But if you throw Seb Fontaine, BT, Chicane and Scott Bond in an all-nighter at Shed 4 you don't need to give me 4-6 months notice. I'd be calling in the babysitters and digging out the old trainers poste haste just in case there a vibe to be recaptured one last time.

Anyways as I think we all now agree, it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Chicane... yes!! Someone get Chicane here. Never seen him live, one of the artists that got me hooked on Trance/EDM. His first 2 albums are classics, always come back on rotation for me.

Sander Van Doorn is in town QB weekend.... just doesn't have a gig yet. I guess 20k an hour scares most promoters off

If we don't hear anything in the next fortnight I'd be putting good money on that it won't be happening as there simply won't be enough time to do proper promo.

He used to produce and play such good music, and now I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. 20k an hour, what a fucking joke.

Maybe Future couldn't secure enough big name artists for the weekend to go ahead with it? Plus on top of other big events penned for that weekend (i.e Dash and the techno names that are down) they are going to move it somewhere else in the year. I would've imagined an announcement a week or two after Future Music Festival, so if we don't hear anything very soon it's looking unlikely (for June at least).

Won't be surprised if they announce something for late September/early October aka around the time of the year that Godskitchen used to be on.

Yeah I think Parklife was always the week before Godskitchen from memory.

Maybe no Parklife this year and a massive 20th anniversary extravaganza instead?

Could this be Armin? Not sure if I'd rather him at this or an Armin Only later in year. I'm guessing though now that the mouse is out of the bag, there will probably be an announcement soon.

What are we hoping for as far as the start and end times are? Day time? Night time?
I really thing the vibe at gods kitchen and winter sound system was way more fun than day events, but maybe thats just me.

No it's not just you, night gigs are almost always better. Gods 08, that now was pretty special.

lets put a list together of what we want:

- godskitchen arena
- some kind of artists own arena like digweed or pete tong or similar

Most likely around September/October if it's meant to be instead of Parklife this year.

This definitely has to be at night and make use of arena's. Hisense and Rod Laver.

If he were to be popping down, it probably wouldn't be for this. First Armin Only event happens in November, Ibiza season probably means he's all sorted for dates until about October.

Yeah I know Armin looks unlikey, I'm just trying to remain hopefull! If Armin Only aren't commencing until November then I'm doubting we will get him this year. Unless he does the NYE thing again or will add some other dates in that aren't Armin Only.

It would be good to have some names we havn't seen for a while. I want to see Solarstone somewhere soon... every release of his is superb. Think he'd be great for this.

Solarstone, Mark Sherry, Eco, Matt Davey, Activa. Give any combination of those names 2 hours + each and I'll be a very happy man.

And a 16 hour party, 3 hours of Nick, 4 from Howells and Diggers, 5 from Hernan
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

On the idea of an artists own arena I'd only like it if they had flux pavilion run a bass heavy stage, and called it the flux pavilion pavilion.

Would you guys like to see a mix of new acts and the DJs that have been coming out for the last 20 years? Or do you reckon it would only be the classics?

Yep, a main room with armin/tiesto/whoever else the kids are listening to today - and a room with if not old skool acts then at least an old skool vibe.

Matt Radovich kicks it off. Then a live act (Orbital or Hybrid perhaps) followed by Seb Fontaine/Dave Seaman/Scott
Bond and Quinny or Jeff Tyler to close. All over the place musically but gees it'd be fun.

(I'll happily substitute in any of the old Platipus DJs if any are still going around).

In my opinion this event will be catered to the mainstream, considering who Future Entertainment generally brings out. However fingers crossed that my hunch is wrong and they bring out big names in techno.

i think being their celebration of 20 years i can definitely see them giving us what we want, maybe not all of what we want but some of. its a celebration of the past 20 years, not the next 20.

i'd be content with a shitty mainstage with shitty commercial acts, as long as there are other stages like a bedrock or renaissance or a gods etc etc.

the trance arnea will be playing 8 hrs of pop music so I hope there will be some other great acts coming out for this.i have totally given up on future to throw decent trance events.

i am so surpised everyone wants a gods arena back - the last godskitchen was f*cking awful! Absolutely no atmosphere or energy and the music was dreadful all night. Richard Durand trainwrecked every mix and looked drunk as a skunk. Until John Askew came in and saved the day - but by then there wasn't much left.

I don't know what you're talking about, the side room at the last gods was great, old school tracks pumping, decent crowd & binary finary did a wicked set, ok maybe have a point about the main room was lacking the goods.
Always hated that place it was held for one reason, no drinks after 3, are you serious? I was hoping that it was going to be back the following year but in a smaller venue, could have worked wonders for the vibe.

godskitchen wasnt the best at the end only cuz it was a stand alone event. run it as a side stage and it will be all kinds of win.

If you look at the decade of dance DVD released by Future Entertainment.

That DVD setlist is so awesome.

No Armin this year please, just bring something awesome.

I see Digweed is announced for the June Long Weekend - does that confirm no 20th bday celebrations?

Read up the page a bit. It's happening but not on Queen's Birthday weekend. No Parklife this year and instead Future will be putting on this.

BT comes on and plays movement in still life back to front 4 times over. then sasha comes on and plays airdrawndagger multiple times over. ill have a wank on the D-Floor and everyone except the person standing in front of me, goes home happy.

Well obviously they've chosen this over Parklife. There are only so many nationwide big events like this the company can run in a year. Ditching a festival doesn't necessarily mean that the attendances were bad. Look at Creamfields, that festival was slowly growing every year and then after a big one in 2012 it disappeared. It all comes down to whether they can pull enough artists and make enough of a profit to make it worthwhile at the time. Maybe there will be a Parklife stage at this event? :p
