How should we mount our CDJ1000's?
Hi all,

We've decided to finally retire our rackmount Denon Cd Player in favour of a set of CDJ1000's and was wondering what you guys think would be the best way to mount them in our DJ box?

I've attached a pic of the box for you to have a look at.

Would it be best to mount them both directly infront and above the mixer? Or further out to the sides above the turntables? We obiviously don't have enough room to lay them flat either next to the mixer or turntables.

What do you think? What's more functional? Aprreciate any ideas.

Cheers.

thats a really shit photo of the DJ booth.. can get better ones?

if they're over the top, then you need to look at the space at the top end of the mixer. or move the mixer out further. on the sides are always easier if you have the room (edit which you don't )

yeah, how high is the wall and how far away would you mount them?

above the mixer but not too low - i play at a joint where they are above the turntables and it sh$ts me to tears. It may reduce the front on perve factor however.....

Sorry for my photography skillz...

ok another 2 pics attached.

Well I want to obiviously take the denon out and move the TT's and mixer back towards the DJ thus creating some room at the back of the mixer for some kind of stand/bracket.

We've never had CDJ's here before hence why I thought I would ask you guys how you have seen them mounted and what tends to work better....

ontop of the mixer with a stand like foresight would be the best idea. Only problem is if you have some dj's that want to use lets say a efx-1000 then that would have to go somewhere else. Oh and make sure there is enough clearance to play with all the knobs on the mixer.

And those stands are made by a company called sefour, and are pretty expensive. It is cheaper to have a friend who is an engineer and pay him in beers. Just make sure they are realy solid because they will get knocked around a fair amount.

SirCrx and his mate are currently making and selling CDJ stands:

You would have to organise a courier from Sydney, but $120+shipping is still cheap as chips.

ok,

So our CDJ's finally turned up.

For the stands it turns out that one of the DJs's who plays at one of our events is a chippy so he whipped up a couple of timber stands and then add a bit a black paint and voila!

Nice and cheap.

Nice, now all you need to do is replace that crappy Pioneer mixer with something decent like an Allen&Heath XONE:92
