Akira & Matrix IDs
Hi guys,

I'm looking for a couple of tracks, one from an Akira mix, and one from Matrix.

I created a thread on tuneid, and have managed to find 2, but still have another 2 remaining (the 1st and 3rd clip):

http://www.tuneid.com/retro-dance-an...ve-tracks.html

The first one comes from 46 minutes into https://soundcloud.com/subzero1972/dj-akira-sydney-1994

The third one comes from 1 hour 3 minutes into https://soundcloud.com/sydney-rave-a...s-gone-by-live

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy,

I think the second track you listed here (the 3rd track on tuneID) is "Open Up To Love" by "Sway".

Hey Andy,

By chance are you a member of:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/sydneyravehistory/
(Closed group to lock out the spammers, let me know if you aren't approved within a day).

Matrix is a regular contributor and has spent numerous hours uploading mixtapes to a dedicated Soundcloud account.

He could also ID the track(s) you're after.

Hi Spectrum,

I'm one of those unusual few who are not on Facebook. I've listened to loads of mixes on SoundCloud in the Sydney Rave Archive group, and from members such as Eden, Shade, Subzero, etc. It's an awesome resource!

The only track I have left to ID is one from Akira, at 46 mins into https://soundcloud.com/subzero1972/dj-akira-sydney-1994

Do you know who might know this one?

Thanks

Andy

1) This track has females singing "Elevation", "Higher" and "Dizzy"

2) This track has a male singing "So good, it's so good" and a female singing "You make me feel so good"

Cheers,
Matthew

I am still trying to ID the second track above, it was on a mixtape from 1992. It was mixed in from Run To You by Rage and mixed out to It's My Life by Dr Alban. I have a little bit more info about it below, hopefully someone can help me out.

The female sample can be heard in the track "U Make Me Feel So Good" by "Spiral Tube".
The male sample can be heard in the track "So Good" by "Mad Ragga Jon" (although it is a female voice) and in the track "Your Body So Good" by "Minds Over Matter".

Hi Matthew,

Could it be one of the mixes of Drum Club - U Make Me Feel So Good.

http://www.discogs.com/Drum-Club-The...elease/2354794

It was released in 1992, although I'm not sure it's the one you're after.

Hi Matthew,

The prog-want one is: Hyena - Starlight (Energy Club Mix)

I'm still looking for that Ken Jensen one after all these years.
Here is the direct link to the clip:

http://www.tuneid.com/attachments/ol...nsen-mixup.mp3

I remember hearing a mix by Peewee in which he played a different version of it, but I much prefer this version.

Thanks,

Hi all,

I am trying to ID the following track, it is from 91/92. Any assistance would be appreciated.

http://www.tuneid.com/attachments/ol...ourself_go.mp3

The track has a female singing "Let yourself .... go"

I would describe this track as being Rave/Trance.

The track is NOT:
WESTBAM - "Let Yourself Go", or
DLM - "Let Yourself Go", or
ODYSSEY - "Let Yourself Go", or
WAY OUT WEST - "Montana (Let Yourself Go)"

Matthew

Can't believe it's been 3 years since i posted. Thanks Matt for those ID's.

Here's a new one for Paul McMahon as it sounds so Tunnel 1992 with the gat decor bassline, backspins, 'i dream' spoken vocal (it's not Messiah).
(ID'd - PKA/Phil Kelsey Mix of East 17 - Gold ffs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc3IavuAa0M

Played at the end of a DJ Lisa set by the radio DJ on New Wave FM Sydney in 1992 that popped up here:

Another DJ Lisa/Easygroove unknown that's dogged me for years which is more ragga bassline hardcore with female singing 'I know now'

Cheers

Still unknown this US/UK house with a guitar intro with the 'let the rhythm break you" samples from a Jad McAdam (rip) mixtape 'Fibro: The House Sound of Sydney" (1994). Have posted
whole tape up here again.

Ha ha hey Lamp! Thanks buddy... How's tricks?

I'm desperate to collecting any snippets of any of the old days of Angus and Edwin, if you ever hear of any Edwin recordings especially. I still can't believe they are both gone
