Post a photo of your DJ setup!!!!
I thought seeing as the producion & DJ are in different forums it makes sense to have seperate threads.

Heres my setup back home, i'm overseas again at the moment and missing my gear

Also need to get stands/shelves etc to sit some gear up on to bring it all closer together !

You thought about racking the gear up???
Eg 2 1000's up on a rack and the laptop beside them on the bracket....could save a lot of space and shifting about Could evern put the kp3 on a rack on the otherside?

Either way - with scratch 3 cdjs, 2 TT's and two efx....your certainly not short on gear hey?

But whatever works for you is best

that set up seems a bit of overkill to me you have 9 inputs - two turntables, serato, 3 cdjs and that other controller thing (is it behringer?)

if you use it all though more power to you!

A couple of old pics.

Upstairs:

2 x Technics 1200s loaded with Shure M44-7 carts
Numark DXM-06 mixer w/ CP-Pro fader
Rane Serato Scratch
Truth 2030A monitors
Sennheiser HD25 headphones

Downstairs:

Behringer UMX-25 Midi Controller
Behringer BCD2000 Midi Controller
Klipsch 2.0 Promedia desktop monitors

Used for producing and mixing in...

BDJ
Futuredecks
Traktor
Ableton
Reason

But I'm currently looking to change my upstairs rig from vinyl and serato to a CDJ and ableton setup instead.

Yes I do need to rack it up!!! It was / is only temporary as I was only back in Australia for 3 months.

The second effetct box (the DFX-1) is for sale if anyone is interested!

Actually 7 inputs and I only use 5 at a time as TT's are used for timecode or normal vinyl but not both.
Yeah the controller is a Behringer, I use it as as a controller so I never touch the laptop (its just a display)

The flexability is great and its also great to get some mates over and have back to back sessions

I don't use Serato (the program) just their timecode vinyl and no I haven't used the CDJ's with timecode cd's yet but I will get around to trying it.

man have i been through a lot of different setups
i'll post the transition up slowly for you all, can't find all the in betweens

current set up, im so sick of the clatter im going to get serato, get to get heaps of tunes via digital but can still get that vinyl hit.

Most vinyl junkies will agree nothing beats putting that needle on a virgin vinyl, just how a heroin addict must feel when the needle goes in the veins with serato i can keep using the vinyl and new tunes every week yeha

been through quite a few cheap headphones and mixers, nothing beats the hd25s and i was very impressed with that american audio mixer. Currently in the market for serato, a 3 channel mixer a cdj 800 and the current setup will be complete

ive had both and vinyl just doesn't compare. why do u think a herion junkie uses herion? its just not the same at all. iam a music junkie and have been for 20 years, i know the feeling of a great new track u put on the decks, but the injection of a Opiate to make your bodily functions work properly is just not the same..

its like this, if you dont have a new record your body doesnt go into all kinds of withdrawls to make you that sick you would do break and enters to feel normal again now does it. If it did, your djing for the wrong reasons

i like your set up bro , but that statement was a little off the mark

and using the 1 scratched up record to play an mp3 or wav track through is not it either, a vinyl junkie loves there wax, they take care of it and look after it.

the create idea is sweet as though

Hey mate,

My friend is actually a carpenter so I got him to build it for me. The CDJ stands were bought off E-Bay and the speakers are on Quiklock stands.

What I love most about my table is the height. I am 6"2 so I had him build it nice and high so I get no back fatigue at all.

Yeah they dont miss a beat.

The CDJ100 are very light and had a tendency to slide around. So I got a velco strip and stuck it on the back of the CDJ to hold it in place.

If I had CDJ1000's or CDJ800's, the sheer weight would hold it in place.

man im so hungry right now I could eat a horse

waiting for new jacks response, outling that animal cruelty is bad and that we should not murder helpless animals

btw with serato you can change the line to phono so you can play both vinyl and mp3 thats what i was trying to say, whereas if i get a cdj1000 i will no longer be able to play vinyl, feel me

Tips to keep thread neat:

No off-topic rants ie vinyl vs CDs
No quoting entire sets of photos to ask one question
No PMing Stevewill and asking for his address and daily schedule

Sometimes yeah!

I have a chair that i use that's not in the photo. It is annoyingly low, but I didn't wanna get rid of the table as I love it, and there's nowhere else to put them in the mean time. My poor back

Yeah they're really good, very accurate - probably better for producing rather than just DJing but I got them for a bargain - $600 off ebay. I use them with a Zeck double 10" sub, and that fills out the low end stuff nicely - the EMES's put out good bass for their size, but its always good to have a little more of the low stuff when mixing :-)

you know what really strikes me about this thread and it's pic ... the lack of fun/creative shit about the space.

they are look so damn sterile

my walls are covered in flyers and posters and there's figurines and toys on top of speakers ... stickers on things

do you lot enjoy mixing staring at blank walls and clean lines everywhere ??
