Mystic Boogie - Sat avo>night - 17th Feb ---<><> --<> -<>

Hey guys,
Yeh the party once known as Set It Off is now....... Mystic Boogie. We are still at our fave lil pub - The (Mighty) Glengarry Hotel, Redfern.

This bad mutha is spread over two spaces. High Jinks/Bodega clan's Some Freak will be punching it out in the beer garden (/alley). If u decide to brave the inside of the pub, you may encounter some trouble from the tuffs: Mr Razzle Dazzle, Prize and Harry Sounds. Your hosts Mikey and Silvio (from Pardise Lost and the Bodega)are generally nice and approachable.

The BBQ will be out in full force. We'll be cranking free snags and ppl are very welcome and encouraged to bring along other stuff to eat and share.

The music will actually be pretty good. It has been in the past atleast. Party music. Duuuuub, Disco, Flying Funk, Rock, and some Weird Shit.

Yep, Entry is FREE.

Party is on Sat 17th Feb, kicks of at 2pm, goes till about 12am.

ps how long do you think it'll take before some crap, unimaginative night in Kings Cross starts up with the word Mystic in its name?

See if you can pick up some of that traditional Vietnamese music on vinyl. That would be a score.

If you're going to find anything, it will either be at Ben Tranh markets or the An Dong markets in Cholon in HCMC..

You find lot on CD, who know what vinyl you find or you like!

well still yet to find any golden viet disco but did manage to find this mans market... lots of tools, knives, ex-army gear, work gear etc. was very dusty and oily place. had that special feeling some golden crates were jus around the corner as never really got in there enough... but unfortunately had to rush to catch a ride.

Sounds like the perfect place to buy Si a combination barbecue fork/record-turner-overer.

the razzle is keen to bust out some new razzle productions. the record stores of late have also been good to razzle in areas of dub, dancehall, detroit house, bleeps, and more. looking foward to mystic boogie..

well no Dogs Of War as yet... am still staying open minded, maybe some Parisian over here in Hanoi has decided to purge his collection of obscure franco-viet disco.

have come accross some fine snake wine tho. yeh cliche i know but this stuff is actually more than palatable (brewed from 3 diff snakes). bottle does not have a snake in it either like the standard tourist shop fare and with only a vague viet lang only label on it i think she may jus slither past customs unscathed

lol "having a holiday" is spending time with loved ones and friends. the beauty of technological evolution is that you are always connected with the people of the world should u wish to be. i totally agree with internet usage whilst overseas. especially when ur partner is out getting a massage and you wanna kill an hour or so ;p

The list of attractions at the Glengarry just keeps growing and growing ... just added (albeit waiting for confirmation)

* 2 x trapeze artists
* A donkey with a lisp
* The concentric circle guessing game (very mystic, I assure you)
* The infamous howler monkey choral revue
* Spin the bottle out back with dodgy uncle Si
* ice cream
* MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED!
