i love the crisp, accurate yet not over powering bass... they sound a hell of a lot brighter than pioneers or technics as well imo...

I also love the way they stick to your head, and sit on without actually covering your ears... I also find that after wearing heavier headphones, my neck seems to have gone tight and needs to be snapped (I've got a bad back/neck)

i agree. i also find that they cut out the background noise better so you can hear the track your cueing a lot easier.

I agree with the bass comment.

i find my HD 25 SPs are brilliant i think the sound quality is amazing and the insulation as well, as it doesnt cover your whole ear.

I am also learning to beatmach how brack does with the snares or something the high hats i think. It actually is quite good!

we weren't talking about SP's we were talking about the real deal HD25's.

you'll find the hats method a lot easier on your ears when you play in venues.

if youre not to fond on the panasonics theyre made by technics anyways just labelled under panasonic. ill try and get you the model number if you want to have a look.

edit - the model number is RP-HC500 http://panasonic.com.au/products/det...?objectID=3840 all info is there if you want to have a look

Big chunky headphones = Bad.....Thats why I bought the HD25's. I have used quite a few headphones and I don't think anything beats them in terms of sound quality and comfort.

hey guys,

I see everyone all the time is reccomending sennheiser HD25s, Is it seriously one of those products you just CANT beat? And to put it plain and simple they are the best Headphones in the "dj" market that you can get around that price range?

Ie: If someone asks what turntables should i buy everyone says Technics "industry standard"

Is this the same case with HD25 headphones?

Thanks

no... plenty of DJ's use headphones other than HD25's... but I personally believe they're unbeatable..

which 1200's?

the RPDJ 1210's are a great headphone, the equivelant 1200's people seem to be happy with as well. I'm quietly dubious of all 50mm driver headphones though... I don't know of any brands that haven't broken at the ear piece

AKG K81DJ.....they cost around $125 i think but i got em on sale for $95....sound awesome and can be used with portable devices (walkmans/ipods with no amp required) aswell as turntables (they have a 1/8" connector with a 1/4" adaptor that screws onto it).

Another vote for HD-25s. Bought a pair about 2 weeks ago after using MDR-7500s and then Pioneer HDJ-1000s, my god they're so much better than I could have ever imagined.

That being said the silver Sony ones are pretty good too.

Spend an extra $50 (so $200) and you can get these on sale at Spank at the moment (normally around $300)
Its well worth forking out a little extra dosh for a quality pair of headphones.

So what are better Pioneer HDJ 1000 or Technics RP1210? Considering they are aroung the

same in price and the Pio's have 3,000 mW compared to technics 1,500? What does this

mean? Cheers.

It means you should get the technics ...... (unless you have enough for HD-25's)

I've been rocking with technics 1210's for ages now and they are still going strong - I have no real need for a new set of headphones but I will be buying some HD-25's soon because after having a crack with them I really see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, the technics 1210s all the way unless you really have a "thing" for excessively large cupped headphones (which I hate, personally) I've had my pair of 1210's for over 7 years with no issues.

If anything, get the ones which don't have the coily cord...1200's? The black ones...they're less hassle, but exactly the same. My coily cord is still fine because I really look after them...lend them to someone who doesn't give a toss and 5 mins later it'll be tangled and fucked.

if you just want a pair of "cheap" headies then try the sen HD205 they are around $100 and do a good job for what they are.

if you're just starting out and bedroom mixing then these'll do

if you have the cash the HD25 at $270 are a great buy....

^^ I dono about their lower range. Sennheiser have an awesome reputation but that doesn't necessarily extend to their cheaper headphones. I've used some of their cheaper ones a mate owns and they are shit. I dono what kind they were but they were sort of oval shaped cans with two cables. Save some cash for some half decent ones like the 1210's or save alot for the HD-25's. If your intent on going for that price range go for the best ones you can find, not the most expensive ones you can find. Have you tried going into a store and trying some of their headphones out?

I use RP DH1200's and they are awesome. I liked the HD25's also but too many of my mates have trashed them in transit to gigs by putting them in the bag. They are a bit flimsy in that regard.
