He'd be using something like Serato so wouldn't have to change the CD once it's in there

No it's in a little drawer that slides out from under the right-hand CDJ (the picture doesn't show it that clearly). Otherwise at gigs I put it next to the right-hand CDJ or in behind it, wherever there is space

How do you find the build quality of it? It looks a tad plasticy for me but there is a compromise there in that it would be lighter . . .

Works wonders. It's pretty solidly built, the jogs are nice and heavy, doesn't really feel "plasticy" at all, apart from maybe the sliders, but all in all it's a kickass little system. Money well spent I say.

It looks really cleverly thought out really. I probably wouldn't use the platters though really, thats all that puts me off it now having watched that video. I've already got an NI Audio 8 DJ as well so the sound card in it would be a waste. M-Audio should release a straight MIDI control surface without the platters, i'd be sold then.

Not enough buttons! Already looked at it and I hate the knobs, they don't have a particularly good feel to them. I'll probably have to end up buliding some frankensteins monster of a MIDI contoller to use traktor the way I want to, something bristling with encoders, velocity pads and BUTTONS! Yay! Only wish i had the time . . . . (insert worlds smallest violin here)

Are those truths?
Where did you get the stands from?
And how do u find the truths for monitoring?
I find that i have to have them up pretty loud to hear everything properly.

I've got B2031A and having exactly the same prob.....

I live in a typical aprtmant, gyprock not concrete walls and all the neighbours complain. I've adjusted the freq and room comp on the back of them but its dulls the sound too much.

With the bigger speaker you need a bit of power / volume to hear them well.

They are great for big open rooms when noise isnt a problem.

I'm thinking about selling and getting some 4or5" monitors instead.

I picked up those stands from Selby Acoustics on eBay, in fact I got quite a lot of good stuff from them, worth a look.

I'm more than happy with the truths in fact we have the large ones in the studio in the other room. Spend the time staging and setting them up properly and there fine. Plus I always have them cranked up hence my neighbors not talking to me.

nice, xone is the only way to go best mixer ever i don't yet have serato but its very quickly becoming very high on my need list.. same with a decent pair of monitors, eyeing off BM6A's but they will be staying away from the DJ booth

I have a 10" stage wedge on the floor which rocks for mixing at home and about 5 metres away from that is my stereo that consists of NAD 705 Reciever, NAD 501 CD Player, Marantz SP-35 Pre Amp and NAD 7020 Reciever but only the power amp works, a pair of 1975 DCM Timewindows and a pair of 12" sub bins i built myself i find i like it too loud for studio monitors so the stage monitor and stereo are a perfect combination

just took a photo

hrdde, nice!
how do you rate those monitors? loud? punchy bass? good highs and mids?
thinking of purchasing some :chin:

in the beginning of november i will have the exact same setup
minus your monitors and chuck in a micro stereo system.
and getting some proper cdj stands.
but nice setup bro

lol thanks guys, the stand is actually pretty good considering its a few bits of mdf and nice piece of timber across the front which i knocked up in about 30 min, didn't plan for it but the fascia sits perfectly under the cd slot so they kind of tuck in to the stand which i was stoked about. KRK RP8's are kick ass and i am very happy with them, nice and clear and although the lows are bit a blander than i would like, the monitors still punch, but hey thats what the v10 sub is for. Highs and mids, no complaints, very happy with that. I am waiting till i move out of home in about 6 months so im gunna get the sub then, i love my setup, cost me a pretty penny, but every penny well spent, no regrets

My mate got one of those V10 subs. He is living with his parents and has to leave it on the lowest setting or the whole house moves. Those subs defiantly need a solid floor.

Yeah can't really be good for your records even if you are not playing them relatively loud there's still vibrations going through them.
