I'll post a clip of the track I thinking of, and if it's not the right one, it'd be great to get it ID'ed anyway.

I hate the dentist.

Just had one molar and one wisdom yanked out, mouth stretched apart, cyst on the jawbone scraped out, all numb from one temple down to the shoulder, though starting to fade now into a throbbing ache...

And then, while walking through the city centre straight afterwards, some random goth glares at me and snaps, "Smile! It doesn't hurt, you know?!!".

But I digress...

Think it was dutch hardcore - not too heavy

Hi mate,

Maybe no beer claim just yet, here's a link to a sample of the track I'm guessing you're referring to.

http://files.filefront.com/ID___Cont.../fileinfo.html

Could you please confirm if that's the one?

If anyone can ID it, there might now be two 6 packs of beer for you in it.

Cheers everyone.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!

Thats deffo the one - the mix they used to play here in Brissie was harder than that but that is deffo the choon.

But now you answer my question with another riddle - you are much like the cancer man off x-files, never really giving the true answer.

Gawd now this is gonna eat me up all weekend FFS.

But thanks for the sample - a small piece of the puzzle.

Cool!

A great track, the breakdown in the middle's really nice too. Should have posted that.

Would like to hear the harder version you speak of... don't think I know of any other mix.

You know, when I read "Control of the mind", I instantly thought it was Overlords - Wow Mr Yogi!, but because it was referred to as hardcore, I decided to dismiss it.

One of my favourite of the lesser-known anthems, it even has a massive Justin Robertson mix. I first heard Jason Midro end a set with it in 1994 or 95.

I managed to track down a copy on CD single last year, absolutely love it

Nice one.

Hey, when did that version (with those vocals) come out? I hadn't heard it until just recently.

The version that got big rotation in Sydney circa 1993 didn't have the diva vocals across the top. Just the "strange, it would begin, and then it went on and on???" sample bit.

Track off Paul Holden's Cheeky Chunes tape. Track after '7 Days' by Dyewitness. Very floaty and trancey, has vocals whispered saying "Relax, Happiness Awaits"

Anyone know it?

Can't recall off hand...

...but if you have this tape, you MUST (please) dub it, digitise it, mp3 it, and host it!

My first "commercial" mix tape bought from under that glass counter in Flipside, Central Station Records, Oxford St, back in 1993, which then saw several years of subsequent thrashing.

Thanking you in adavance if you could.

I can't remember anything about this track apart from the sample, which is of Sherilynn Fenn playing Audrey in Twin Peaks (Season 2,
Episode 1 - between 12 and 14 minutes from the start of the episode) and she says "Go away..... I'm shy"

The track was definitely released prior to mid-1995, and going by the show that it was played on (Beat In The Street / Tranzmission
with Kate Bathgate on 3RRR - I forget when the name changed, if it was before or after this) I would say it would have to have been
pretty new, as they always played the most cutting edge stuff - I'm guessing it would have been released in 1994 at the earliest.

This sample is all I have to go by. Hopefully someone will recognise it and know the track. It'll end a 10+ year search and will make my life complete!

Either message me here or email me on djneo@networkacid.com

And here is a link to the sample, taken from the actual Twin Peaks episode: SAMPLE

EDIT: Un-stickied as I figure it will get a fair bit of use anyway and wont be too hard to find.

FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO FUCKING HAPPY.

Mad proprs to my homegirl Liv who actually discovered the track title and artist. It is DROME - SHY which is someone I've never ever heard of before or since. I'm yet to buy the tune, it's only available second hand on CD. Will report back as to the goodness/crapness of the tune

HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Both versions (cheesy vocal and the high rotation Sydney) appear here - http://www.discogs.com/release/122120 released not long after the original.

Another track I'd love to get my hands on...
It's a German hard techno track, from about 93-94
a really slammming track has a hard male vocal saying "metal not organic matter" , "use your wheels" or something like that.
The other sample that comes to mind, "his number, six hundred and sixty-six"

It may have been on Suck Me Plasma or Influid 0r Adam & Eve....

any takers?

Heist, Could the line be "The Baseball Furys dropped the ball"? I am sure I have heard that sampled in a track on one of the DJ Mix tapes somewhere. It was originally a line from the movie the Warriors.

Don't know the name of the track though I am sorry. There is a track by Frankie Bones - Called Baseball Fury http://www.discogs.com/release/37772 Could that be it?

Track ID: From a 1992 Carl Cox set. Its got nearly the same piano from Midas - Groove Control (released in 1994). I've included both in the sample for comparison (Midas one is the second in the sample obviously).

Interesting. Comparing the two, the first snippet is almost like a 45 rpm record of the second snippet, just playing at 33 1/3. No idea on an ID though.

Here's one that's bugged me for eons ...

It samples MD-Emm's Hip House track 'Get Hip To This'
the line sampled was 'acid, the crazy drug that makes you trip'

A link to the MD-Emm track: http://www.vinylsearcher.com/mediapl...x?catno=HAM141

Around 1992/3 - same era as Dangerous Zone's Get Naughty and Matto Grosso's Jungle when acapellas were the rage. Likely Italian (or Dutch). I particularly remember Jumping Jack playing at a Sydney Chaos party (the one that was cancelled but then happened again the week after).

That's about as specific as I can get... it's not Digital Boy's 1,2,3 Acid.

B Master J 'Get Hip to This' on Italian Style 1992.

Female vocal "Mu-mu-music makes my... mu-mu-music makes my.."

A tricky 1991 ID from a Nik Fish mix tape I just cannot find (criminal I know). The tape also had 2 For Joy's Let The Bass Kick/Anticapella etc.

http://www.tuneid.com/attachment.php...0&d=1136296114

Either Italian or English techno with big synthy stuff like DJ Professor's We Gotta Do It. It samples Kraze the Party with the 'Somebody Scream'.

Have tried the following to ill effect:
Galaxy 2 - Somebody Scream (althought it could be the b-side)
Love Revolution - The Scream (bside to Give It To Me Baby)
Prophet of Rage - Somebody Scream (doesn't sound too Caspar Pound does it!)
Antico - Freedom - same freedom sample and even a DJ Professor mix.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers

OK that one died.

How about:

http://www.tuneid.com/attachment.php...9&d=1150732823

Was huge in Sydney (at least on the radio as its all over some of my old tapes, sad aren't I)

1992.

Breakbeat with soaring vocals but pre-happy hardcore, so same era as Nino etc.

Vocals 'I wanna be your friend' and ... hey, don't make me sing it, just click on it.
