the 3rd Shpongle album is finished
yes thats right... and no i'm not kidding!
I recently spoke with Raja Ram who was very pleased to tell me that he and Simon Posford have now finished the creative process and that the music has been handed over to twisted, for mixing and mastering. Raja anticipates its release in febuary of next year, and this is echoed on the twisted website, with details of this album and its release date finally listed. www.twisted.co.uk The 3rd installment from Shpongle is titled 'Nothing Lasts' and has 7 new tracks (plus one previously released) it starts with Beija Flor the single released earlier this year, and ends with the title track... 'Nothing Lasts' a lot of us have been waiting for this release for quite some time so this is very exciting news, even though it has not been released yet it really is getting closer to our ears... Raja was also very excited about coming to play for the first time ever here in australia, this november when he comes out for earthcore here's just some of what he had to say... 'Simon and I, we'd like very much to preview our album... we have got the finished album, and would be delighted to do that...' 'tell people, we're bringing the music' 'i'm bringing the latest of everything' 'send love to all our fans and listeners, and supporters, and say I'm running towards you with the new music, and i cant wait... and i'll see you on stage!' its fairly safe to say that if you are heading to earthcore in a little under a month, you will be amongst the lucky ones who get to hear some of the new album before it gets released... cant wait!! bring it on... yay! Yay!! YAY!!!

reallllly looking forward to the "3rd" Shpongle album (that is, if you don't count the 'Remixes' the album !).
i hope that i don't get too critical, since there's 2 brilliant albums to compare it with. but, Beija Flor is a nice single, and if that's a sign of things to come...then i say Earthcore will definitely be a real hotbed for new material this summer - with new Shpongle, Hallucinogen, GMS music. so, bring on Earthcore, Summerdreaming, Shpongle album (and also the 3rd Shulman album too... )!

If you'd read the sentence underneath you might have realised I was being sarcastic. And also, his name isn't Simon Shpongle, it's Simon Posford... and I wouldn't really call the music he plays goa... hehehe, we need a :sarcasm: smiley or something |

Can't wait for this, Posford's morning set was utterly magic (again), I couldn't get the grin off-a my face.
![]() He opened his Hallucinogen set with f*cking 'Speak To Me' as well (Pink Floyd that is)... f*cking mad-khunt, I could-a kissed 'im! ![]()

from the start, with Prometheus and then as Hallucinogen through to this solo DJ set in the morning.....the music was as just pure genius. such intricately woven layers, with glorious melodies (which are just amazing)..... that guy is just so, so good. can't wait for the 3rd Shpongle album (whose tracks were played at Earthcore Carnival). ![]() |

Apparently the third album is going to be a double album with 20 tracks..
Authors of the website are claiming that it came from Simon himself.. cross fingers it's true.. http://www.shpongle.com/hallucinogen/info.htm |

the twisted web site now lists the same info... still doesnt mention bejia flor... ?
and in the mean time unusual suspects 2 is being released on 26 january, new younger brother and 2 new hallucinogen collaborations. so it looks like the new album may well be the rumored double cd... and that will make it worth the wait! 20 new tracks?! i can be patient... ![]()

that's right, jimbu...
looks like it's about 4 weeks away from release. waiting to put an order in... FROM: http://www.chillout.co.yu/for_um/viewtopic.php?t=11173 Here's what Simon Holtom from Twisted says: Quote: all the tracks are now quite short, but in total it's around 70 mins of music. beja flor is still there but as 3 id's instead of just the one. each part has a new name. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: realistically march, towards the end. we are just waiting on artwork now. we are going to make the cd available on the twisted site 2-3 weeks before anywhere else. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: it is impossible to describe in a few sentences but for sure there are elements of the first album and elements of the second like the latino, vocals, guitars etc and many, new ideas as well. my personal opinion is that if i could only take one shpongle album onto a desert island it would have to be this one, it is truly stunning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

don't want to seem 'over-excited', but i hope it'll bring about a magic that the other 2 Shpongle albums had.
then again, sampled quite a few Shpongle tunes at Earthcore, when Simon P. played a Shpongilized set for 1 hour....the last set for the festival. aaaaahhhhhh......

the earthcore set went for much longer than 1 hour... more like 2 and a half... at one point Simon was like 'how much longer?' and someone just calls out 'another half an hour...' that was around the time he was supposed to stop playing... funny how no one wanted him to stop... and we definately heard at least 3 new full length tracks during that set... cant wait for the rest
great to hear simon holton sayin that march is still lookin good bring it on...

it wasn't 2 hours, but at least 1h 20mins. (also saw him mouth "how much longer?") it was such a fitting end to Earthcore. the richness of Shpongle coupled with Simon's wizardry (earlier in the 'Carnival' as well),....i can still cast my mind back. had me smiling for weeks, and even now sometimes.

Shpongle's 3rd Album Delayed
with the Shpongle album imminent,
everywhere i look, i think i am having Shponglized delusions.....:tripping: ....like looking at photos of a 'Snow & Ice Festival' in Russia. besides, the 3rd Shpongle album - Shpongle - Nothing Lasts [TWSCD28] - has been delayed (as it was due later this month) here are the official posts at DuskDigital (Mark Neal's creative outlet; he who has designed plenty of covers...) >> ------------------------------------------------------- Posted: Tue Feb 01, 2005 1:24 pm Subject: Shpongle Delay Sadly folks, the Shongle 3 release will be delayed. We set Calx some 3D work to do on it and he has blown the deadlines to shreds. Simon P goes to South America for a month thursday, and that will slow the process down also. Lets hope there's good internet connections along Simons tour route. At least another few weeks i'd say b4 the packaging could go to production. ------------------------------------------------------ Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2005 12:09 pm Subject: Development continues... Still in development. Starting to take form and looking good. A way to go yet, Simon still in S.America til the beginning of March. Occasionally gets online to feedback. We're getting there.

That's great. I heard the album was finished and now its confirmed. Stoked. Shpongle influence so many top artists and broaden everyones musical horizons. It'd be sweet if they did come to Brissie - but i guess with current legislation, there aint many incentives apart from adoring crowds.

Shpongle 3 is beautiful.
Shpongle 3 - (Nothing Lasts....)
is brilliant. ![]() definitely worth buying....and owning. dripping and layered with so much emotion. Simon Posford is such a genius producer, as Shpongle (with Raja Ram) or Hallucinogen.

Spiro,
what does this mean - 'will ship by 6/07/2005' ? (from psytrax.com): " SHPONGLE – NOTHING LASTS…BUT NOTHING IS LOST advance order your album on CD now !!!!!! Price: $20.00 CD will ship by 6/07/2005 " and " SHPONGLE - ARE YOU SHPONGLED? simply sublime Price: $22.50 will ship by 6/10/2005 " are the dates in US format, ie. Month/Date/Year ? if it is, then i would like to put an order for: 2 x Shpongle albums 2 x Hallucinogen album and a couple of others too. just curious about those dates.

Arrggghhhh!!!! It's awesome, it's awesome, it's awesome. I have the CD (express from Juno) and the LP is on the way from Twisted.
It's quite something, I can't stop listening to it. The best so far I'm thinking. ![]()
