i'm 50/50 surprised/not surprised as to how ur having trouble selling the CX

surprised in that its easily one of the best mixers I've used (although yours needs rotaries ) and not surprised as they are quite expensive

I quite like the faders, rotaries would be interesting however, never really mixed much on them...

Gotta make some stands up for my EMES monitors, the KV2's are way overkill for the loungeroom... sound bloody nice though haha.
My Xone 92's in its roadcase at the moment, thought I'd give the PMC-CX a run, seeing as I can't seem to sell the damn thing.

I like the table...must have cost quiet a bit...

amazing what they fit in such a small solid little box......i dont know about shitting on cdj800's but they are imo better than their direct competior the cdj200....

I just think the fact that they have two loop point, loops of any time length, two hot cues and effects makes them much better than CDJ800's. Don't get my wrong, I like the 800's, they have a better feel, but you can't get features anything like this on the 800. The 1000's don't even have two loop points and lets face it, the 200's are garbage!

The memory function is great as well, it remembers the two hot cue points, the two loop points, the cue point and the pitch!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they go for? If you do mind, just tell me to shut up.

i sold two of them for $900 and they were in great condition. i could have got more if i tried but i was happy with that and its good to cycle equipment around, and i HATE ebay with a passion.

i do love the feel of the cdj1000's being able to just nudge like a record is great. but they are a little "too" easy to use at times....

Yeah I agree, the Pioneers feel and response are much better, very similar to vinyl. They sound a better when manipulating the platter too.

the dns1000s are the only cdjs i have used and i cant stand them... they are my mates ones and either he didn't have vinyl mode turned on or the platters are useless... i wanted to nudge the mp3 forward a bit and all i could do was pitch bend it and/or attempt to fast forward using the buttons. also they seem to chuck a spaz when you are using VBR mp3s.

im sure theres a perfectly simple explanation for those two problems though, i had never used cdjs before so im a noob at em

Mmmmmmmmmmmm vinyl mode aint great, given, but using them to pitch bend was okay. And i found the pitch bend buttons even easier to use.

but then again i never used mp3 discs.................i get way too confused with too many tracks on a cd

Yeah the platter isn't great, but if it's your first time using CDJ's, any of them are going to suck! Just like turntables, you will never just be able to jump on and use them, you have to practise. Nudging doesn't really work on any CDJ, you have to get used to speeding up and slowing them down.

I use the pitch bend buttons too, find they are really useful because even if you are editing a loop, or using one of the effects, you can still speed up or slow down what is playing, you don't even need to use the platter.

Why are you using VBR MP3s anyway? I know the CDJ200 has major issues with VBR discs as well.

No idea dude, I don't have any VBR's, I just buy MP3 from traxsource, then burn them as CD's not MP3's. I figured I would be gutted if I burnt in MP3 format and showed up to a gig and the CDJ's don't support MP3, just not worth it.

Did you try burning them as a proper CD instead of a MP3 CD? I just had a look at the manual, it says it supports VBR, but maybe your files don't meet one of the following criteria. It could of also been a problem with the CD player as well.

Used VBR cos thats the bit rate i had ripped my vinyl at, was going quickly to a mates and didnt have time to convert the files. I burnt the mp3s as data, due to having only 2 blanks to take (for like 50 tracks). Next time I will definitely burn as CD instead of as mp3. Don't use CDJs that much anyway so its not top on my list of priorities

Honestly, after owning a Denon 3500 for 18 months I think the MP3 features are very much over rated.
I find when I burn an mp3 disc I forget what tracks are on it, where they are located and generally it brings the quality of my mixing down

Much rather have 10 CD's then 2 MP3 discs......just me maybe???

This is my humble little setup:

2 x Pioneer CDJ800mk2's
1 x Numark 5000fx mixer
RC3 Road case
1 x American Audio Powerdrive 2.2 Turnie
Technics 1210 hp's.
Yamaha HS50M Active Studio Monitor
2 Passive big ass thumpers that I don't have an amp for, and I'm pretty sure I blew last time I used them anyway.
And 1 awesome office desk that my brother just gave me that fits all my shit, and has a nice little compartment for the limited vinyl that I do own down the bottom.

Yeh your right, havent used it since I've put it all on the new desk. I've only had it on the desk for like 3 days. Before it was spread across 2 desks in an unco U-shape and at different heights.

The frame will cost around $1300, then you've either got to buy or make baseplates, and make the table top to go on the truss. I made mine out of marine ply.
The LED pinspots are around $150 each, I used 3.
The truss puts the table at a good height (if you're not a short arse), the deck platters are just above my belly button, so its easy on the back.
I sit the table tob on rubber rings to help with vibration isolaion. I find in bad venues I still have to use squash balls though.
Design Quintessence brings the truss in, so check their website out (http://www.dq.com.au) for resellers.
Those prices are rough retail, I can get the stuff (slightly cheaper), PM me if you're interested...

They are actually stands for keyboards or any other midi interface. Bought them from lightsounds for $50 each. The base seems pretty stable but the plate holding the CDJs seem unstable at times. But definitely worth it considering the price CDJ stands are going for. But I guess I will eventually buy a proper stand once I have stash in my wallet. Not worth the risk of seeing my CDJs smash to pieces.

Oh, I get it now. I think it is a cheap alternative but wont recommend it to anybody unless they have some experience in welding and so on. For me, I am crap at such things. Would eventually buy the actual ones unless some kind soul offers to build one for me..

Thanks dude.

How do you reach over the mixer to cue up tracks on the Technics?

Or is this photo purely for show?
