So anyone else completely amped for this Saturday!? Have to admit the 1am finish is a bit of a downer but a 3hr set from the great man will be so good. Also noticed an afterparty has been announced for Palace theatre, any idea on who might be playing?

Going off his recent chicago EDC set cannot wait for..

As the Rush Comes (4am remix)
Man on the Run
Apollo Road
their new one, Steal You Away
and a shameless sing along to Better Off Alone

Plus whatever other dashups are thrown in on the night..bring on the long weekend!!

I've always preferred colon cologne myself, much more bottom end in their sets

Yeah I'm really looking forward to it. There are heaps of tunes I'm looking forward too especially newer ones from the past year that I havn't heard live like The Funeral feat band of horses, and the new one with Popov Steal You Away. I've never been to this venue before... I hope it's good and hope that there is still space even though it sold out weeks ago.

Not really, the only one of those songs that I've heard in a set since Dash at Stereo was Apollo Road in Estiva's set at Enhanced.

It was pretty sweet when Armin played it at QBH in 2004.

it will be a cheesy sing along for the #trancefamily who think they are now not afraid of a whopping 138bpm.

i can't believe how much people are paying for last minute tickets to this

Venue is pretty much as it sounds, just a big shed. Really similar to where stereo had the trance stage two years ago, fairly big but pretty narrow.

I remember being kind of keen to go to this, a big trance party in a warehouse sounded kind of cool and it's been ages since I've been to anything trancy. Then I realised what gigs were on the day after and then heard about the 1am finish.

puretrance89, just checked prices online, holy fucking shit.

From gumtree "3x Dash Berlin hard copy tickets for sale. Melbourne
$750.00"

I assume the trance gig will progress from something like some form of house to full on trance, then those who want to continue the progression will go to Wildstylez. So, where is the 200+bpm gabba after party?

Good for you and your superior taste in music... those of us going to this event know what to expect and are looking forward to it

Also just because people are attempting to sell them for that price doesn't mean that they will. We saw the same thing with Stereosonic people trying to make a heap of money out of a sold out gig, and then suddenly a day or two before the event the ticket prices all dropped.

yeah got zero time for him these days. sold out ages ago. when you need to rely on your big hits from 2-3 years ago you know you're going nowhere.

What do you mean? Dash Berlin have only been formed/releasing music since 2007 so of course most of it is more recent (mostly releasing stuff from 2009 onwards)

all the hits from 2 years ago, he still plays. if he didn't, the crowd would hate it. I guarantee you people will be wanting to hear man on the run, disarm yourself, waiting etc etc in another 2 years. he needs to play some different songs otherwise sets are becoming stale very quickly.

Obviously you didn't see his set at Stereosonic which I was disappointed with because he didn't play a lot of his newer stuff...

When has any trance DJ not relied on rinsing the fuck out of dated tracks?!?

It's hardly a forward thinking genre...and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, some people go out to be challenged, to head new music, some go out just for some fun and want to hear tracks they know...least it's EDM in some form, rather than Top 40 shit...
Pete Gordon - Deep and Low

Slower tempo but still with balls, deephouse, slow-mo, futurehouse, nudeep, indie, nudisco, hints of progressive, whatever the fuck you want to call it, just good shit! Get on it

AMEN! and full on psy

but thats one of the reasons i gave up going to trance events like dash berlin, everything is just so stale at them. you hear the same tracks over and over until you can't take it anymore.

i must have heard waiting played live about 15 times before

My question – a 3 hour set, will there be a track that:
1. Doesn’t have vocals?
2. Goes for more than the Narre Warren / St Albans attention span of 3.5 minutes?

I’ll be honest – I’m going and I’m looking forward to it. Whoever said it earlier was right, DB is basically playing pop music for the masses these days – but that doesn’t mean it wont be fun.

We’re going along and we’ll sing when we are supposed to and put our hands in the air when we’re supposed and we’ll have a good time doing it.

At 1am I’ll go home and freshen up for a serious session of chin stroking at Jeff Mills on Sunday night.

On Monday I’ll sit down and assess which was better.

Yup the chin stroking douche bags can stay at home, just because jeff mills doesn’t mean you cant have fun

Edit: I do agree with the repetitiveness of the trance family, saat in the trance tent all day at ultra this year saw back to back W&W, cosmic gate, ATB, Dash, Shultz A&B, Armin, Ferry and PVD and tunes like Dfat concrete angel etc heard in almost every set

Doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it

Don't think there will be too many people going to DB and Mills. Does not compute how you can have such refined yet such trashy taste in music all at once.

Yeah I wear a suit and tie to work and like to play with power tools on weekends too.

Dash will be light and cheesy fun, Mills will be intense and dark and fun. I really am intrigued as to what I'll think Monday.

What will blow my mind is if DB plays The Bells.

On the other side, if Mills plays Waiting, I'm walking out.

Haters be gone, it was a good night. Sure it had everything that you expected but a few surprises too. My highlights were most of the classics that he dropped like Airwave, Off the world, Take me away, Sandstorm, Exploration of Space... went pretty crazy during all of those. Glad that he played The Funeral as well and Steal You Away. Only got a bit bored at about the 2 hour mark for about 30 mins but then he got back and smashed the end. Man on the run went insane.

The venue though wasnt the best. Too long and narrow. Good sound up the front but not at the back.
