I absolutely love Prydz's EM live at Creamfields 08.

Sasha has left me in wanting though.

Quote:

This decade hasnt been as wild, exciting or as decadent as the 90s...Instead weve seen rampant commercialism musically fed to a comfortably numb, dumbed down live-in-the-moment society...In many ways we've witnessed the fun of the 90s being replaced by the anger of this decade.

PRYDA012 due out today ( 1/10/08 ) on Beatport.
A. Evouh - AA. Wakanpi/Rakfunk

Also looking more and more likely that his latest untitled track may be titled 'Pryda - Helvettet' which in Swedish means 'The Hell', all speculation though.

Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers - Ron Hardy Said ( Eric Prydz Remix) enjoying this remix atm. Does anybody know what the male voice is saying? is it "we lost the plot"?

Beauty - I've been waiting for this to come out for a while.. remix is a massive tune, hoping we hear a bit of it over the festival season.

Lyrics for the Original and Prydz mix are taken from "The History of House Music".... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL-ROu9KD0w

"There will never be another place like that where Ron Hardy was doing what he was doing. I mean this man... it was like voodoo with dance music. If I had to think about it everyday, or I was thinking about it when I was playing records every time, I wouldn't play. I would stop. Because I would look at these people. I would look at these clubs. I would say this is bullshit. And I would just leave." - Derrick May

"The people were screaming Ron Hardy's name"

Who else is there out ther ewho's making this sort of prog tho? I know that Pryds is a one in a million but i don't think I've ever seen such invotive and successful new music not set a trend amongst the production world.

So is it just so good it's untouchable or am i just missing the immitators?

Mojo and Leger are both similar.

Mojo has probably been around longer than Pryda so I dont think you could call him an imitation.

Carramrod and Carte Blanche have already mentioned Gold Ryan, Sebastien Leger and Paolo Mojo. I would also add Henrik B to the list. Claes Rosen has some similar sounds as well however most of his tracks are slightly more mellow.

Leger's remix of Hello Piano is so ridiculously good, easily my most played tune at the moment.

Agreed about Claes Rosen, he absolutely smashes it. There's heaps of that sound on Add2Basket, Brown Eyed Boyz, Discoteca and Sick Watona, I could probably name a dozen artists but you'll find them if you search the back catalogue of those four labels.

I've been really impressed with Arno Cost this year too.

Too right! He has been on fire this year. I was shattered when his Aus tour didn't include a Melbourne show. Heard his latest tune?... Arno Cost - Darling Harbour... guess he enjoyed Sydney! He is back again in early December... missing Melbourne again!

You would have to be happy with that. It is like replacing Cam White with Shane Warne.

I didn't know that Roger Sanchez was ever playing Family in December but I know that he was meant to be playing Field Day, then got replaced with Eric Prydz.

Excellent news, though this has been common knowledge for more than a few months now, especially in light of his Global Underground themed party at F12 Terassen in July. As I've said before, Dana Bergquist's performance that night is one of the best warmup sets I've ever heard.

I have high hopes for this release.

The Michael Cassette duo are copying parts of the Prydz sound in their productions.

these guys have been producing successfully for just as long as prydz and they're sound is definitely distinctive... what I mean is they're not copying, they're just as innovative.

for the guy who wanted some prog artists (and to answer you're question there's a lot of other prog out there in that similar bright bassy style to Prydz) look into these:

Thomas Schwartz, Claes Rosen, Steve Mill, 16 bit lolitas, Chris Reece, Oliver Moldan, Tomas Emerson, Jerome Isma-Ae, Alaa, Torro Remote, Alex Kenji, Zoo Brazil, Emilio Fernandez, Add2basket, KOS, Eelke Kleijn, Tiger Stripes.

Speaking of Jim Rivers though, his remix of Milton Jackson and Sei A's Glasgow Kiss out this week on Urbantorque is absolutely spot on. Heavy rotation.

Sam from over on the SHM boards posted this quote from November 2007...

"There is a Pryda album coming. I'm sort of half finished, and it's not going to contain any old tracks that have already been released on Pryda. I have no idea when this album is going to be released but the plan is to get it on promo for Miami next year. So another 3 or 4 months from now hopefully it will be ready. I don't like working with deadlines. It's kind of... when the album is finished, it's finished, sort of thing you know. So it's going to be released on Pryda when it's finished. " - Eric

As others have said.... I'll believe it when I see it.

sweetles.

im loving Claes Rosen's tracks at the moment. definitely have that touch of Pryda too them. not as epic as his works, but very good. two thumbs for the bloke

Ron Hardy Said was great in the EM (the entire fkn EM was massive. im still loving Jamie Steven's track as well as Romboy's Sonora)

Waka/Evouh/Rakfunk, all good.. but i don't know. not in comparison to tracks like Gift, Shadows, Muranyi, Madderferrys.... fk i could go on all day Rymd, Armed, Ironman!!!????

i don't know if i want to hear Eric play only ID's or some of the older stuff. never the less, will be a moment to treasure *HOPEFULLY*.

EDIT: check out Rosen's "Tempo" on Beatport

PRYDA - BEYOND... confirmed by Sebastien Leger (Slight79) on YouTube.

More atmospheric than his other recent works, gets into it a bit more after 4 mins, not bad, need to hear a better quality version.
