (The Herd) and Joelistics (TZU) among others, both Solo and Adit were heavily involved in bands, ranging from jazz through to rock. Along with fellow school mates and current peers Spit Syndicate, they embraced hip hop as the genre made big strides in Australia around 2000.

In 2007 and at 19 years of age, Horrorshow started recording material more purposefully – resulting in a collection of songs titled The Grey Space. It was not until 2008 that these caught the ear of Elefant Traks on the strength of a growing buzz and strong recommendations – subsequently Elefant Traks released The Grey Space in August 2008.

This release brought on a hurried demand for Horrorshow, supporting The Herd across the eastern states and then Hermitude on a national tour. In between were a sold-out launch party (Annandale Hotel), support slots with Blackalicious as well as a spots on Sydney’s soldout Big Day Out, Groovin The Moo, Muph & Plutonic’s Don’t Worry About Nothin Tour.

Horrorshow have officially solidified their position in the ‘bands to watch’ list and will release their second album, Inside Story on October 2nd, 2009. Their first single Thoughtcrime (Doin’ My Think) found it’s way on the Triple J national radio rotation – and that’s only the start of the story.

Horrorshow will be performing on the Alize Hip Hop / Live Stage at Blah Blah Blah 2010 @ Riverlife, along with the Funkoars, Koolism, BeardyMan and more!

OFFICIAL BLAH BLAH BLAFTER PARTIES

"...and the party don't stop", as we invite you to rock on to one of two (or both) of the official Blah Blah Blafter Parties at BarSoma and X&Y Bar.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The BarSoma Blafter Party will feature encore performances from the SOUL OF MAN (UK) and FREQ NASTY (UK)!

SOUL OF MAN: Founder of the most influential Breakbeat label in the world - Fingerlickin' Records - will be backing up his "History of Fingerlickin' Records Set" with a broader library..., as he performs a "History of Breaks Set"! Both are must see/hear/absorb experiences not to be missed as they will not likely EVER happen again.

FREQ NASTY: A pioneer of Glitch Hop, Breakbeat, Dubstep and everything in between, he's widely acknowledged by critics for consistently breaking boundaries with his music, and he's expected to take us on a tour of whats to come, with the promise of his own brand of beats: "Futurestep".

These two legendary pioneers of broken beat sounds are supported by residents of Breaks & Enter, Audio Abuse and Junglettes parties:
» De La Haye
» Profesa
» Arctic
» Stryder
» Katie Karma

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The X&Y Bar Blafter Party will feature encore performances from the REFLUX (FUNKOARS) (ADEL) and WILL STYLES + MC SHURESHOCK (Syd)!

REFLUX: Turntable extraordinaire and regular stunt man, Reflux, is the man behind the wheels of steel for the infamous Funkoars. Armed with world-class cuts and Hip Hop beats that blow the dress off a lady, he's an instant party ready to start ...just add people.

WILL STYLES + MC SHURESHOCK: The pair behind Sydney's much famed DubRave club night and brand new record label, Will Styles of Triple J's Radio Funktrust and the most recognised dance MC in Australia, MC Shureshock, have been rocking parties since the dawn of the modern dance era.

These three heavy weights of the Australian party scene are supported by Cutloose!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COMPLIMENTARY BUS

There will be a complimentary bus from River Terrace (at the top of the staircase near the entry/exit) to the Valley, stopping at both BarSoma and X&Y Bar. To take advantage of the bus, please ensure you exit at the entrance of the festival grounds on the South Bank end of Riverlife.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COVER CHARGE

Please retain your festival wristbands for $8 covercharge / Free before 10pm / $12 otherwise.

You may pre-purchase tickets to the Blah Blah Blafter Parties from the ADICTS Merch Stand for $8 or $12 for a ticket to both parties. With a limited capacity at both venues, we urge you to consider doing this during the day to avoid queues and disappointment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See you at the parties after the party!

what a great day! Congrats guys, yet another successful Blah Blah Blah!
I had the best time and couldn't fault it at all. Even the weather managed to behave for most of the day which was great. So many awesome people and great tunes. Have to say the highlight was Beardyman, that man was absolutely amazing!!!

The only lowlight really is the freaking hangover I have... well worth it though!!!!

def beardyman was the highlight for me, talkin shit was nice also *nods*

had a good laugh at cutloose cooking, sadly didn't try any of the risotto
but seeing people dancing up the back and wandering down the front and then burst out laughing was awesome

also seemed odd the dubstep in the techno stage but hey *shrugs*
ended up 3 hours late for work this morning huhuhu
