That is the complete opposite to my setup, the closest thing i have to a Effect is the way the sound changes of i turn my ceiling fan on high!!!!!

I sold some un-repairable gear and a bunch of ada patch bays to a guy who was going to rack them in his studio for decoration, maybe this Deadmau5 guy has the same thing going on!!! Remember it's not about the music you make it's about how good you look making it!!!!! lol

Thought i'd post some updated pics of my room since last time, which was about a year ago. The pics look pretty similar, but the extra gear includes:

- new Bozak DLC rebuild from Buzzy Beck
- GSA Isolator
- Pro-stand rack
- Vaf Platform Subwoofer

And this is the under-side of the sub, which is the coffee table looking thing in between the speakers

^^ Ah, absolutely my kinda good-lookin' set-up...

Hey, how's that VAF sub treating you? Such a clever concept to conceal in what otherwise could be a big-screen-telly stand. And what are the main monitors? They look VAF also?

I remember first drooling over a pair of DC-X series floorstanders back in 1997 when you could pick-up the semi-assembled kit for $1399/pr, that basically just needed the drivers screwed in. I see they're double that these days, albeit come fully assembled, ready to go.

The sub is great! When most people first hear the room, they think the bass is coming from the mains and don't even realise that there is a sub. Mine is actually a prototype model, with 4 x 10" drivers. The production model has only 1 x 12", but the specs and performance are very similar I think. The room is quite small, so the sub is turned down quite a bit, but it still kicks! Some tracks can sound too boomy but thats down to the acoustics of the room which I cant really help.

Yes the mains are Vaf Signature i-91s. A friend has a pair of the DC-X's in a similar setup to mine and they sound fantastic. Very big sound and great bass. They are still great value at todays price.

Very nice set-up Papanikolas, I love the Vaf's, i've heard good things but never heard a pair myself!
I also like the visual contrast between the white, the treatment and your gear, that room looks great!

I'm lucky enough to live in a share house where everyone has their own spare room. This is what I've done with mine.

If I owned that set up I would probably use about 10% of it! So much stuff to get your head around, I'm sure you could do some crazy shit if you know what you're doing.

It's cool to see a pretty even mix between digital and vinyl dj's on here.

Pfft, haven't brought a trance track in about 3 years!

As for overkill - totally is, I'm gear slut & I know it

I actually don't use any of the Traktor EFX really - I hook up my iPad for some XY Pad action occasionally, but other than that the Pioneer units do the trick and cater for all my needs. Traktor just = Rekordbox for me really, and having an Audio8 means I can play on turntables / other CDJs when I roll up to a gig that doesn't have 2000's

And the RMX unit is a dope size for taking to gigs over the EFX unit, fits in my record bag perfectly - used to hate touring with the EFX unit, to much shit to carry with you.

Some old school 100W JVC's - paper cones, probably early 90's models. Had them for 10+ years - shipped them over from NZ they were that dope. Mixing on them is a dream

Oh any they weigh a f*cking ton.
