G'day Everyone,

There's a pretty passionate bunch of music fans here in the forums who are out and about week in, week out, keeping the clubbing scene alive with your participation and honest feedback. We'd love to get more of you having your views appearing on the front page of ITM to our wider audience, rather than restricting them to amongst yourselves.

We've been lucky to have a very passionate bunch of reviewers and photographers who have continued to make ITM Perth's best dance music resource for the past few years. We want that this to continue into the future. We're in a bit of a transitional time at the moment with some of our most prolific contributors moving on as other demands of life take hold. However this presents new opportunities for those with a passion for words or photos to sign up.

Contributing to ITM is voluntary and relies on your passion for your craft and your local scene. Your contribution is providing all important coverage for events of all size. In return we'll always try to get you entry to gigs you're covering, and most promoters in Perth recognise this value and have been generous in granting +1. Your work is literally being seen by a worldwide audience, with many Perth reviews and photos having been referenced by worldwide labels and artists in their own promo.

The wider benefits are also limitless. From a personal point of view I've enjoyed interviewing most of my favourite music artists, had articles appear in publications nationwide, and of course taking on the role of Perth Editor. Others have pursued such pursuits further and reaped the rewards.

and its always nice to have people covering your event who aren't just in it for free entry etc so if you have the passion but think you lack the know how remember that the passion is the most important bit and everything else you can learn, im kind of over going out and therefore reviewing right now but am more than happy to help if anyone needs it and im sure most other contributors feel the same way.

you only get out of your scene what you put in people so get putting in!

When writing a review for a promotion everyone wins; the scene, the contributors, the DJ's, musicians and dance music as a whole.

I think it's awesome that Inthemix provides such an opportunity for budding writers and photographers. I have learned a few things since I started writing back in 2004 and I am also considering doing photography as well (it's a bit unusul for someone with little eyesight to do that but I have snapped a few gems over the past year which I would love to have seen published.)

Its good too even if you have no career aspirations and just pursue it as like a sort of hobby which is what i do. I was pretty nervous doing my first review though, but just have a read around on the site to get some kind of idea of what yu need to cover and yeah give it a crack

I signed up to contribute months ago, but because i haven't had the dosh to go to events (even the smaller ones) I haven't been able to. I didn't realise that it was possible for us to get in cheap, or even free! If i'd known that my camera would be worn out by now from all the work it'd done! rofl.

it really depends on how hot you are tho. if you are not hot, you get in more expensive even tho u r taking photos and stuff.

I'm going to moving back to Perth early-to-mid next year, would be mad to get as involved in the scene as I am in Melbourne. Hopefully meet some new peeps too

I can write you reviews for free for dnb, but i'm not going to blow smoke up people if their gigs are shit,

I don't care about free entry or drinks or whateva, its just tiring seeing the same people hype events and nights when you know it is all BS

reviews aren't meant to blow smoke they are meant to give you a feel for the night. you should def get involved!

Is there any other way of being part of the team aside from photography work? Would love to help out anyway possible but I'm not as creatively gifted as some plus i just don't trust myself with a camera hahah
